Nice, may have to pick it up again. Sounds like I missed a bit of Canute action as well.

A little, yes.

But the series has been a total tease. I was expecting farmland arc to end a couple months ago but it just kept dragging. Even now, while it seems like it's going to end, I can see the author extending it.

Wait it's still on the farming arc? LOL.

Ridiculous, isn't it. It's been more than a year and a half in this stupid arc.

Sailor Moon 19

HELL YEAH. YURI SHIPPING TIME.

Oh dear. Nephrite is in a world of trouble already.

Well his plan this episode is a good one. The one common link in almost her successes is the
appearance of Tuxedo Kamen.

... when the hell did she fall for THAT GUY? I can't recall that ever being teased at any point before this episode. I feel like I must have missed something. This pairing is incredibly awkward and seemingly out of left field.

The
NTR
wheel of fate is turning, rebel 1, action. Poor Rei is the on the opposite end of the love beatdown this time around (or so she thinks anyway).

Damn that is one sick plan by Nephrite.
Putting them onto the Tower of Terror without them wearing any seatbelts is pretty villainous.

Guess the mask works after all. Too bad Sailor Mars called Sailor Mercury, Ami, right in front of Tuxedo Mask. I guess her cover is blown or not cause Tuxedo Mask wasn’t paying attention or something? The hell is this garbage? If you’re going to use code names to hide your identities don’t suddenly stop doing it!

Damn Zoisite got told. I wonder who comes out on top of this pairing.

Special A - 1

Why do the characters look like french fries? I can't tell from the first episode if this will have a decent payoff in the later episodes. Is it worth watching GAF?
The show fucking sucks in every way imaginable in my opinion, I'd bail given a second chance.
This is the same person I watched all the horrors of KEY with
except tbh neither of us could make it through Angel Beats
You made it through Kanon and not Angel Beats? I'm not saying Angel Beats was good but it was an easy watch.

:( At least you're making decent money, right? Take a vacay

Its not even a huge amount really.
Its enough to live here though because the cost of living here is low.
I am able to pay off bills and save hundreds a month and still have some left over for entrrtainment. So i guess in a way life has also been kind to me. But it leaves me with little time to enjoy what i bought.
Its a terrible tradeocf.
As for vacation there isnt any time for one.

You know I wonder when they're going to give World Embryo an anime.

It's much better than most other mangas that have already received adaptations, and has tons of material to go through.

You think so? I mean I like World Embryo, but it's pretty damn generic in a lot of aspects. Gimped battle shounen in a seinen magazine.

Also, chances of an anime probably aren't too good. The magazine isn't particularly known for getting adaptations.

im still waiting on a breakdancing anime
along the lines of prince of tennis with stupidly exaggerated special moves

Kanon (2006) is easily better than Angel Beats. Even if you completely hate everything Key, there's no denying that KyoAni and Tatsuya Ishihara are more competent than P.A. Works and Seiji Kishi.

Of course, if you were referring to Toei's Kanon, that's a different matter.

There's a difference between being confident in defending your own taste and a bunch of hiveminders criticizing it constantly in the most abrasive manner possible. Not saying that happens here though.
Yes, but I'm not talking about that. We all have our own standards of how we enjoy things, and criticisms are a part of that. If your fun is ruined by hearing others simply voice that, then it's really no one else's fault. Really, anyone who's making things "unfun" is themselves from being easily bothered.

I worded that poorly, I apologize. What I meant to say is being critical and being cynical are not one and the same thing.
From your original post, I thought you meant something like there's criticism, and there's agreeing to disagree, but I'm not sure anymore.

It is, but the plot moves along really well and the characters are all well done. In that sense I think it's one of the better mangas serialized atm.

There are some absolute shit manga that are serialized at the moment that are getting animes in the future like Code:Breaker. Why industry, why?

Damn, that's a tough predicament. It's hard to even suggest moving elsewhere for a change of pace because the economy is questionable at the moment. I hope it all works out for you caj.

