Hmm, Katanagatari. Animated by the same studio that did Steins;Gate, NOT SHAFT. It's only 12 episodes though, I wonder if they tried to fit the whole story in and failed or just did what they felt like doing and then ended it with GO READ THE LNs SUCKERS! Either way, it's probably still better than anything LOLSHAFT did. Maybe I'll look into this one.

What was the last good show with a brown girl?

K-ON had Brown Azunyan...

The jman signal has been lit!

I'm sorry, I couldn't decipher this post because of apparent grumpiness!

Also, if you'd consulted Wikipedia harder you might have noticed that each episode is about 50 minutes!

well i think i'm gonna go spend the next hour or so wondering why i spent the better half of my day watching all 12 episodes of Infinite Stratos

oh god and there's that OVA too huh...

Princess :firehawk 06: Once upon a time, there was a shitty DVD release.

Even the title logo didn't match up with the one from the opening ffs.

But this is not that story.
I would have expected Ahiru to realise the horror of her quest to happen a bit later, not in episode six. In fact, the episode went at great lengths to make the gravitas of the situation stand out. While the formula of the issue of the week was present it was also a more serious story about the frustration at unfulfilled dreams, which in my totally subjective hierarchy of personal issues ranks above being an ugly anteater.

I feel for Ahiru's sanity after this. Not only will she vanish if she ever confesses her love, but she is fated to make the one she holds the most dear suffer by loving him. It's like a fairy tale in the truest sense of the genre. :(

P.S. Mono no aware everywhere up in this bitch.
P.P.S.
Do Princess Tutu's confrontations with Mytho's shards occur in the real world or are they an allegory for something else? It's not like magicks don't happen in their town (she can turn into a duck goddammit), but the way they are represented gives them an aura of a "play within a play". It's very effective and alluring, I'd say!

Oh, is it already that time of year again?

For reasons I simply can't begin to comprehend, my commentary on the season is back by popular demand. This time, we'll be looking at all the wonderful shows of winter, and all the terrible ones too, that the viewerbase will spend their time curled up
alone
by the fire with!

I knew Dresden was being too soft on anime.
Nise conveniently missing lol.
Hang on a second....

Slam Dunk 56: Very tight episode. The table has been upended, and even the Kainan players were given a bit of flashback time each. The end of this game is proving to be very emotive!
we need more shows that aren't set in Japan
If you didn't watch Michiko e Hatchin then you are part of the problem.

I would have expected Ahiru to realise the horror of her quest to happen a bit later, not in episode five. In fact, the episode went at great lengths to make the gravitas of the situation stand out. Don't ask questions, just keep going.

This season the only thing that I'm sure I will watch is Nisemonogatari and the Nissan Car Advert. However, both of those works promise to be fairly trashy and unwholesome so I suppose I'll have to watch some backlog to cleanse my soul.

Oh, and Natsume S4, but only if it's a marked improvement over the last season. Now that Brain's Base aren't trying to make three shows in one season I'm assuming that the quality will improve inexorably.

hatehatehateeverythingisshitwerealldoomed

Anyway, here's my plan.

Continuing shows I will continue with:[...]All in all, I think it'll be a fairly enjoyable season.

Have you considered that that's a dangerous amount of anime? Especially if you're working through your backlog as well.

Sorry, I'm a bit grumpy because I'm returning my new 64" Samsung plasma TV. In the end I couldn't stand the buzzing. So now I have to either live with my old Sony 52" LCD or look into buying a different TV. My only rule with TV buying is that I never go DOWN in size from what I've already owned, and I can't really find anything comparable in size except the considerably more expensive 65" Panasonic plasma, so now I'm looking at one of those 70" Sharp Aquos monstrosities instead. Fucking LCDs, fucking plasmas, what the fuck has East Asia been wasting the last decade DOING when they're supposed to be bringing OLED TVs to the market?!

So, should I watch Katanagatari or not, Jex?

Souten Kouro End

That was a really anticlimactic finale. Last 2-3 episodes were pretty weak really. A blemish on an otherwise great show that I really enjoyed. I'd recommend it to everyone though, its a blast to watch, and it handles the scope of material and large cast quite well.

Get the 70" Sharp Elite

Surely $8000 is bargain enough :3

A present for you all~!

cajunator: OT pities the appearance of AnimeGAF to create the Tampire. Is this the real goal?

i9: Yes. OT can only live mortally on this planet. But, Tampire can live forever with the baka gaijin that lives within its body. Even after 500 billion years have passed... Even after the Earth, Moon, and even the Sun have disappeared, it will still exist as long as one Tampire is alive. Although it will be very lonely... as long as that Tampire still lives...

trejo: That will be the sign that AnimeGAF existed, and it will be preserved forever...?

cajunator: Good-bye, goshujin-sama.

Steins; Gate 16

That. dread. holy. shit. It's been a while since something hit me like that...wow. The thing that interests me now after this ep is
suzuha's sacrifice saved Mayuri, (For now?) but there's another person that's been having their ticket come up on the chopping block now repeatedly: Makise. He's not noticing her death's because of his focus on Mayuri, but she was the first to die(first ep) and was getting killed there just as frequently as mayuri.
Following the show's established logic... good lord, WHY? WHY?

e Steins; Gate 17 beginning

WHY!?

Great banner. Can't wait for the Mandoric Nisemonogatari breakdowns for years to come if it's anything like Bakemonogatari ;P

hmmm...

Have you seen Someday's Dreamers? Yume had awesome hair!

Also a good one for Cajun. Have to believe he's seen it though.

Yes. I own that series too. Adorable. Did you know there is a second season?

I just thought of another show for Cajunator.

Ashita no Nadja.

Ever since seeing the ED of this I am interested in it. Such a fun song.

Have you considered that that's a dangerous amount of anime? Especially if you're working through your backlog as well.

There's no such thing as a dangerous amount of anime.

The tampire lives on in all of us.

I think i finally get what a Tampire is
and its not moe

Well, I think it could potentially be moe.

If that didn't have Japanese audio in it, it would be worthless because of no Chiaki Omigawa. It's the same reason I dropped $60 on the complete Soul Eater remaster too.

Don't laugh at this. The japanese voice acting is sometimes so hnnngh I couldnt watch certain shows without it.

You might have a problem.

There's no problems man, only solutions.

I want a minchi robot >_>

Watching:

-Nisemonogatari

Keeping a cautious eye on:

-Everything else

This is the best stance to take when concerning anime.

Wow that is one epic death of animu thursdays.

Guess I'll give everything a chance and just before I put a bullet to the head, start maintaining the watchable ones.
