RPGaf, is there anything better than sleeping in on your day off?

And LAGaf, how awesome is this weather?? I feel so blessed to be walking around in shorts and a tee in January

Hey, I can walk around in shorts and a t shirt for a good four minutes before risking frostbite here in Ohio.

The only thing bad about sleeping in is then realizing that you wasted half your free day sleeping. Then again, this may only be my problem because I will sleep till noon.

Silly question, but isn't there a Pokemon that looks a lot like that?

You're in LA?

That means your hot dog truck must also be in LA. I would like to support your business with the purchase of one of your finest franks. Where is the truck going to be this week?

That's what I'm doing/did (laptop in bed hell yeah).

Now I'm watching Derren Brown NLP videos because I think NLP is fascinating but I'm not 100% sure it's not bullshit.

Laptop in bed club! You'll have to let me know what your verdict on NLP is, I'm in line to believe its BS.

Yes indeed, food truck capitol of the world, haha. You should come by sometime! I recommend coming out to Meltdown Comics (in Hollywood) on a Wednesday night (we're there every Wed.). They just opened an art gallery next door and have been doing a residency with Kevin Eastman's (of TMNT fame) art. They have free booze, comedy shows, sometimes live music, and last night they even had a tattoo artist giving out free tattoos. It's seriously the most fun you could have on a Wednesday night.

I can never even start a damn workout. I am getting fatter too :( Any suggestions to whip me into shape?

Lmao. Sad but true :P

Just thrown on music you want to move your hips to and bop around. Stretch a bit and let loose. That gets the blood going (and motivation).

I don't know if we should risk turning this thread into a losing weight argument.

There's only one surefire way to lose weight... tapeworm. It works! :D

Lucky! And, I wish I'd known it would be this nice. I wore a thermal shirt today (bc I'm usually cold all the time) and after biking to work I was radiating heat like a furnace. :(

Yeah. I get up normally around 5:30, so while sleeping in is good, it's just a matter of waking up at 7 or 8.

Yeah, I used to be a late sleeper, but I like the morning too much to do that anymore. A couple of weeks ago, I had the freedom to sleep in as much as I wanted, and I was still up by 8:30 (usually am up between 6-7).

Sleeping in, yes. Sleeping too much? I can't do it! I hate the idea that I might be wasting time that could better be used elsewhere. Usually if I'm sleeping in that means I'm just getting the normal amount of sleep I'm supposed to get :<

Neuro-linguistic programming.

To put it (overly) simply, it's using words to affect someone's behavior.

Here's a good video with Derren Brown and Simon Pegg about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=befugtgikMg

Thank you! I will watch.

As an almost 5 year member of Parent-Age, I am jealous of all those who get to sleep-in on their days off.

I remember being 5 years old and waking up my parents at who knows what hour for who knows what reason. Thinking back I feel bad about it. Also jealous of the amount of energy I had at 5 years old.

Remember when the thought of taking a nap was terrible? I'd give anything for nap time nowadays.

I remember in Kindergarten when they had nap time I could never sleep. I'd just lay on the mat and stare at the ceiling for however long it was. I heard snoring from the other kids though. I guess they had the ability to fall asleep at the drop of a hat. I've always had trouble with it.

GAF could never decide on a name. They'd be too busy arguing whether or not the baby should have a circumcision and how much I should tip the doctor.

We already conducted the poll, Timedog won. Congrats!

Also, 12+ years? I'm going with Iron deficiency based in anemia! */doctorGAF*

Hope you feel better soon.

Yeah, usually the reason is "I'm hungry. I want breakfast!" Which I guess is a legitimate reason, but don't these kids know it is Saturday? ;)

You know what else sucks? Daylight savings time. Turns out kids don't care what time the clock says it is, they will wake up the same time they always do.

My issue with naps is getting back up after them. Sometimes I can lay down for about 15 or 20 minutes and jump back up feeling refreshed, but if I lay down for around an hour or more, I pretty much feel done for the day.

When I first learned to use the toilet, the only one I felt was "safe" was the one in my parents' master bathroom

So at all times of the night I'd just walk in really loudly, turn the light on (darkness was bad, you see), turn the bathroom light on and not close the door, realize I didn't need to go, announce "I WAS WRONG" and then go back to bed without turning off any lights.

I'd do this several times a night and early in the morning.

I was the best kid.

I couldn't either. I think my friends and I just made faces at each other from our cots. Now, I'm always tired.

I always feel worse after taking naps.
It's either sleep or no sleep.

Same, but sometimes it's either take a nap or fall asleep against my will.

I'd love a nap, but whenever I try to just catch a 1/2 hour refresher it turns into an 8 hour dead sleep and I wake up confused.

Yes! This always happens to me. Being confused when waking up is the worst feeling ever. I always seem to wake up having no clue what is going on or where I am.

I've been in Arizona so long that I've forgotten what pants and jackets were. This is every day for me.

Ever woken up at night, thinking it was the morning and you were late for class/work? I once was rushing to get ready in five minutes and got downstairs to find the rest of my family enjoying dinner.

Ideally, you want to sleep for 30 minutes max.

Any more than that and you fall in to deep REM sleep. That's usually the cause of the "Oh god why did I do this" feeling when you wake up.

I don't know if that's my current problem, but some of those symptoms fit my problem when I was 12. I had just gone vegetarian (no longer a vegetarian, by the way) so it made sense at least. I had the oddest craving for ice and couldn't get enough of eating it.

Actually, the sad thing is I would actually love to have those ice cravings again. I'm serious, back when I wanted it sucking on an ice cube was the most delicious thing I had ever had (and will ever have. It was that good.) Now it just tastes like ice. Weird the things your body will do to you.

At least I didn't have a craving for dirt.

Water can sometimes taste absolutely delicious to me. It depends on what it is I was eating before it. Water after oreos or sticky rice tastes amazing.

I spent Christmas with my sister and her family. She has two kids - age 2 and 3. The amount of energy those two had were endless. They kept jumping on me, wanted me to chase them around, play patty cake, etc. It totally wore me down by the end of the night. All I did was drive up there and I already wanted to take a nap.

It's awful. -_- Confused, then mad that you wasted the day. Everything wasted! ;_;

Man, what an awesome idea! Would have been even better if they still had the MvC2 arcade machine, but no. :<

Wish I could. I'm too far now! :(

If I take a long nap I wake up, take a shower, get dressed for work, and then see that it's 5pm on a Sundays.

This has happened to me so many times...

Water when you're honestly thirsty (like after a good workout) is the best thing ever. It's actually one reason I love to workout. Having water after is so good!
