Not really. It was around half an hour.
THANK GOD PFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF :O:O:OI'm damn glad that they finally figured out the fucking scouts though. My god.
Bah, I missed it. Was eating lunch. I'll have to check it out when it hits the archive. Was it just them flubbing it in the Ocean Palace again?
They figured out the Scouts, then they stopped playing before anything interesting happened.
Augh, I missed it. Daaaaamn yooouuuuu, real life!
Yeah, to be fair it doesn't really make sense that an enemy who only uses water magic is itself weak to water magic.Pokemon logic screwed up video games - I always think to counter elements, they same way they do, even if I should not.
I think (and hope) that the majority of players would give up on lightning vs. water when they see that green health pop-up. Then think, then try water/ice. Cause I figured that out when I was 13.Yeah, to be fair it doesn't really make sense that an enemy who only uses water magic is itself weak to water magic.
I think most players figure it out when the game literally tells you that only water magic works. Which is pretty much right away. Eventually Ryan and Patrick also bothered to read this text, but it sure took them forever.I think (and hope) that the majority of players would give up on lightning vs. water when they see that green health pop-up. The only thing is I think you can encounter a red/blue combo right away (go to the right IIRC). So if you launch ice2 you get success/fail then the text. So it can be a combination read. It would register before the game calls you out.I think most players figure it out when the game literally tells you that only water magic works. Which is pretty much right away. Yea, I was trying to say even if you ignore the game text it still is an easy read. And even if you ignore how the Magus fight worked it is still an easy read. Green means bad and do the opposite in CT. It's like there were multiple layers of logic here that just were completely absent when they were playing.Ignoring the text that says what to do, I think the 'fighting fire with fire' mechanic of the scouts would be a bit confusing as a one-off, but that is also exactly how Magus works.
I can't wait forIt's gonna be a doozy.the Golem Twin fight!
I don't know how sincere Ryan is but given that Patrick played the game before, he's definitely trolling. Either he's trolling Ryan or he's trolling us.
Yes sirIt'll probably show up on the site any second now.
They're both trolling.
Fixed. This ER is seriously making me hate Ryan. He plays this game like a fucking bumpkin.
Part 29 just showed up on YouTube.

They got VERY lucky with that fight. So those were the Golem Twins that everyone kept saying they wouldn't be able to beat right?
They found standard enemies way harder than them.
Ryan proved me wrong. Not a bad showing against one of the hardest fights in the entire game..!
Basically.Well, to be fair, his general strategy of "spam group magic attacks" turned out to be the right move, and Patrick seemed very keen on actually reading the text prompts after the debacle of the last two episodes.
We're a fair bunch! We're content when they play the game regularly, we bitch when they ignore common sense, forego reading and generally fuck up.People are now happy in this thread?
...I don't understand - are you all okay?
Love how Ryan waits forever to get the enemies close enough to use aoe tech, rather than switching to a more centrally located target. The man is a genius!![]()
They used a normal cyclone and they do not know that you can switch between enemies.Max Cyclone is always centered around Robo.
They used a normal cyclone and they do not know that you can switch between enemies.
Holy shit this is verging on unwatchable.
When did the endurance run change from the Giantbomb team enduring a long game to the viewers enduring a bad let's play? Hmmm...
I must endure.
You can save hours time using proper limited AoE especially early on with cyclone/flame whirl. Not to mention more efficiency and less MP used. And that relies on enemy switching. Also enemy prioritization taking out true threats, healers, etc... So, uh...They used a normal cyclone and they do not know that you can switch between enemies.

About to watch episode 29, just watched 28, but I fast forwarded through some of the battles, so I have a question: did they use Crono's Confuse yet, or are they avoiding it?
The first two times I played chrono trigger I never even read the description. Not only is confuse a misleading name, its a name that feels totally obvious. Why would I bother to read the description of something that's just going to say, 'Confuses an enemy?' I mean confuse even is a legit status effect in chrono trigger. They never even mentioned it, and have never stopped to look at it, and continue to use spincut. /facepalm. I can understand thinking it's a status debuff or something without reading it, but they've never even done that. We may need to hope for an accidental volt bite cast.
I think Patrick remembered pretty much everything that happened in today's ep from his original playthrough.

This one is 66 minutes long. Figured I warn you.
Hahahahah! Yes! The game wins again!
Within 5 minutes of getting it back, they completely forgot that they 1) Have a Time Machine and 2) It can now fly. Then, they suffer for said mistake by having to run through every city in the future and fight battle after battle. This is amazing. I wonder how long it will take them to realize what the 2poch can do. Lets hope it's right after they get the Chrono Clone, otherwise the future is going to be unbearable again.
I guess to their credit, the game should somehow have locked you out from traveling through time without using the Epoch (2poch) just for that first time after getting it back. Perhaps they could have just locked out the time portal in the Dark Ages by hinting at Schala still being alive, therefore her seal on the gate was still active.
