Really don't know what to do. My vita is unplayable now. I can't use it for 10 minutes without getting a hard freeze and when I put it to sleep and on charge I come back to the blue light flashing.

I've had 6 arcade games in a row of virtua tennis and it's frozen every single time.

I've turned off NEAR and auto start applications and it's still the same :(

Contact Japan SONY.

try hard reset/reformat... if that doesnt work, then only option is sending it for repair/replacement.

Return it for one that works, just like you would do with any other defective product that you buy

Hmm does anyone notice when you press the power button to put the PSP Vita to sleep after a short while, the PS button flashes blue and stops? What's the reasoning behind it?

Do you have any other games to test?

Someone should make a Minna no Golf 6 OT, I am having so many problems with this game in terms of not knowing what I'm doing because the instructions are crap and there are barely any in game tutorials.

I am trying to figure out how to do the homing shot, as far as I have figured out:

1) You have to hit down on d-pad when deciding impact time (and power??)
2) You have to get close enough to tee for it to trigger homing
3) Using spin club/balls seems to help?
4) Having your character max level unlocks homing as text that appears, but even at Level 1 I am seeing balls do the "burn the grass while moving backwards" thing so I am totally confused

Also, wow I want to unlock Shao-lin as soon as possible LOL. I'm working through Bronze levels now after struggling through Pro, the Bronze ones are getting sadistic "bunker"->"bunker"->"bunker"->"eaten by sand worm hole"

And now for something completely different - either I'm blind or Rayman Origins Vita still has no release date in Japan (it's not even on the "Spring 2012" list in Famitsu).

Feeling the same way. No idea how to use any of the spin or homing options. Haven't play the series for a decade, but yeah, even reading every loading screen, I don't know how to USE these things.

Too bad there's no demo version, if everyone thinks it's so much fun I'd like to try it. :<

It's very fun, but it has gotten really hard and I feel like I can't win because I don't know how to use spins and homing shots, etc. I also feel like I barely get any consolation points when losing, making me feel like I wasted my time. Wish I got more points when losing.

I turned off anything to do with Near and just played tennis for solid 1.5 hours with no crashing so I have a feeling near was making it crash every time it tried to get the location. for the people saying to return it, I'm in Audtralia and wouldnt it be OS issues anyways?

Everything in tennis has double/quadruple shadows.

That white Vita makes me furious. Would it really be that hard to ship out 60% black and 40% white instead of all black? I want, nay, NEED, that white one.

I think that outside of the white and black Vita, having same colored joysticks looks incredibly tacky.

The purple one looks amazing though.

Whoa, played the Power Smash 4 demo and it's true, the game looks superb. Too bad tennis games other than the Mario Tennis series aren't really my thing.

Decided to try buying a game off the Japanese PSN Store. Went with Sangoku Musou Next. It's about 1.4GB and took quite a while to download.

Also tried to use it on my U.S. account, and it would not start. I was prompted to redownload the application, which obviously can't be done. So the Vita is exactly like the PSP was locks downloadable games to one account.

I don't mind account switching, as annoying as it is, but this is likely going to be only Japanese title I buy from PSN.

Sorry which options did you disable in NEAR which fixed your issue?

Yes. Emulating inside the PSP emulator.

here's the fixed link:

"Bring on the ISO loaders"

Fuck these stupid pirates, don't even know that it wouldn't be an ISO given Vita games are on cards. I hope they're banished to PSP emulator realm forever!

One could say, that removing a second OS function on the PS3 would be stupid as well, but hey...

Sony actually stands to make money off of the PSP emulator, they never earned a cent from keeping other OS.

What about the military buying PS3s so they can have super fast Cell servers running on Linux or something?

Not comparable. Outside a vocal minority no one used OtherOS. Sony never made any money off it, unless you count companies/people that bought PS3s to do number crunching but still that would pale in comparison to what they make off selling digital conversions of PSP games.

Fortunately/Unfortunately they can't. The best they can hope for is that their PSP mode sandbox is impenetrable.

Chances are, it isn't impenetrable but likely extremely difficult to break out of. But again... this exploit is actually very easy to patch, Sony just has to fix the affected game on PSN. Once they do that, no one will be able to take advantage of it. PSN downloads are tied to your system/account so they can't be shared either.

Can anyone with their vita near them check something. Put your vita to sleep. Wake it up and at the swipe screen check if you have wireless signal then swipe to the home screen and see if the signal disappears. This is incredibly annoying to me. I don't understand why it disconnects the wireless coming out of sleep for a good 30 seconds when it was clearly connected before swiping...

Sorry which options did you disable in NEAR which fixed your issue?

The two options in settings that say to check automatically and then open near automatically.

is there a list of backward compatible PSP games on the vita?

so far i've got these games working and transferred over:

gran turismo
little big planet
motorstorm arctic storm
modnation racers

i tried transferring over def jam fight for NY but it wasn't listed in the content manager
