EA SPORTS FIFA
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Time to start saving up :)

That charging cradle is gorgeous. Wish the psp had one a long time ago.

There's a official PSP craddle :

Bought this day one... unfortunatly, my MH PSP doesn't fit in :(

So I'm looking at this first edition bundle at amazon but is this a deal if I don't care for getting it one week early? Are the other extra still 100 dollars if I buy them seperately or less?

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-First-Bundle-Sony-PS/dp/B005IMVP0O/ref=sr_tr_sr_1?tag=videogames063a-20&ie=UTF8&qid=1324627570&sr=8-1

?

For $350 you get:

$300 - 3G Vita
$20 - 4GB mem card
$30 - Little Deviants game
$xx - case

So basically, you're paying to get it a week early, plus a simple "case".

I had one pre-ordered but I think I'm going to go with a 3G Vita plus the Starter pack which gives me more items I want:
Sony will also offer a Starter Kit for $39.99 which includes a 4GB Memory Card, Pocket Pouch, Protective Film, Card Case, Headphones, and Cleaning Cloth.

Vita will have to wait until my birthday in May, but goddamn if my hype isn't accelerating through the sky. By then Uncharted should be found for a decent price, so that bullshit $50 price point won't be an issue for me.

I guess I should make a list so it motivates me to save money:

WiFi Vita - No 3G unit in Canada at launch, so I'll wait until a revision to get a 3G Unit.
16-32GB Card - I've not decided yet.
Case
Screen protector

Games:
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational
Modnation Racers: Road Trip
Gravity Rush
Shinobido 2

Maybe:
Lumines
Touch My Katamari
Virtua Tennis 4
Rayman: Origins

Will wait for reviews/price drop/demo:
Escape Plan
Uncharted: Golden Abyss
Silent Hill: Book of Memories

Fellow Canadian bemoaning the lack of bagged milk preorder bonus and 3G version.

SKU: Wifi
Memory: 16GB & 32GB
Acessories: Screen Protector, Attache Case w/ Kevlar interior

Games:
(Launch)
Uncharted
UMvC3
HSG
Rayman Origins
Army Corps of Hell

(Window)
Gravity Rush
Disgaea 3

Ugh, those EU prices are fucking insane. RRP for HSG in the US is $30, UK works out at around $55. :(
It's sort of because the US prices don't include state taxes (which can vary state by state, although they will only add like 4-10%+ to the prices listed), while Europe has their VAT (tax) added to the price as the MSRP.

Games usually sell for well under RRP in the UK.
I'm aware of this. I don't like the principal of getting fleeced so badly though.

That was mentioned on the blog, however I'm fairly sure that no state sales tax in the US is around 90%. :p

Gonna hope for some decent trade in deals at launch and get rid of my DSi and maybe my second PSP

Going for:

Wifi Vita
Starter pack
32gb card

Lumines
Hot Shots
Army Corps of Hell
Super Stardust
Escape Plan

Later:
Gravity Rush
Shinobido 2
Uncharted (from a sale, the bargain bin, or greatest hits)

Slept on things, and despite the better (though not great) memory card pricing I'm going to hold off. The only must have game for me is Gravity Rush, and that's not a day 1 title. Think I might hold out until Persona 4 hits in North America, and maybe by then I can also pick up some of the launch games on the cheaper low.

Going to be tough resisting a purchase of this. I want FIFA, Hot Shots and Disgea (hopefully more RPGs soon). I can totally justify this as an engagement present for myself since my lady just got a nice ring.

Sony's first party titles saves this launch for me. Whodathunkit.

Seems fitting. Sony really took off as a publisher around the time PSP launched. 2005 was a transformational year for SCE. Internally, it was probably around 2002/2003, but 2005 is when gamers started to get a taste of it.

Looking at the hardware specs (CPU/GPU) made me think. Could Sony make the development platform scalable? That way they could release future versions with the latest and greatest ARM chips the way smartphone components are always improving. That would be a great way to offset the inevitability of more powerful iPads and Android phones which will be out in 2012 or 2013, right?

Out of curiosity. Where are you guys pre-ordering from?

I'd like to get everything from Amazon (preferably in one shipment with free release day shipping). But they're taking forever to update their Vita section (they don't even have the memory cards up). I'd like to avoid purchasing from Gamestop if possible.

Have you seen how much Rogers charges for Data on iPads?

Sony Canada being useless and taking forever to secure a wireless partner did us a favor. The wifi first edition bundle is awesome.

Wonder when we'll get 3G ATT details.

I might be interested in a 3G Vita if Sony/ATT something like a free Vita with a 2 year data plan contract.

On day one, I will be getting following:

WiFi Vita
32GB card
Super Stardust Delta
Escape Plan

I'm still on the fence about Uncharted. Also, I never got into Wipeout, but might get based on how the reviews turn out.

I really wish Sony had a Vita option with 32GB onboard storage with expansion slots for $349. That way we could potentially have 64GB of storage without having to card swap.

Amazon of course.
Tax savings on the system and accessories alone will net me another game.

They'll put the rest of the accessories up soon. Launch is still 2 months away.

So far:

Paid Off:
PSV First Edition Bundle - $299.99

Pre-Ordered (not paid):
WipeOut 2148: $24.99

BlazBlue: $39.99
MLB 12 $39.99

Would love a price drop on:

I have the first edition but I think I need to cancel. Should do:

Wifi Vita
16 GB
Uncharted
Wipeout
Shinobido
Army Corps
MINNA NO GOLF authentic nihongo language edition
Lumines (maybe)

Launch Window
Gravity Rush

Where is the first edition for 299?

It doesn't seem like 3G system will even be released in Canada. None of the 3G carriers have picked it up.

EDIT: Just double-checked to be sure. Best Buy, Future Shop, and Amazon.ca just list the Wi-Fi only system.

Yeah. Due to "extensive testing with the selected partner carrier".

So it's probably Rogers' fault.

Which is bullshit but whatever. I was planning on doing the pocket wifi hotspot thing with my phone should the need arise.

Anyone know what the cradle is supposed to go for?

i just realized something. i'm a big fan of dungeon hunter alliance but ubi should be fucking ashamed of themselves if they are going to try to sell a 5 to 10 dollar download/iphone game for full price on a vita card. i hope to hell it is psn download only and really cheap. otherwise they can fuck right off.

It will come out eventually. Sony Canada is just useless, or SCEA doesn't give them the resources to do their job properly.
