Even though I enjoyed Shuffle, your statement is insane. Half of it consists of lukewarm harem antics, a quarter of it is ridiculously over the top melodrama, and the last quarter contains some of the worst writing I´ve come across in any genre and medium.
Oh you sheltered lad.

Princess Netorare 08:

This is what I imagine cajunator would look like if he were an animu character (and female). Her adoration for that which is moé (and suffering) is compelling.

This show is getting very dark; all dat melodrama! And now Ahiru-chan cannot even confess to her love when it is obvious he wants to get into her tutu. Ahiru-chan </3

And thus the love dodecahedron continues. It's like a harem from the point of view of the one girl who isn't a complete dipshit. Too bad she's obviously gonna get friendzone'd. :(

Too much sadness, have something cute to end the year with instead!

Hoshi o Ou Kodomo

I was all set to come in here swinging with "Shinkai haters gonna hate", but... yeah. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. Visually of course it's beautiful, and I'm still a Tenmon fan, but cutting and pasting a bunch of ideas from other fantasy films, about half of them Ghibli (including one short sequence that was so blatantly ripped out of Princess Mononoke I had to hold in laughter) isn't going to make a masterpiece. Do I regret taking the time to watch it? No, but I don't think I would have missed it if I had skipped it in the first place.

Ah well. At least I still have 5cm/s.

Rinne no Lagrange 01: I'm surprised, I thought you guys were joking. The first half was a bit dull if sexy, but the second half made up for the slow start. I can't believe Nissan is paying people to animate naked high school girls, lol. Will definitely follow.

P.S. I call dibs on the busty-and-surely-a-pop-idol pilot.

The Winter anime season seems okay. I definitely think, when looking back, the Fall anime season will be seen as having had a stronger selection of anime series.

First and foremost, the series that I believe will be one to look out for is Moretsu Pirates. Granted, the theme of space pirates wearing miniskirts doesn't appear to be intriguing at first sight, but as far as the animation goes, it looks crisp. It could very well suck, but one saving grace about the series for me is the studio who's animating it, Satelight. Because they animated one of my favorite anime series in many years, Noein, regardless of how the premise of Moretsu Pirates seems, I have to give it a shot. Satelight won me over with Noein.

I can't remember the last time I've watched a horror anime, so the next series I'll checking out is Another. Animation looks good. Kô Ôtani is the composer, and I loved the music he did for Shakugan no Shana, so I'll be looking forward to keeping my ears tuned in to the series' music.

I'm a bit on the fence regarding Brave10, but I'm immediately drawn to the cool character designs. Since the story is about a group of ninjas being assembled for upcoming wars, I can't help but compare it to the anime series Samurai 7. It had a similar story, and I rather enjoyed that one. I dunno. It might be boring, but we shall see.

I haven't watched the original Aquarion anime TV series, but I was told that you could go into watching Aquarion Evol without having seen its predecessor and still understand the gist of what's going on. It looks like a nice mecha series, so I'll be watching it.

So yeah. That about does it for the shows that I absolutely will be giving a shot. Notable mentions that I may check out go out to Recorder to Randoseru and Prince of Tennis 2. The latter will depend on if I enjoy the original Prince of Tennis series, which I'm going to watch in the near future.

If it is traumatizing and/or terrible, I will watch it and quite possibly assign priority over nice, pleasant things. This goes for live-action and non-Japanese media too.

You know, if you want to watch terrible shows, I'd recommend the recently finished Un-Go. At least you'll get an OP and ED you can genuinely enjoy amidst the general WTFness.

I think that's likely, since it remains to be seen if anything can match the quality of Working'!! and Fate/Zero from the fall, but the best new show of the fall will still be airing (Chihayafuru) and the best show airing during the fall will still be airing (Gintama) and there are a couple new promising shows (thoughh maybe not what you're looking forward to), so I don't think there's any reason to upend tables and walk out.

Noein was great, but that was 7 years ago. You don't have to continue to pledge allegiance to Satelight, especially when none of the staff from Noein are involved.

I'm kind of disappointed that animeGAF isn't taking part of real pic January. Though all of you would be no match for my handsomeness...ess, it would have been interesting to see the real face behind the :cajuns.

