I am going to catch up on TWGOK and Beelzebub, and I'll finally start Shingeki no Kyojin during this holiday break now that the semester is over. Last chapter I read for TWGOK was when Ayumi was in Keima's bed or something like that, and for Beelzebub it was when Hilda got taken hostage.

Even though i critic fairy tail a lot, i have to give it to Mashima that he dares show a bit of romance in his manga unlike the most Shonen battle manga.
It's not that other battle manga's don't do romance, it's that shonen's are near garuantee suck when it does become a focus.

I really don't understand why he isn't the MC. Ganta sucks ass. He is weak, a coward, he always whines, and his powers fucking suck. All what he does is just shoot balls of blood. How the hell is that interesting?
The MC being whiny and weak is what make for interesting character development not already developed character. It´s more interesting since Ganta is the MC. Besides as long as Crow gets screen time i am glad. Besides MC will most definitely ruin Crow´s character. Since MC have to be kind, whiny and all all that crap.
You can develop a character who isn't crying every panel. Ganta is just pussying around every page whining about how weak he is.
Every fight with Ganta has been like this.
- Ganta acts tough
- Ganta gets his ass handed to him
- Ganta throws more balls
- Ganta gets his ass kicked more
- Ganta gets mad and his balls somehow become strong.
On another note, the one thing this manga does consistently well is all the flashbacks characters get when they are fighting. They are mostly all good, short and get to the point.
And speaking of Crow, another amazing power up for him.

I don't get this point of view, you can have someone like Crow who is already developed to a certain extent who will eventually hit a wall later on and work from there, it's not like Crow is a 90 year old epic beard veteran.

If Crow is the MC his whole personality would have to change to be that Shonen main character. No thank you. Ganta cries, yeah, but that also because he is young and does not have the experience that Crow has. Crow strikes me as one dimensional character who lives to fight. Like Kenpachi. Both are boring in big dosses.You can develop a character who isn't crying every panel. Ganta is just pussying around every page whining about how weak he is.

It´s quite boring for me to see a main character without any internal struggle, and being the same static character as always. How would you develop a character like Crow without pussyfiying him? Even though i like Crow´s character, i just don´t want to see him in every chapter. Only nce in a while or his act will become boring and he will lose his charm.

Oddly, this was a toned down chapter for fanservice. Also,
"...because he was your former lover." Right to the point, huh?
It was always there but it gotten worse as the manga has gone on. It has gotten to the level where it's just distracting now.

Overall, it's a decent battle manga. The fights don't take ages to finish and are fast paced. Most of the cast is pretty entertaining, and the story is interesting to a point. As I mentioned before, the one thing I enjoyed the most was the flashbacks before each fight. It's a good way to go through the backstory of each character without slowing down the pacing of the fight too much. Plus a lot of the flashbacks weren't overly long so it's all good.
I think the latest one with Shiro was pretty sad. The part where she kept putting her arm back on

Don't get me wrong, if the MC just coasted everything with no problem that would also be boring to although you'd have the bonus of "like a boss" moments, the opposite in that Ganta whines and bitches everytime is just as equally grating.
So that's how I started to read smutty/porn manga.
Also your line about Ganta rarely getting fights intrigues me, I didn't think much of the anime tbh, but it doesn't hurt to read where the anime left off/diverges.
Erza x Gerrard does nothing for me, I'd rather read some random shoujo.

I don't even care about Ippo too much anymore even though I absolutely loved it for quite a while. It's ridiculous how long this series has been around for and how little has happened. i don't care that much about the other guys besides Ippo and Takamura. Why waste a good portion of a year focusing on shitty character fights? If I wanted that I'd start reading Bleach again.

In my anticipation of reading Saturn Apartments, I decided to check out what else has the author made. So I stumbled on this short story collections. While most of them were short and sweet, the art style was pretty good. It's simple, but not ugly simple. Something pleasant and you can enjoy looking at.
Anyway, most of the short stories were good, but god damn, the main one, White Clouds, is fucking great. A great contender the greatest 16 pages of manga ever.

This is fucking amazing. Amazing art and the horror scenes are awesome as well. Also this manga has some amazing close up face shots. I just love the atmosphere of the manga. The author really did a good job creating a horror feeling to the pages. Apparently he is the same dude that made Rainbow. Makes me want to read it but the translations are incomplete.

Maybe only because it's the only character related bits FT even bothers with any more. I felt pretty certain Mashima was going to shoehorn in some crummy romance arcs the second he bullshitted Lisanna back to life.
I can't wait until we get to a new set of disposable villians for Gray, Lucy, Erza, Natsu and the PlusOne to fight.
After the whole flashback on Natsu and Lisanna raising the egg, I thought that was the purpose of bringing Lisanna back from the "dead", but her existance has been lampooned into oblivion since, making me think that she was brought back beacuse... it's a shounen?

I thought Lisanna was to get a Natsu, Lucy, Lisanna love triangle going, though that subplot seems heavily subdued.
I actually thought that at one point, but I genuinely believe there is nothing between Natsu and Lucy outside of friends, Lisanna getting fake NTR'd is the best I can see for that scenario.
Natsu and Lucy is impossible. There has to be a miracle for that to work out.
Speaking of Lisanna being brought back, how many non villains characters are dead in FT? There is that dude that Erza was talking about this chapter. Any other important characters?
