If "teengirl angst" were extremely popular around here, Ano Hana would be one of the most beloved shows of the year instead of one of the most disliked.
That's not saying a whole lot.K-ON is the best slice of life series of the past 5 years, at the least. Maybe more.
How is it you guys managed to watch old animes without any problem? Hulu is blocked for me So I got no other access.
I will. You guys praise it so much, i've eventually gotta try it. Edit:or not.
First comes Ano Hana
I bought tons of old shows years back for this specific reason.
K-ON is the best slice of life series of the past 5 years, at the least. Maybe more.
Nope. It is objectively the best slice of life in a very long time and for a long time to come.It wasn't even the best slice of life of its season.

Okay, the more you broaden that statement, the closer you get to Honey & Clover and then we are going to have a problem.Nope. It is objectively the best slice of life in a very long time and for a long time to come.
What's a good authority on anime genres? I'm looking at ANN and My Anime List. The latter is more broad with slice of life than the former.K-ON! is better than Ano Hana. However, if it counts as slice of life, Wandering Son is better than K-ON!. (Disclaimer: I have not watched all episodes.)
Damn. Hopes of running a Hottest Mexican contest between trejo & Reg: dashed.
This years goal ghoul be to get everyone to watch Violinist of Hameln. We had great success with Utena and Tutu last year.
Nope. It is objectively the best slice of life in a very long time and for a long time to come.
This is not a bad idea, actually. It also has the added benefit of making people more appreciative of animated shows that are actually animated.

Best SoL I've seen is Aria, although I'm on ep two of Honey and Clover
It's taken me years to watch Aria the Origination, I like knowing that There's always a new unseen episode, and that feel will be lost once I finish it.
I finished Needless, and needless to say, the anime is ok. It needs less episodes to condense the show and concentrate the animation budget. There was no need (less is always more) for all the fanservice.
Ultimately in the grand scheme of things I find this show...
Pretty good.
Bakemonogatari 1
Er, that was alright. Had I not been warned about the ~20 second pantyshot and ensuing attempt to lightly coat it in self-awareness (rapid eye zooms!) I probably would have been perturbed.
SO FAR the male lead has not yet hit a 10 on the Key-a-like Insufferable Douche Protagonist Scale and that is always nice to see.

The lead of Bakemonogatari isn't really a douche from what I've seen; he's just your average friendly, helpful, perverted harem lead. Plays a good straight man against Senjougahara.albeit with a disturbing love of violence against elementary school students
Why is it that Agent Aika has such a glorious 90's butt-rock OP?

Even looking past all the hype, K-On is one of the best series to come out in a while.

Senjougahara seems like a pretty identifiable character so far. I also like to keep mounds of sharp objects hidden in my skirt.

Good god, just stop watching before it's too late.Ano Hana 3 & 4
Still progressing well, and i'm still enjoying it. It hasn't matched the initial impact I felt from episode 1 and 2 but it's worth continuing for me.
Once again, the statement is correct, but further detail is required.Chiwa Saitou as Senjougahara is great. Sometimes the dialogue in Bakemono can get dull, but never with her.
I must warn you; that episode 3 is a REALLY terrible episode, and probably the worst episode in the show.
The rest of the series past that is pretty enjoyable tho, barring one arc. (which I don't remember really but everyone tells me it's bad).
Agent Aika 3:
Oh hey, now we have 2 women with tentacle-rape monster super-suits. This just keeps getting better and better, and in good ways!
Plenty of pantsu and pantsu and pantsu and boobs in this episode, but I think we could have guessed that.
The ED artwork is pretty awesome, and in a show full of awesome artwork, mostly of women's crotches, that's saying a lot.
The strangest thing about this show is the completely serious and straightforward overarching story. It's just like any other sci-fi anime involving a bishounen mad scientist, his flying secret rocket base, and his super-weapon he wants to use to destroy, I mean, save the world with.
This show is so incredibly 90's, though. The music is 90's, the art is 90's, the sound effects are 90's, everything about it screams the 90's. Well, the pantsu screams the progressive future of anime, a future we can all get behind!

SECRET BASE!!!!Good god, just stop watching before it's too late.![]()
SECRET BASE!!!!
It's a :firecajun song!Secret base is a really nice song.
Cromartie is more plausible than a lot of harem anime.cromartie being the least realistic is a joke

The term "slice of life" has nothing to do with realism as far as I understand it. It could still be the cross section of an absurd character's life and be their everyday life. Nichijou is slice of life as fuck but nobody probably has a life of talking sassy black cats or goat suplexing.