I was referring to either, I actuallyl iked some of the gags in each episode of Angel Beats/ Not enough that I'd say the series was any good or even a single episode was good but at the same time it wasn't as painfully dull like Kanon was.

La Princesa Tutú 13:

I wish I had the patience for making gifs. Still images can't do this episode any justice, CGI water be damned.

I tend to sound repetitive regarding Tutu, but the show merits it. This cour finale encapsulated everything that has made this first half not only enjoyable, but emotionally satisfying. Seldom have I watched anything were I felt that no element is out of place (
actually, that would be a lie, because that flashback to the classmates and Mr. Cat felt too much like a cartoon and not enough like a ballet piece
). Putting Schwanensee at the forefront was a stroke of genius. While the piece serves to amplify the emotional drama Tutu and Fakir go through, it manages to overtake the story and makes them seem as a visual representation of the actual piece. Again, the ballet in this is fucking brilliant.

Plotwise there are some big holes (
at what point did Edel save Fakir? where did Fakir fall if the lake was just an illusion?
), but the point of this show has never been included such trivialities. Ahiru's core conflict was handled sublimely, definitely echoing the mantra of "love conquers all" without feeling cynical about it. My only disappointment is that I cannot figure out where this will go at all during the second season. Sure, there's stuff about Mytho
having to fight the Raven and all that shit
, but what about Ahiru herself? It seems that her character arc is done through... or is it?

What a delightful cartoon. Too early to rate it, but I would give it five tutus out of five if I could right now.

¡Polvo de diamante! Entre cuates. :)

Code:Breaker is also popular and in one of the premiere shounen magazines. World Embryo is relatively unknown.

Anyway, I disagree with the characters being any more well done than in most series. Riku is a very standard (albeit rare male example) yandere and the rest of the cast is just as tropey. I do love the concept of lost re-bounds though.

I can understand disliking Kanon's story, though I personally enjoyed the show and didn't find it dull at all. But there is no question that KyoAni's adaptation of it (and there is a fair amount of difference between that and the Toei one) is at least a competent production whereas Angel Beats is one of the most incompetently made shows I've seen, between awkward, confused direction and painfully poor visual composition and design. I honestly don't understand how anyone can stand to watch the latter. I barely made it through the first episode.

He is pretty tropey but he gained some good character development as the series' progressed. As did Rena. I just hate how Moriyama has to mentally torture him every other chapter (
Usually by killing people he gets attached to. I don't even know if Rena can heal his wounds anymore

didn't know Embryo was relatively unknown. Damn shame.

I don't know either. It's not like someone is giving you tags to pressure you into watching something you don't really want to.
If you're thinking of Darkside then that's not what's going on. I haven't told him to watch anything he hasn't volunteered to do on his own. I haven't set a tag he hasn't asked for to begin with. The avatar he actually didn't ask for, but it worked out ok.

I wasn't talking about darkside.

Not that this has anything to do with the current thread or isn't already old or whatever, but I figured I'd post anyways.

My GF and I have been watching FMA:Brotherhood Netflix Instant style over the past few weeks. She's never really watched an anime series before so this is her 1st one. We started post her semester ending, and have been slowly moving through. She's definitely liking the show though as she's into the characters and wants to see how everything shakes out.

So far so good!

After the terribad OVA I'm pretty scared.

Haha, I actually agree that Angel Beats is one of the most incompetent productions I have ever seen however to me competency still can't overcome what it's showing you. I'm not trying to say Angel Beats was a good show or that there's anything to learn from the show for people interested in the premise, I'm saying for every Kanon episode I have watched I was bored 100%(and I admit I finished neither Kanon) and yet every Angel Beats episode made me giggle or smirk for at least 1% so to me which is better is obvious.

I hope you can find greater fulfillment in your life in the near future. You seem like a cool guy.
