So...weird question:

Does anyone know if the save file for my imported copy from Europe will work with the NA version? I'm only about 10 hours into the game and I would love to continue playing it using the NA copy so I can get rid of Homebrew...

I think I read somewhere that there's a way to convert your save file between regions on certain games if it doesn't work. I'll try to find it when I get back home.

I'm going to guess no, but who knows how different the two copies will be.

StarwolfUK posted something about that on the last page. Should be possible but it's probably going to require some effort on your part to convert it to a NA save.

Edit: Actually it was in the OT, sorry. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=33137955&postcount=1337

Just bit the bullet on 2 copies from GS. Gonna cost me about $200 NZ but I figure it's worth it to keep them sealed for my collection (and to show NOA that there is demand).

That and it costs $99 to buy the PAL one here on special anyways...

Any news on whether they're bundling a controller or is it just the game?

I pre-ordered from Nintendo. People complain about paying for shipping but Amazon's free shipping takes two weeks (where we live) and their standard shipping costs $5 just like Nintendo. And if an online retailer like Amazon doesn't collect tax I have to pay Colorado Consumer Use Tax so I have to pay tax either way.

How much is shipping if I order it directly from Nintendo?

edit: Nevermind, saw some posts detailing shipping costs. Guess I'll go ahead and pick it up from Gamestop then.

I havent read all 23 pages of this so bear with me if its been addressed, but is there any reason to order it from Nintendo over gamespot, other than the latter being a shitty company? Like do you get an ost from nintendo? Is there a gamestop logo on the boxart if you get it at gs?

okay quit bumping this thread until the end of APRIL! I wanted painfully for a long time now

TAKE MY MONEY and give it to me on New Years DAY do you HOUSE OF MARIO

They don't want people to buy a bunch of the limited run just to flip on ebay.
Why would they care? If anything its best to encourage people to buy lots as it dilutes the market and/or Nintendo might trialing this online order thing as a way of making low production re-runs I hope (its kind of like that guy that tried to control the entire worlds supply of some metal all that happened is the Chinese ended up mining more of it). I mean they don't care about people having multiple Club Nintendo accounts and getting multiple platinum prizes which get sent to eBay.

No new yet. Although Amazon.de do have the Red CC Pro on its own for sale so thats a possible way to get it (I remember a few people got amazon.de to ship Xenoblade to America so the CC Pro to New Zealand might be possible).

A lot of people despise gamestop, including myself. Still, i think i might swallow my pride and just preorder it at GS so I don't have to pay/wait for shipping.

Ah okay. Yeh I got a red CC Pro with my UK copy from Game, but I thought maybe NOA might have the generosity to give me something little extra for my $200, hehe :P It cost me $100 for my copy from the UK and that included the controller, so I feel like I'm getting less bang for my buck in buying the American version.

I think I'm going to have to pre-order here.

Although I'm not a fan of Gamestop, they send me games in 2 business days with free shipping. And as far as I know, ordering from Nintendo.com costs more for a Canadian and there might be customs fees on top of that.

*pre-orders*

Yeah, the free shipping is the only reason why I'm ordering from there. They also have express shipping for $8.99, which is only a dollar more than Nintendo's shipping cost to Canada.

I noticed a Xenoblade banner at the top of this week's Nintendo eshop newsletter. Hopefully this isn't the extent of their marketing campaign.

I highly doubt they'll be any TV spots. In fact, what was the last non-Final Fantasy/Dragon Quest jRPG that got TV spots?
Ignoring Pokemon for being in that same category in spirit... Lost Odyssey? Though being a major Hironobu Sakaguchi game from Microsoft makes it a borderline case of being a "Final Fantasy" anyway.

I would at least hope (maybe outright expect) some serious advertising online. Not that it did much good for some other RPGs like Magical Starsign, but it'll at least remind people that it's out.

I couldn't go a single commercial break of my favorite shows without seeing a Star Ocean: The Last Hope commercial back when it was first released.

It's available at Play Asia now for pre-order. Just cancelled my order for 2 copies at Gamestop and saved $50 ordering there, woo!

That's unexpected. I wonder how Play Asia managed to pull that off... and indeed if it's a legit deal after all.

Maybe Nintendo's willing to bend on availability if the individual retailer asks nicely?
