Damn that sucks. I really thought the Sabers would compete for the cup this year. It is to bad that they have had so many injuries.

I'm not quite sure, I stopped watching for a bit after that, and then came back to hearing he was out. That was the last I saw him.
Last season, well the second half, must have been a fluke. This team has a few years yet to even compete with the best of the best. It's sad but now that we've had some more time with a "new owner", the reality is sinking in. Pegula is on his way to being an irrelevant homer owner. There are so many glaring problems here that it's exhausting to even discuss at this point. Good luck to the Flyers, and to the rest of NHL GAF.

The Leafs are free-falling. They score goals in bunches but the defense and goaltending are embarrassingly horrid. Coach Wilson though doesn't give two fucks - let's continue playing a run-and-gun style boys! I'm sick of Wilson. I keep running the Staal goal over and over in my head and it burns me to my core just thinking about how that play was allowed to happen. It's a 3-1 game halfway into the third and the Leafs just need a few short minutes to seal the victory. But the entire team is thinking offense-first instead of playing defensive-minded hockey. It's 3-1 in the third and you've got Phaneuf hovering around the offensive blueline instead of manning the neutral zone. The result? Staal gets a breakaway and scores.
It's totally unacceptable. Leaf goaltending is too mediocre and inconsistent to play that dangerous style, especially when you need to close out a game. Every breakaway turns into a goal against. =/
Who does Winnipeg choose to boo tomorrow anyhow? Kessel? Phaneuf? Both?

This game kinda leaves a bad taste.
Wings need some serious work on their road play. Something is wrong and I don't know what, but they shouldn't be this much worse away from home.
That and some seriously messed up calls tonight, as well as 5 Hawks PPs and only 1 for the Wings and yeah... not a good one.

Yup, no luck at all, a few posts, some questionable weak calls on Detroit for penalties, and only one PP plus it is a road game as well. Figures, they won't do anything with the 20 seconds left either. Sucky game overall, they need to bounce back against the Blues tomorrow but they probably won't.

So that makes Myers/Ehrhoff/Sekera out for weeks at this point? Our D is completely fucked. Our offense isn't much better. This sucks.
I'm not glad Bozak's injured, but with him out it could be good for the line. Lately it seems like Kessel is setting up all the plays and doing very poorly shooting. Add Grabo or Connolly at C and maybe kessel gets to shoot more.
OR put Kadri in the middle and watch the crazy skill and inevitable turnover-fest? hehe

he's 6'5 and has a great glove hand, i dont think its as easy as 'shoot high!'
Rinne covers everything very well. He takes everything away that he gives, and he was locked in during the SO. Perron when high and beat him, although the shot hit the Crossbar, I believe Bakes tried to go higher but couldn't. The other three skated the puck in too close, and went low and Rinne sucked it up with ease.
I didn't mean to take anything away from Rinne, if I you thought I did Sef, I just want this team to win one or two of these shootouts. They have scored ONCE over their five shootouts so far, it needs to improve so I'm a bit sour about it.
Speaking of which, is your goal song an actual organ track? Such a shame
Not sure if by track you mean just an mp3 playing or whatever. We have an actual organ player playing it, and other songs during the game. It's always been the goal song, and it's a hell of a lot better than the generic songs the Blues had the fans vote on a few seasons ago. I believe the Wild are using one of the choices. If they can find something decent I wouldn't mind a change, but they choices they gave us last time were garbage.

Rinne is just pretty sick in shootouts, I'd love to see how his % compares to other goalies in the league. Anyone know a site that has those kind of stats?
