Tomodachi wa Mahou
Last Exile 10/11/I have no idea what the official number is can someone please tell me?:

Yeah. This episode is full of QUALITY. The first half especially is unreal ugly, it makes Meguca look amazing. The usual pan out shots where nothing is even drawn correctly let alone animated while the characters talk, the slanty eyes derp all over the place, second half is better but its still there.

As for the episode itself, God damn. Holy crap. doomed1 you were indeed correct.

So three things from this episode the first being the what the hell
everybody is dead and the Silvius is DOOOOOOOOOOMED. Lightsaber battle was cool as hell but uh Dio everybody else is dead, you're kinda fighting the irrelevant battle of irrelevance here. That was some serious hacks going on, not much of a fair fight >:/.

The next being
Liliana. What the hell? Turncoat wench she might as well have stuck the knife into her sister while she was at it. I really, really, really hope the show doesn't try to paint her in any kind of sympathetic light for her actions.

And finally
the return of Alvis. Introduced by Dio. Say what? Dio introduces her to Fam Fam talking all about the hardships and deaths she had to deal with. Please tell me this was just referring to her old nurse and pilot and not that some combination of Mullin, Dunya, Lavie and Claus are dead D:

All in all a really neat and awesome episode. I just wish it looked a little better especially considering how important this episode was and well its the episode after some filler recap.

Princess Tutu 04:

oh my god what is wrong with your face

That was a lovely conclusion.
Princess Tutu doesn't have to solve everything with her ballerina superpowers! Sometimes just the joy of dancing can end the grief of a heart-broken girl.
:)

I very much enjoyed Ahiru and Rue's focus in this episode. It's great to see Ahiru being passive aggressive towards her love rival, though I'm not sure she is aware of it. Actually, they got along pretty well considering they will surely have to have a dance-off at some point. This relationship feels more natural than the one with the two manipulative girls, but I guess that's mostly because they only exist as comedic fodder.

Speaking of Ahiru I wonder if there are any male protagonists in animu who act so selflessly regarding their love interests. This girl is basically getting NTR'd and she's okay with it. Or maybe that's what turns her on...

Does this mean I'm the British girl?
There is, apparently, a maid cafe in Los Angeles now.

That's, like, facing the wrong ocean. :(

Mirai Nikki 12

Conclusion to the arc was handled damn well. I love Kurusu as a character and
his end was touching if not super cliche.
And before we even get a chance for some downtime,
Yuno is already being all yan by bringing the heads.
I might be misremembering the order of things, but I'm pretty sure shit hits the fan soon (though, it's pretty much Shit Hits the Fan: The Series as it is).

Fireball

Slight, but charming. The comedic delivery is well-timed, and the CG works well within the stylization and limited scope of the show. 11 was my favorite episode:
I've always wanted to punch out a laugh track.

Now for Fireball Charming.

Does this mean I'm the British girl?

Sure, if that's what you want. I'm not a Ceci fan or anything but I guess if you like Yukana's voice, there ya go.

That's, like, facing the wrong ocean. :(

It's still cheaper to fly to LA than it is to fly to Tokyo!

Mirai Nikki 12

(though, it's pretty much Shit Hits the Fan: The Series as it is).

Shit hasn't even really gotten real yet. The really real shit is yet to come.

It's like the original, but more charming, and with better CG. It looks better than most CG anime anyway, which is probably because because they don't try to animate people.

I'm now four episodes into Ghost Hound, and while it's paced very leisurely I'm really enjoying it so far. I have no idea where this is all going--the random
everyone astral projecting as big-headed translucent blue babies was not something I saw coming
--but as long as it goes somewhere I'll probably be happy.

Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock 1:

Hmph. Stupid purple aliens. I am not saving you b-because I like you or anything. (blush) S-so don't get the wrong idea. Got that?

This was very well done and it only makes me sad that Dragon Ball was never remade. The animation was among the best of the original run but crispier, and Bardock is enough of a likable character to make me wanna follow his adventures, even if I don't particularly like the premise that
he didn't die at the hands of Freezer.

Speaking of that, having Freezer
acknowledge Bardock and mock him when destroying planet Vegeta is a retcon I am not very excited about; the whole point of that scene was that Freezer was above the Saiyans and saw them as nothing more than a bother. Re-imagining the character as a clown who enjoys his sadistic methods instead of using them a tool to an end cheapens some of Bardock's tragic aspects.

I would recommend this to every Dragon Ball fan out there. It's much better than the special from a few years ago, and provided that it doesn't get too stupid (for Dragon Ball standards) it might be a worthy spin-off in the long run.
Kuroko no Basuke trailer

I think this is going to be a loose adaptation. Not sure if better.
The only sports animu I'll be watching this season is Area no Kishi fuck yeah!

Digimon Adventure: Our War Game

Well, this certainly handled the internet aspect far better than Summer Wars. Kinda makes Summer Wars look like a rather pointless endeavour.

Summer Wars' huge cast is detrimental because the cool stuff always happens on the interwebz. Our War Game assumes you know these motherfuckers and lets the fun roll along immediately.
really? i thought it was equally silly
Our War Game has Omnimon so it's inequivocally superior. Summer Wars' climax includes an
Angel Fox Furry lady
.

Kanuka! I completely forgot this episode, the swordfight was so epic. It's a shame that it was the second episode with a more Kanuka centric plot.

That episode was pretty amazing and it shows just how flexible the show can be with it's use of labors. They can tell pretty much any kind of story they want.
While we're on the subject of harems, are there any with older protagonists? I don't mean like college age or the SZS guy, I mean like 30s.

Probably, but I presume that part of the fantasy involves being young.

This is such a Saturday morning shounen show. Which is funny since it actually airs at 5pm on Sundays, but whatever.

I guess this is the requisite mid-season point where they stop asking new questions and start to answer stuff.

I actually kinda liked the family aspect of Summer Wars and wished they'd have spent more time fleshing that out instead of the cool superflatesque internet shit.

gainaxing is a true artform. Imitators sprang up everywhere culminating in Plastic Little with ADVs patented jiggle counter. That was a glorious time, of revolution and moe's infancy, when none of this tsundere bullshit existed

This is why I don't like near end of the year. Almost no anime airing for like 2 weeks. Could you imagine if PenguinDrum final episode was air after the new year?
