I'd hate to explain that $50 purchase to my wife.

Oh its the thing I bought last week for a penny, but the internet got mad at me so I spent $50 to buy it again!

Also, you should read the insults on the podcast so we can judge them like we judged you
 
Listening to this weeks show. I had no idea 1. there was a P1P thread and 2. there was GAF outrage over paying a penny. What a crock. I assume these people bitching flog themselves to repent for buy one get one free sales and wear a celice during the steam sales.

mik, if you want to cop out and give to charity out of shame, how bout giving me your first round pick.

hehe, the Steam Sales GAF thread is pretty awesome at seeing frugality at its worst.
 
I paid $5 this time to get the two extra games, but every other time I have paid a penny. I certainly wouldn't have bought them otherwise. That's one more penny than they had yesterday.

If you mean the song intro--that was my fault. In my defense, Greg and I both would rather hide behind Phil than feature our own vocal stylings. :)

No, the overall audio mix is and has been garbage. It's the only podcast I need to adjust audio for, and in this weeks episode CJ is crazy quiet. It's to the point where I have to go into Downcast's settings and set the P1P volume to automatically play at +3 (the highest it goes)

If it gets fixed, I will donate a penny.

I haven't noticed it in previous weeks but you're right the mix wasn't great this week.

A quick run through Levelator after editing would sort it out CJ.

Saying that, I got the impression Sewy edited this weeks?

Generally it's just quieter than other podcasts overall. I need to adjust the volume and pretty much can't listen to it while running because it's so quiet. For example I usually have the headphones turned all the way up and the car stereo at 13 when listening to other podcasts. For P1P the stereo needs to be at 20 or so.
 
I'll take responsibility for it. I edited the show this week.

I'm doing this week's show as well. I'll give Levelator a try.

As Game of the Forever, Dyhard with Infinite Stairs is sort of out of the running for GOTY.

OMG that intro sooo well done it was awesome.

Also on the parents website thing yeah now that the "gaming generation" has grow up and has kids its weird that is really is not a well know website.
About videogames for kids telling you if the games are actually good.
 
was really glad Phil brought up the putt-putt games when talking about children games. i grew up on those type of adventure games like Pajama Sam and Freddie Fish and think slow paced games where its more of a list of things to do are easier for children to understand.

also Child of Eden is totally Mikes number one game for this year.
 
Episode 2 of Generation 16 is up.

There are plenty of spoilers from Phantasy Star 2, so if you haven't played it yet and still plan to you might want to skip the first 12 minutes.

Edit: Super Daisenryaku looks pretty awesome. Is there a fan translation of it?
 
If anyone has any suggestions on good screen capture software for the mac, I'd love to hear them. I'm currently using iShowU HD for Generation 16, but I can't get better than 30fps from it.

I'm considering Screenflow, but really don't want to take a $100 plunge without being sure I'm getting the right thing.
 
I think it does. I messed with the settings a bit more on this second round, but I'm still not totally happy with the results.

Just finished listening, great episode.

I added quite a few games to my pile after the recommendations, one of them being Minecraft. Phil's description of it is almost exactly what I love about my own GOTY, Dark Souls.

As long as you can buy into the aesthetic, you should love it.
 
Excellent episode. Second only to giantbomb in GOTY awards this year IMO. I understand how mik's kids effect his opinion towards LBP. I have a notpad file on my desktop at work with my GAF GOTY write up in progress and Dungeon Defenders will be my number 1. In part because I think its a fantastic game but also since I played local coop with my kid and that was a ton of fun.

That said, fuck LBP! Terrible controls :P Someone just give me Mario or Sonic with level creation and I will thank you

And I had forgotten that Tiny Wings was 2011. Time to adjust my GAF GOTY rank.
 
I support SMB 3D Land as a legit game of the year choice. I got numerous pennies worth of enjoyment out of it.


Little Big Planet 2?! Haha; forget Humble-Penny-Gate, this is the real travesty.
