Sure, if we pretend a Nintendo DS with a +8 hours of Battery life never existed.

don't get me wrong, this news that battery life is over 4 hours is great but it's not optimal.

You can't compare the two, the DS is nowhere near the power or complexity of the Vita and the one section of mobile tech that is not advancing very fast is battery technology.

The DS and its battery life means nothing to the Vita, in fact the Vita being vastly more powerful and complex and still managing that amount of battery life is extremely impressive.

The 8-4 guys tried it, you can't use the same disc more than once.
Interesting...

I was looking at the UMD passport list, does anyone know if you can use a non "the best" UMD to redeem for the passport? I have a few Japanese games that qualify, but I have the original version...

Is there any sort of GPS app included with the Vita?

In Red Sun Gamer live stream they opened the browser and went to maps.google.com but I haven't seen whether that has the capability to use the GPS location.

Or is the GPS just present for games that need that sort of information?

The reason I changed my preorder from Wifi only to 3G/Wifi was for the added GPS capabilities. I didn't want a game that used it down the road and not have it.

I thought I had seen somewhere that the later editions of the Vita were slightly heavier than the earlier NGP prototypes that some people had a chance to play with. The article/blog said that the rep said the extra weight was due to Sony deciding to bump up the battery capacity.

I'm so glad they did. As long as it isn't a brick, I'd rather have more battery than a lighter system.

Where did you hear it from ? If true, that's the best Vita news I have read so far.

They can also attach a secondary battery to the accessory port and clip it around the top/bottom rim of Vita later.

I am buying a 3G Vita or similar reasons. Waiting for a geolocation app to show up.

i'd like to see some official reviews or at least hands on videos/photos of the accessories.

namely the awesome reversible case that turns into a stand, as well as the portable battery charger.

The FIFA footage looks nice. Will be interesting to see what EA does with Madden on the Vita next year and what Sony's MLB: The Show will look like on the platform.

FIFA has made it onto my pickup on sale or after price drop list.

I actually don't know. I was in class, but from what I read that thread wasn't very pleasant.

Off the top of my head:
Tales of Innocence R
WipEout 2048
Little Busters Converted Edition
Ragnarok Oddyessy
Gravity Daze
SumiOni

There may be some others I forgot about as well.

Good People Die comes out February 16th, 2012 as well.

Battery tests are really impressive. I can't wait to see a min settings test. Minimum acceptable brightness, minimum acceptable headphone volume, wifi/3g/bluetooth OFF.

isn't the official US launch game list coming this week? really need to get an estimate of how many monies i need. expecting a dozen launch titles i will want. lol

For the first time, I'll be double dipping on a sports game, MLB 12. PS3 and Vita with cloud saving will be pretty sweet.

Yup, need that. Watched more of Katamari, will wait for impressions from DCharlie or twentytwo22, but I'm leaning towards getting it. Then I saw the trailer for Super Stardust Delta - plenty of features there.

Then there's Gravity Daze...

8GB stick will have to do for now >.<

I hope so, SCEA needs to release concrete details ASAP. Especially on the damned memory card prices, AT&T's 3G plans that are Vita specific and PSN Vita games pricing.

Has there been any indication of EU 32GB card prices yet?

Nope but I'm guessing it is not going be 120€, the recommended price for the memory card is 9500 Japanese yen.

9500 Japanese yen = 94€

I would guess we could find one for around 80€ if we are really lucky.

I'm seriously considering this as well. If I don't double dip, depending on its quality, I might just grab the Vita version.

It needs to be on par with the console version though.

Wait, now I'm not sure. Can someone confirm? I may be confusing it with The Show.

It appears you were correct about FIFA. Saw this on the US Playstation blog...

Unfortunately we can’t offer cross-platform features or functionality between the VITA and and PS3 now….but it’s something that we know folks would like to see in the future.

I don't really know what that means. "in the future" ... In the future with a patch to FIFA or in the future with some other title?
