So I'm watching some random indy and lucha matches, and my god have I seen so many rope-assisted enziguris and lungblowers in these matches. I'm so sick of them. I blame Sin Cara for the enziguris. It's the new Shining Wizard. Anyone else have a move that's being used everywhere that just makes you groan?

Enziguri's have been super prevalent in indy wrestling for quite a few years now - the lungblower trend started around the time Marufuji started used the move (which Jericho then appropriated), as is often the case Japanese wrestling trends inform a lot of indy wrestling trends. Over the past year though I've noticed that slams and head-drops on the apron have become way over-used, and super-kicks are really starting to get played out.

Don't you talk about the Shining Wizard like that.

I've been watching the Young Bucks since they started in PWG, I've become completely numb to any superkick in indy wrestling now. Also, i think i can sum up these move trends into two words: Davey Richards

Brock Lesnar legitimately hated pro wrestling near the end of his run. The travel made him so miserable, he bought his own commercial plane to travel in.

I will be shocked as fuck if he comes back, although he did almost come back in 2005 when his NFL attempt got shut down.

Yeah, the Bucks are easily the worst offenders. Any match against Steen always results in them super-kicking him about 30 fucking times.

Pretty much. Davey's "American strong-style", as he likes to call it, seems to confuse fighting spirit with match psychology, so instead of a compelling, well-worked storyline we get a bunch of head-drops for no reason, a ton of submissions for no reason and a whole load of kicking out for no reason.

Davey Richards from about 07-08 in PWG and 09-10 in ROH seemed far more restrained, but now that he's in the role of top guy and is leading a lot of these matches all of that restraint is gone and the result is Davey/Eddie III at Final Battle; the epitome of doing too much in a wrestling match.

I'd just like to say that Michael Schiavello (an MMA/kickboxing commentator) just called a shoot wrestling match better than any American pro wrestling announcer team I've heard in years on the Dream New Year's Eve show. :lol

Up is down, white is black, SHYT BE CRAZY.

Much rather watch Lesnar/Taker than HHH/Taker. But we'll get a third between Mr. H and Taker, and it will be underwhelming like most of Triple H's matches.

Still, if he comes back in any form, I'm betting it's under some part-time basis. I highly doubt he does anything full-time.

Pro Wrasslin's become too self aware. We got to turn back time yo!

I'm just catching up on last night's Smackdown and Teddy Long's booking and decision making is just awful. Is he still on probation? Can we get Mick Foley as Smackdown GM?

Daniel Bryan was awesome trolling Big Show all night. He better not lose the title next week.

SMALL PACKAGE

OUTTA NOWHERE!!!

I don't like the spinning head scissors thing that luchadores and divas and mysterio/bourne/others do, looks so stupid and fake, like a circus act not a wrasslin move. I dunno what it's called

It's just a head-scissors, unless there's a rotation or two beforehand, then it's a spinning head-scissors, and a deja-vu head-scissors if there's multiple rotations.

Also, the reason it often looks bad is because, like Sin Cara's 'La Mistica', it's a move that requires a lot of work from the person taking it to make it look plausible.

Man, t'would be awesome if Brock came back. The title scene would be much more interesting and I think he'd be able to come in and have some great matches with people like Barrett, awesome Kane etc.

Either adding more fuel to the fire or douse it out

-During a post-fight press conference, UFC head Dana White made it clear that Brock Lesnar was retiring under contract, so he wouldn't be free and clear to go work for WWE or another pro wrestling promotion without White's permission.

What exactly would be the repercussions if Brock said screw it and went anyway? WWE would love that kind of publicity, it'd be trending all over Twitter.

Getting Brock back now after this super embarrassing fight last night would kind of hurt the image of WWE a bit. Like they're getting the table scraps of this guy, left-overs, sloppy seconds, and so on. I think it's time to move on and stick with pushing newer talent.

I don't think WWE are in a permission to pass up on a guy like Lesnar right now.

Have you seen the state of the current product? How small the roster is? How empty the arenas are? How awful the financials are?

Someone like Brock, even on a part time basis, would help to cover up some of the money pit that is the WW Network.

I agree with Heavy. But then again I seem to be the only person who thought Brock was worthless in the first place.

And the fact that business is in the shitter (simply because of the difficulty WWE has found in creating new stars) shouldn't be the sole reason to bring Brock in whatever the cost, as I'm pretty sure the whole Rock debacle of the last year should prove that any short-term gains from bringing in nostalgia acts are worthless in the long-run.

No, WWE in my book just need to concentrate on working with what they've got, building better characters who can take the company forward and rebuild some of the good-will they've lost in the past decade. But that will take good booking, better booking that what's often been offered in the last 12 months.

If WWE offered the right kind of deal I dont see why White would stop it.

He already let him in WWE12.

It probably depends on what UFC want to do with brock going forward but if WWE said... we want brock vs taker or Stone Cold at next years mania with brock going over in the end I could see that happening.

Nothing right away though...I wouldnt expect Brock on WWE until later in 2012 if not even 2013.

I think part of the talks earlier in the year between Brock/White and WWE where to do with a post UFC run in WWE for Lesner though.

He probably knew he was gonna retire after 1 or 2 more fights months ago.

I could see some kind of cross promotion going on for a Lesner wrestlemania match.

IIRR the reason the last deal for Brock to return fell through was that Vince wanted him to start at the bottom again. Now, I imagine that means his pay primarily and probably schedule wise too. It's not worth it to Brock to come back for anything less than his terms (huge money and limited appearances).

When was this?

that cant be true can it?

Vince cant be that out of touch.

Brock was the last Megastar WWE created. Maybe he wouldnt get a deal as sweet as the rock's but he should be treated pretty well.

Have him in a year long angle like rock but maybe Brock has a few more matches at the big PPV's like Summerslam and Survivor Series.

I could see a year long angle centered around Brock wanting to end the streak at the next years mania with brock only on TV every few weeks and only wrestles 4/5 times that year.

A Lesnar/Taker build could work pretty well if done right. Brock is guy people can buy to end the streak, and they do have quite a history against each other.

But these are things current WWE doesn't care about, so the build would be junk.

Wow thats crazy about the WWE/Lesnar negotiations. Vince has just lost it. He puts so much more importance on his own ego than business.
