They're really gonna spend 10 minutes on that Boston game? Ugh...

some post game thoughts now that I'm home. Overall the game was defined by the phrase "going through the motions". neither team jumped out and the pace and overall flow of play was slow and choppy. Only difference is the hawks had at least played the night before to explain it. Montreal just seemed to have a nonchalant attitude the whole time and after the Hawks first two goals, which both were both "happy accidents" they just seemed to give up. It's like the message in the habs locker room during intermission after the second was "start loading up the bus."

Calamari was the kid on the milk carton, he was missing all game.

Subban looks like he's struggling out there, especially defensively.

The Hawks certainly didn't destroy them as the 5-1 score may look, but I was shocked to see the effort the Habs gave against a hawks team who were fairly unfocused for half the game until they started to pull it together later in the game.

also these two chicks always got up during play to go into the concourse, i'd like to extend a special "fuck you" to them.
just some thoughts, come at me Habs-GAF

Do people still see Torts as the more likeable guy? Even after the conversation with Hartnell after his 200th? All the focus on Torts is him telling people how they screwed up. Lavy seems to pass the blame around to everyone. It's not like he isn't as "intense." He's just less of a dick.

I like lavy more and more after every episode but that's not to say that Torts isn't a good coach, too. they just coach in different ways. Sure torts is a dick when it comes to the team but they showed his soft side too with the handicapped kid.

Holy cycle Batman! The Helm/Cleary/Miller line just owned the Nucks in their zone and it actually paid off with a goal by Helm.

You mean the part where he told the handicapped kid he was being lazy? :lol For the record, I'm not claiming to be objective here. I'm never going to like Torts. I think he's a shitty coach with an overinflated ego. His greatest "accomplishment" as a coach was giving St. Louis more play time, which completely ignores that he had a great player being wasted on the fourth line for a significant period of time before he "discovered" him. My other favorite Torts "master stroke" was benching Avery in the series against the Caps because he wasn't listening to him enough. Avery in, Rangers win. Avery out, Rangers lose. Torts didn't care about results. He cared more about his personal feud with Avery. Ego over the team, every time.

Kronwall, stop jumping up when you hit someone. Your fat ass is big enough to get the point across. At least he doesn't aim for the head or lead with elbows.

Ugh, you're really gonna call that a goal, huh? Guy slides into Howard and puts the puck in. I realize there was some slight contact with the Wings D, but you can't do that.

That was a goal? Could've gone either way IMO.

You could say it was a smart play by Hansen. He's cutting in, knows there's someone behind him, so he leans back so it wouldn't take much to spill him.

There's some real inconsistency from the referees in regards to allowing/disallowing a goal. What's the standard? What's the template?

Colton Orr falls on the goalie for a few seconds on his own. The goal is allowed.

Montreal player brushes Bryzgalov's glove hand slightly. Goal is disallowed.

Komisarek and Callahan battle in front of the net. Callahan loses the battle and fall on the Leafs goalie. Goal is disallowed.

And in this game. Slight shove into the goalie. Goal is allowed.

Here's how most Wings fans look at it...

IF {TEAM = DETROIT & PLAYER = HOLMSTROM}
GOAL = DISALLOWED

IF {TEAM !=DETROIT & PLAYER != HOLMSTROM}
GOAL = ALLOWED

The only city players like me are truly loved is in Philadelphia. Your the best fans hockey could ask for!!!!!!!

Went on twitter to check the reaction to 24/7. Thought this was a pretty cool sentiment. Philly does love their grinders.

That shitty 21 second span did the Wings in tonight. Can't be playing catch up to a team like the Canucks from the start. Oh well, on to Calgary and maybe Conklin can get a f'n win for once.

2 game losing streak coming up, I also wonder how we will get screwed over in Calgary by a goal that should not have counted call. Offsides last game, push goalie in today, I'm gonna say kicked in for next game.
