Gimme some advice GAF'ers.
It's just after new years, I was supposed to go back to work today, but i've taken not well. I have an upset stomach and everytime I stand up I want to puke, because I feel so dizzy.. I've been told that when the symptoms disappear Ive not go to into work for 48 hours. Because I work with food.
That obviously means on my first day back after new years I phoned in sick, and I only started this job about 3 weeks ago. I am also genuinely ill, not hungover.
I got a phonecall from a blocked number which hung up right away which I assume is HR trying to catch me out. My mum knows the accountant at my work and she seems to think im going to get fired on monday when I go back.
Are they allowed to do that, isn't there a system that you get fired only if you call in sick waaay to often?
Im kinda hoping im still ill tomorrow because then I can go to the doctors and get a note from them. Help me GAF! This is going by UK law btw.
Also, H.Protagonist should be banned from participating in this event.

Heh. I think there was maybe 5 guys in mine out of like 50+ women. The looks on their faces when we had an open discussion about sexual harassment/assault, I felt bad. For us it was *nod head* *yeah girl been there*. For the guys, who were probably decent dudes it was like soul crushing because just about every woman there had a story to tell.

In all seriousness though, I've been harassed by men and women, and I would bet many other guys have as well. I think there's a stigma involved with admitting that as a man, which is probably why guys shrug it off or joke about it so much.

Yep, my old laptop had no battery and would instantly turn off whenever the plug accidentally got pulled. Sometimes chrome could restore my tabs but often it couldn't.

Oh yeah men/boys get sexually harassed/assaulted and it's sad that the pressure on them is to keep quiet, especially when their predators are even more prolific. Just look at all these coaches were only finding out about now.

It would probably be healthier for men and their ability to maintain relationships if they would be more open about harassment.
But to a large extent, men are pressured to just take it jokingly.
I did get chatted up once by a homosexual guy in a gay club. lol
It was more like a gay & straight club though, with different dress codes for each. Straight people needed to dress smart, while gay people it was more casual. It didn't stop gay people trying to chat you up though.

Yep, I rememeber there was a thread here in the OT about a police officer who was sexually assaulted and he suddenly understood why victims didn't open up about it due to the shame.
