PS Vita US Launch Details (Launch Games, Accessory Pricing)

I thought Lumines has always been worth its price tag. Though I guess Im willing to pay the 40, always had got the previous one for like dirt cheap from gamestop years ago, so it will be good to support them in a better way, unless the digital one will be less, I may get it. I wish it would have support for the DLC for the PS3 Lumines.

Same here, I put way more time into Lumines than alot of games I've played this gen.
My enjoyment of that game is worth more than $15, I will most likely go for PSN version though especially if it is cheaper.

In all seriousness though, for the people complaining about the price, would $29.99 be too much? I'm kinda surprised it not that price tbh

Here is a question. I am a big fan of both BlazBlue and Marvel vs Capcom 3.
I already have these on PS3. Is there anything special to make these Vita versions worth getting, or would it just be double dipping and wasting money?

BlazBlue is the newest version of the game that hasn't been released in the west yet.

UMvC has some exclusive features IIRC, and you can actually use the Vita to control the PS3 version of the game.

I think there are better launch titles to get, but hey.

Thanks.

I see this Extend version is also releasing on PS3 same day. In situations where a game launches on both Sony machines at the same time, PS3 will always win me over so i'll get it on there instead.

I don't know anything about the Vita versions of those games, but I look at it like this:

You have those two games on PS3.

Are there two other Vita titles that have your interest?

If the answer is yes, then get the two new games, and hold off on double dipping.

I don't own the PS3 versions of BlazBlue or UMvC3, so I'd be more likely to pick up the Vita versions. I'll probably get UMvC3 from work around launch, since I get it discounted (Capcom employee). As for BlazBlue, it all depends on if I'll have extra money around launch. At this point, I'm not even sure I'll be able to get my Vita (real world responsibilities trump all). I've been trying to earn some extra cash, but we'll see.

I've already adjusted my gaming budget in general, and there's not much coming out this year that would put me over budget, so I pretty much have the year free for picking up a Vita and some games. Looking forward to it. Smart phone gaming just isn't doing it for me, and my PSP is shit as a portable device (battery is all shot to hell, really, and won't last for very long without being plugged into the wall).

I figure the Vita will be perfect for my bus rides to and from work (an hour both ways).

Now that it's finally January, I feel myself getting pumped for launch. There's some good, and cheap PSN PSP games I got my eye on as well to keep me busy in between Vita releases also.

Aside from making Vita a PS3's controller and an option to use touch controls to do attacks it's the same as the big version I think.

thanks. i'll pass on that too then. though anyone getting vita that has not played MvsC3 i strongly suggest picking it up. one of the best fighting games ever IMO.

Trade in deal at Gamestop and I pre-ordered the Vita and some games.

PS Vita First Edition

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

Uncharted

Lumines

Touch My Katamari

Hot Shots Golf

Fifa

Virtua Tennis

What else should I get? I'm thinking Plants vs Zombies, Escape Plan and maybe Mod Nation Racers.

ModNation Racers, Wipeout 2048, Army Corps of Hell, BlazBlue, Shinobido 2: Revenge of Zen.

Escape Plan is on PSN only, but seems a must. Also Super StarDust Delta.

Army Corps of Hell looks pretty good. Wipeout! Oh man. Plus MLB is.out the week or two after Vita.

Yeah, I believe PS Plus is not involved?

I haven't got a PS3 and haven't played much of my import BlazBlue but I saw mention of this feature.

Edit- I'd go with wario64's info on this

I suck at Lumines. Besides the cool music and intersting visual style, i don't see why it's so popular.
Just seems to be Tetris reimagined by Moby.

Had anyone tried to download the games we got from the psn outage on their vita? Curious how the DD modnation racers looks. Free is free and I never got to play it on my psp before it stopped working.

I'm disappointed that there doesn't seem to be much interest in Modnation. :(

Agreed. I think it might be the best of the bunch of though. I'm definitely planning on getting it. It'll be a nice diversion to "draw" tracks on the vita when I don't feel like racing.

I didn't like the handling in the Modnation Racers PS3 demo or whatever, so I'll probably never play a Modnation game

I bought the PSP version. Just wasn't much fun as a Kart racer, IMHO, and the story in the story mode was obnoxious - like Poochie from The Simpsons was the main character (except he's a sack boy thing, or whatever they are in Mod Nation).

The R. Lee Emery guy constantly shouting during races got old real quick, too. And too much of the game was locked. I don't like games telling me how I should play it - let me decide that.

Chill out guys, y2kev is just quoting Kutaragi when he told Playstation fans to get a second job to buy a PS3 :P

Thanks Wario, I was hoping that he wasn't suggesting that another revenue stream could help Takao reach his goal.

I'm thinking I should make an iPhone app about wanting to get a PSVita.

I love the big screen
So fresh and so clean
All in my dreams
It makes me want to screm

Just make sure the iPhone app can play Uncharted and Wario might buy a copy! ;-)
