This wish may be a double edge sword, afterall among all the good anime last year, Blood - C was enjoyable, for the wrong reasons, I think.

The more I think about the ones you enjoy, the more i am inclined to bellieve that you are truly a masochist. stop enjoying rubbish ones for the wrong reasons....

You are most welcome.

I'm now for some hours in 2012 and I am so drunken but I love all people on anime gaf. I was in the last summer a cheap monocle boy but thanks cajunator I'm addicted to moe like a cheap crackwhore.

We love you too man. Have a happy new year.

Happy new years, Stupid moe fans and to you superiour people who love real Anime. May we insult our preferance in Anime in 2012 and years to come.

Kempai!

What about if we like BOTH? I do appreciate the non-moe side of the medium. Just not as much.

Now, now, lets not get ahead of ourself here.

Nah last year was glorious. GLORIOUS.

It will be, since the K-ON movie will be released on Blu-ray in 2012!

Hi jman!

Will buy. Bring it over here licensors. I want to give you my money!

Acchi Kocchi. Art seems familiar.

Late response:

New trailers are revealed whenever comiket happens, and someone mentioned it so I just searched on youtube what was released/leaked.

I saw a catgirl at :39. I'm now interested. Also noticing a trend towards multicolored hair. I am OK with this.

But is it a deconstruction or a continuation? Various magical girl shows have been self-deconstructive for a while.

Thats true, but this goes in a decidedly different direction from most of them. I dont want to ruin anything for the guy above though. Im not going into detail about it.

cabbits

wat

From the synopsis I figured it would be something like this, ill give it a go

A cabbit is a type of creature from the anime series Tenchio Muyo:

None with art-style or tone dissonance though. That's what makes it so effective.

Saint Seiya 25-27

Nice to know Seiya isn't afraid to air suplex a woman into the side of a hard stony cliff.

icarus: Please finish Yami. I also want you to name a show for me to watch in retaliation. I won't flake or drag my heels!

I don't think the wideface style is a noteworthy innovation.

Mostly everything looks like shit but Another will be awesome.

P.A works always makes good shit, please dont be an exception

Angel Beats says you're wrong.

Hanasaku Iroha was good though, and I have some hope that Another will be good, despite not liking the PVs much. There's no way it'll be as awesome as Daily Lives of High School Boys though.

Angel Beats was indeed meh, but that's because the source content was meh in the first place.

The names behind Daily Lives are good, but I still feel doubtful as to how it'll turn out.

Comparisons to School Days were made...

It's nowhere near that bad, but yeah it gets a little crazy.

The tone is more important. It presented itself as a typical magical girl show with something "off" before the wham scene in 3. Stuff like Miyu makes it known almost right away and Mai Hime lacks some key elements of the genre (and is relatively tame anyway).

Madoka is the first of its kind in some ways even if it takes elements from other series. It's like the comparisons made between Ideon and Evangelion.

I can't remember the last good anime I watched intentionally...probably Night On the Galactic PenguinDrum~

That's unfortunate; I can understand the appeal of masochism but I've decided there are too many good shows to watch to bother with anything that's not right now, even if it's got that "so bad it's good" charm. I haven't even continued with Glass Fleet past the first two episodes.

Angel Beats didn't have a source material; it was an original anime. And while Jun Maeda put out some of the worst writing of his life, Seiji Kishi's directorial incompetence and P.A. Works' visual incompetence were also a major factor in the show's failure.

After seeing the pre-airs, I have no doubt whatsoever.

Everyone sees the light eventually. Glad you're on the winning team now.

It's still 5 hours to 2012 where I am, and I'm watching ROTK. Gotta get that triology done before the year changes!

I was under the impression that it was based on the light novel of the same name? Wouldn't be the first time P.A made original stuff using a different licensed name..

I'd like to check it out, where do you guys find this stuff?

Holy hell this season looks like a load of fucking garbage. I guess it is finally time to watch Shuffle.

I'd like to think that the intimate medicine delivery and naked hugging = robot repair were his ideas.

:salute:
Even though I enjoyed Shuffle, your statement is insane. Half of it consists of lukewarm harem antics, a quarter of it is ridiculously over the top melodrama, and the last quarter contains some of the worst writing I´ve come across in any genre and medium.

No, Maeda was approached by Aniplex to write an original anime for them and Angel Beats is what resulted. To the best of my knowledge, the light novel is a collection of short stories that Maeda couldn't manage to fit into the show itself.