Also, seems like thursdays will only belong to persona now and there doesn't seem to be almost any interesting anime for the new season. :[

So Miniskirt Space Pirates, Another, something about ninjas, more Aquarion, more Prince of Tennis.

Turrible season indeed.

Yeah. I was sugarcoating it a bit there, but in comparison to the many quality Fall series I was watching, this season's going to blow. Though, honestly, I don't so much mind that, for a change it's nice to follow a handful of series, instead of 7-10 series.

Personally, every time I watch a new episode of Hunter x Hunter and Gundam Age, I enjoy them. I realize I'm totally in the minority opinion there, but I dunno, they're feel-good anime. So those carrying on to the next season are going to be good for me.

True. Expecting Moretsu Pirates to be as exciting and engaging as Noein is moot. If anything, we should be hoping that it's a remotely entertaining series.

Slam Dunk 65: FINALLY some life-threatening illnesses.

If Kainan doesn't win this I call shenanigans. The deciding match has to be a do-or-die event between Shohoku and Ryonan; anything else will be lame.

The only reason I'm so outspoken in GAF is because of the anonymity. :/

I doubt my posts will change much even with my face out and about. I've posted in the post pics of yourself thread before as well so I don't really care anymore. CreeperGAF *readIcarus* is out in full force, thankfully for me anyways it seems to be reserved for the members of girlGAF. It could happen to male members but gayGAF is chill so nothing has happened as far as I know.

That panty flash was still creepy, even if they handled it in a rather creative fashion. I lost it at the fan club flyer.

Steins;Gate 17-Fin:

Okay, so I'm dropping the 1st person. It was fun, but I don't want to be up all night typing. That's what A Black Falcon is for. XD

Long story short, I loved this. It's been a long time since I started watching an anime, only intending to watch an episode or two, and then marathoned the entire show. I just loved this. I loved the pacing, I loved the story, the characters... and the ending! I'm such a sap, I know that, but I was tearing up and couldn't stop my tears of happiness. :D

I gotta go change my Top 10 votes in the thread... where was that again? >_> *goes to search*

I'll participate, as soon as I get home and can take a half-decent recent picture.

Haha, yep, that's about how I felt too. Sleeper hit of 2011.

Lol, you're no match for all this bishie, son.

It's funny, the only reason I was avoiding this show when it came out was because of how much everyone was talking about it. Sometimes I get turned off by hype, dunno why that is. Now that I've seen it I know, obviously, why the people who watched this really loved it, but man now I wish I'd watched this earlier. >_<

May as well. Here you go, though admittedly this was back in Oct.

Well, this is creepy.

http://news.yahoo.com/japan-cult-member-nabbed-17-years-run-030945153.html

TOKYO (AP) — A member of the doomsday cult behind a deadly Tokyo subway gas attack and other crimes turned himself in to police after 17 years on the run, an official said Sunday.

A Tokyo metropolitan police official said Makoto Hirata, a member of Aum Shinrikyo, conspired with several other members in kidnapping a notary official in 1995 and causing his death. The victim, Kiyoshi Kariya, then 68, was the brother of a follower trying to quit the group.

Hirata, 46, who had been on the run since the summer of 1995, turned himself in at a Tokyo police station and was detained early Sunday, the police official said on condition of anonymity.

The cult also released sarin nerve gas in Tokyo's subway system in 1995, killing 13 people and injuring more than 6,000 in Japan's deadliest act of domestic terrorism.
The cult had amassed an arsenal of chemical, biological and conventional weapons in anticipation of an apocalyptic showdown with the government.

Police say Hirata and other cult members kidnapped Kariya off a Tokyo street and confined him at the group's tightly guarded commune at the foot of Mount Fuji. They allegedly used anesthetics on Kariya to get him to talk about his sister, who escaped from the group after being pressed to donate her land. Kariya died from a drug overdose, police said.

According to court testimony, cult members burned Kariya's body in an incinerator inside the commune and disposed of the ashes in a nearby lake to destroy the evidence.

Love Chloris is the greatest game ever invented. So wrong but so entertaining. And filled with life lessons like "Don't forget to equip your condom first!"

I think it's funnier if you imagine me as a little penguin with a Zelda cap.

OH SHIT SON ITS 2012! THE YEAR OF DOOM.
