How hard is it to get Japanese PSN cards? Thinking of ordering no games and just downloading them digitally since the games I want aren't in stock at play-asia, but the system and 8GB mem card are.
Edit - Found it on play asia and it is incredibly overprice with lots of comment complaints about getting wrong/no codes... Doesn't give me a lot of confidence.

I was considering buying either the charger you linked to, its bigger counterpart (4,000 mAh instead of 2,000) or the 'coming this spring' official Vita external charger. However, haven't we heard that Vitas only charged via USB when completely turned off? If I was to get an external charger, it would be to avoid interrupting playtime when not near an outlet...
[EDIT] Unless these chargers are seen as AC adapters by the Vita? Any Vita owners pick up an external charger that can clear this up?

I don't use a screen protector, as putting one on such a big screen is beyond my abilities. Everything is ok so far.

How does the screen feel to you? Like does it feel really scratch resistant? I'm not planning on dropping it but sometimes things happen. Outside of dropping it in water I can see myself accidentally dinging it. Being this is a touch screen, I'm particularly more cautious about handing it properly.
The plastic on the screen seems to be quite durable. This youtube video shows some idiot smashing a Vita with a sledge hammer. It looks like the thing is pretty solid.

Well, to be honest that's a really difficult question. I don't think it'll scratch anytime soon, especially since I keep it in the Case© all the time, but if you're afraid you'll break it, just use protection. Someone here (twentytwo I think) posted that the protector doesn't make the screen feel worse if that's what's keeping you from using it.
I'm definitely in the same category- the screen's dangerously naked! But no problems here, and I never used a screen protector on my launch day PSP either. So far, so good + microfiber to swipe away fingerprints!
I was always using a protector with my DS but when it came to PSP... I just couldn't put it on, it was too damn hard. Considering the fact that I bought the console used and had it for 3 years it wasn't that bad in the end.

Anyone tried Persona 3 Portable DD on a Vita yet? How does it look and feel?
Bought it on PSN this weekend and I'm debating whether I should play it on my PSP or wait a couple of months and do it on the Vita.
And any news about when Persona 4 Golden will be released? After the GB ER I've been kinda interested in it (why I also bought P3P) and it's one of my reasons (read: excuses) to get a Vita.

If it's anything like MonHan P3rd and FF Type-0 the graphics will look worse than on the PSP because of the upscaled resolution. I'd complete it on the PSP if I were you - if you won't make it until the Vita release, you can always move the save file and continue playing on Vita.

Reading every single page of this thread over the past week and a half has really made me regret not importing a vita to Australia. But I'm sure once it's released here in 2 months it will be worth it. Especially when I have it in my hands and it didn't require any hassles of importing or any issues there may be using a Japan vita in Australia. Im happy to pay the 350$ AUS price tag but still fingers crossed for a price drop, or a game bundled in for the same cost.
So extremely hyped for uncharted, virtua tennis and umvc3.
I'm sure I've read this already but after reading 100 pages in like 9 days I can't recall everything. Umvc3 and virtua tennis are not release titles in australia. If i import these titles will they be playable on an Australia vita using an Australia psn account?

Whoa, upscaling is that noticible on PSP games?
You're the first person I've seen that has said they look worse on Vita despite the perfect doubling of resolution.

The actual screen itself is bigger, so PSP games will be running at a lower DPI (bigger pixels) on a Vita than on an original PSP. Basically like playing DS game on a DSiXL.
He could also be talking about how PSP games look when the bilinear filter is turned on.
There are 32GB cards in Hong Kong, just hard to come by. I got mine on launch day for retail price ($880).
btw. you will find it hard to find somewhere to buy the console by itself, especially the Wifi version. Some of the official partner shops are selling the consoles without bundles but even the official partner shops are selling with markup.
Really? The 3d objects look pretty bad imho, while they looked ok on the PSP. Maybe I'm just over-sensitive or something, don't mind me. Still, I was waiting with my second Type-0 playthrough for getting a Vita and I wouldn't trade the analog-stick-camera for anything.

anyone got any photos of the hori 12 or 24 card case? Wondering how big it is compared to the Vita, and also how the 24 works (does it have 'pages' to hold the cards on, is it a lot bulkier than the 12)?

Strange, I thought the upscaling would kind of smooth out the graphics somewhat since it usually has the side effect of blurring the image a bit.
Will all games be available on PSN? I'm a sucker for nice collector's editions and even on PC I buy the physical editions of Steamworks titles, but in the Vita's case I kind of inclined to go DD only.

I do not see why not.
It would authenticate via PSN so it should if they work on PSN.
If the PSP playback on the Vita is working properly, there should be absolutely no blurring of the image of the Vita (unless you've got filtering turned on).
The Vita's screen resolution is 4x that of the PSP, meaning that one PSP pixel would be created by four Vita pixels. In that case, you should be getting an exact copy of what you saw on the PSP, just one inch bigger.
While I do think "upscaling" is still the correct term, the process here isn't the same as some people are thinking. This isn't a case where a lower-resolution image is having to be resized bigger to an incompatible resolution, who've is where that blurring results.
Unless Vita bumps up MotorStorm AE's appeal, I wouldn't bother buying it for online play. The servers are pretty barren, and those who are left are hackers who've broken the game.
oh, i have a few friends that are motorstorm lovers and especially AE so i'll have my online fix for sure. Plus i wanna have some psp games to to re-enjoy on vita's screen

It feels a lot like the screen on my Galaxy S II, very smooth and easy to work with, but it does get the fingerprints eventually.

Well yeah, the image is pixelated and therefore (in my opinion) it looks uglier than on the PSP.

i think it looks better on for 3D games, better off for 2D. as the filtering works pretty well, i'd say the colour depth and screen size make 3D games look better on vita than PSP, on balance.

does the vita render PSP games in 24/32 bit colour or something? Does it reduce/remove the horrible 16 bit dithering in transparancies?

It's kind of disappointing that it doesn't actually increase the game resolution to the Vita's native res.
It expands the image size but since the Vita's native res is twice the PSP's res (hence 4 times the number of pixels) it doesn't blur, but each "game" pixel takes up 4 screen pixels.
Still, I think I'll wait and play P3P on the Vita.

You cannot do this unless you modify the code of the application. PSP applications are done with a certain resolution in mind. Is not like a PC application that has been coded to work in several resolutions.

I can't verify this myself but I'd be shocked if it did as it would cause a lot of emulation headaches. PSP is quite capable of 24 bit colour already, but most of the games didn't use it. I wonder if the filtered mode would make the dithering a bit more pleasant.

Damn I want to import one so bad! I just wish the prices weren't double what the US version will be. Also,some of the games are almost triple the cost as well. I imported the PSP and don't remember the prices being so high. (looking at NCSX prices)
I only have one game that runs in 16bit (waiting for US store to openGraphics Horse said:
