Oh yes.

This reminds me that I have to get around to 1001 Arabian Nights and Cleopatra: Queen of Sex.

Cleopatra is a must.

Green Caesar is best Caesar!

Got up to date with Phi Brain. Hrmmm...I kinda like the idea and I keep watching it, yet is seems really odd since you really don't get to see much of the actual puzzles. He just goes "It's Puzzle Time!" and solves stuff.

I don't know if this is true or not, but I read somewhere that there's another program that airs immediately after each Phi Brain episode going back through it and showing how to solve each of the puzzles. That would explain why they never bother to do it in the show itself.

Huh. I wonder why no one bothers to pick up that show.

Sailor Moon 15

Well how do you try to top an awesome tennis episode? There’s really only one thing that can do that, and it’s some potential
N-T-R!! baby
along with the premise of the dangers and evil doings of big business destroying the local environment, a theme which I do support 100%. Everyone should hug some trees.

Episode starts with the suddenly kind of badass Tuxedo Kamen Mamoru (the show finally told me what his name was this episode) saving a poor cat. Very neat how that scene just casually tied all the characters together in a completely nonchalant matter.

Rei is a bigger love airhead than Usagi, truly amazing. That is some borderline stalker stuff but it paid off. It’s actually all a bit jarring as it doesn’t match what I thought her personality was at all from earlier episodes.
God damn that NTR. Jealous Usagi is so adorable.
Poor Umino ;_;

Never again will I mess with squirrels.

Perhaps my favorite part of this episode is how Rei and Usagi are doing their own things while Ami is the one taking all of this seriously. Because the theme of the episode actually matters to her and she’s not goofing around trying to get laid like the other two girls.
:lol at the two girls stealing Usagi’s line <3

This really is Ikuhara at his absolute finest.

Chihayafuru 2

The characters are so, so good. Arata's accent is also damn cute.

Fuck taichi, ill slash my wrists if he ends up with Chihaya.

PGSM Ep.38

After turning my world upside down last episode I was hoping that there would be some sort of explanation in this one. It turned out to be 10% Character development, 10% Explanation, and 80% flashbacks; However, I enjoyed the flashback sequences more than I probably should have in a budget saving episode.

Princess Tutu 12:

Classy censoring.

Very slow episode building Ahiru and Fakir's relationship.
It seems that my suspicious that Fakir will become her partner were not unfounded. The bad part about this is that it seems that the climax of the first cour will rely on her fulfilling Tutu's destiny of confessing her love at her own expense. Hopefully she will be able to realise that her adoration for Mytho is not real love, but just admiration for the prince.

Kraehe keeps being awesome, even in her slutty sideboob tutu. I'm very hyped about the season finale!

Aika Zero 1:

HD PANTSU! HD PANTSU! HD PANTSU! HD PANTSU!!!!

Aika Zero and R-16 are connected in that they feature the same cast of characters, although this time it seems they realized that Young Gusto was pointless and just wrote him out. Young Aika, now 19, once again joins Eri and Karen for an adventure which involves lots of pantsu, moe moe Aika beating up moe moe girls while everyone shows us their pantsu, boobs, and also lots of pantsu.

This OVA was made in HD with the intent for release on Blu-ray disc. As such, it features many pantsu in HD, in addition to boobs. It's clear at this point that what story there is in R-16 and Zero are just thinly veiled excuses for the camera to point at girls' crotches, which continues to be disappointing when the original series went so far out of it's way to have a real, if straightforward and cliched, story during which it happened that you could see many pantsu and boobs.

The real disappointment of R-16 and Zero, then, are the fact that while in the original Agent Aika series, the pantsu were there but didn't prevent from there also being a cohesive story with a satisfying resolution, in the two new series, the story is clearly there only to ensure the viewing of the pantsu and for no other reason.

Do you think others take a glance at animeGAF and flee in absolute terror?

Nope, I'm sure others glance at my and Pdot's viewing of the Aika animes as entirely normal and representative of healthy media consumption habits. Also, pantsu.

