What is the thread title referring to?
Since this is another lost season for the Suns, I have 3 primary interests for the season.
- Gortat's development
- Lopez's development
- Morris' development
The last has become a real point of interest for me, I'm on some serious Morris kool-aid right now. I was very underwhelmed when we drafted him but after only a few games, he already seem like our best pick since Amare (not comparing his skill to STAT in any way). I don't know how many guys we've brought in to supposedly play D and rebound, but this kid actually does it. He's Amundson with size sweet Lou wish he had. He can actually score inside but has the shooting ability to stay on the floor in our ridiculous chucking system. I guess I can look at it as Amare had to learn his shot to increase his game whereas this kid already has it, just isn't the scoring monster Amare is. What impresses me the most is how composed he is, the kid is always focused and never gets over excited. His interviews sound more like a veteran than a rookie. With no off season he's put up solid numbers every game but the one where he didn't get to play for some bizarro reason (I think it was OKC).
It's hard not to roll your eyes at bringing in Redd but hell, it's Grant Hill's situation all over again. He hasn't really used his legs in games for a few seasons so they are fresh. He's younger than Grant so why can't our staff work their magic on him? If he returns to form and or Dudley and Brown can hit double figure points each game, we could make the playoffs. Do I expect us to do much there? Hell no.