With all the pages with Bakemono, hair, moe, and etc pics I would assume so. What I don't understand is where this thread gets 65k views from. Is it from the regulars that keep clicking here or guests who haven't been accepted as members yet?

Bakemonogatari 10

Underwhelming ending to a weak arc. Nadeko doesn't have much of a personality or a very compelling issue, and there's not enough Senjougahara. I'm glad it was only two episodes.

K-ON! 10

Another beach episode? It's funny how these coincide with my least favorite episodes of Bakemono.

You people who like yue are perverts.

Go hit on some grade schoolers or something.

Chihayafuru - 13

Another quality episode - reassuring that at least one show will stay consistently good.

You can already hear the bells ringing for Taichi's romantic funeral. The "problem" with having decent characterization is that there aren't these one-dimensional shoujo love interest douchebags that you can root against . . . fucking Arata, why you gotta be so sympathetic?

About as close as Taichi will get to Ayase at this point. When she's unconscious.

Yue is major gap moe. For a while, she's considered the stoic and silent "doesn't give a fuck" type, but she quickly gets a personality and we're even informed of some embarrassing bladder problems. What was once nothing more than a sidekick to Nodoka establishes herself as one of the more important characters in the series. She also has some awesome hair.

GAP MOE!

Nadeko's was easily the weakest arc. The last arc is quite good, though.
Only because of Nyanekawa

Infact, I don't quite get GAF's obsession with bakemonogatari. It's good, but you guys are having a field day with it, every damn day when it comes to discussing it.

Chihaya is an equal-opportunity swooner.

These threads aren't normally so heavy on the Bakemono talk, but several people including myself are watching it at the moment since Nise is coming out soon.

Way to be the worst big sister every Usagi! Episode was sweet sweet filler, but it had extra Sailor
Luna
sprinkled on top...so I'm cool with it.

Yes, if solely for the SAKUGA near the end.

You obviously weren't here when they were having group orgasms every Thursday while Hurrdurr-Pinguindrum was airing.

All of OT lurks AnimeGAF, actually. They are just not shameless enough to post in it.

This is actually entirely true.

You obviously weren't here when they were having group orgasms every Thursday while Hurrdurr-Pinguindrum was airing.

But Penguindrum is at least watchable, Bakemono is like an exercise in how long you can take being bombarded by a litany of stupid.

I can attest that watching that sakuga presentation changed my life. Or at least the way I look at anime. I've begun noticing and appreciating excellent moments of animation, watching the monthly sakuga videos, noticing the styles of individual episode directors and key animators, and caring a lot more about the staff behind the shows I watch. In general, I'd say my time in Anime-GAF has made me a more critical and discerning viewer, not just with anime but with film in general, so I'm glad I've spent the time here that I have.

Fortunately, you can do all of the above without actually becoming 7th.

This is the problem with bakemono. If you go in with any expectations at all, you will get burnt. I got a fair share of enjoyment out of it because I went in without anything in mind.

I went into Bakemonogatari expecting to enjoy it, and despite some problem spots I have. Go me!

Aika Zero 2:

I really wish they would make a proper sequel to the original Agent Aika. They could even use her new appearance, I don't really care that much. But things would be so much better with the old cast back instead of these new characters, who really aren't that interesting.

For some reason, Aika's eyes are blue in Zero. They are green in both the original series and R-16. I don't even know why I notice this, since I'm constantly being shown pantsu and boobs and that is supposed to be drawing my attention, not Aika's face.

But Penguindrum is at least watchable, Bakemono is like an exercise in how long you can take being bombarded by a litany of stupid.

You can be my nakama in the Bakamono Sucks Club. There's a few of us here, though we are constantly besieged by people who see something redeeming in that boring show.

Hey now, it's not stupid all the time. Sometimes the characters have to shut up for fanservice to happen or a fight scene!

I went into Bakemono expecting ass slapping a verbal abuse in episode 2.

I was not disappointed.
