Persona 4 12
Lol, Bad End! I guess this is the equivalent of sleeping in all day and night and not getting a game over for failing to rescue someone.
Gotta love the sudden rapid fire persona appearances.
Liked the cook off just as much as it was in the game.

Destiny~

I can't watch that scene without thinking of the best scene in AMV Hell.

Oh wow.

THE IDORUM@STER 20:

Wait...what? Did they accidentally animate the script of an episode of a K-drama this episode? 961 Pro played a dirty trick and switched the scripts while no one was looking and they animated it anyways?

I knew something was up when they didn't show the OP and used the plain black title card all the way from back in episode 1 instead. And then...I wasn't prepared for this. First off, there was a lot of Haruka, who has been pretty absent for awhile now while they focused on the other girls. That was very nice. But then, it got all serious and shit, and somehow they actually handled it pretty well. I wasn't expecting that at all. Then they got to the final song, which seems to have been composed specifically for this show and for this moment, and then I couldn't take it anymore.

Unrelated anecdote follows:

Like most Asians, I have a pretty narrow nose. I wear glasses. Because of the narrow bridge between my eyes, I tend to wear my glasses pretty high on my face so they won't slip down my nose. This poses a problem for me when I am wearing my glasses when I cry, because the lenses of my glasses are close to my face and so the tears get on my glasses and I have to go and clean them afterwards if I want to continue seeing without annoying streaks on my glasses. So now if you'll excuse me, I've got to go clean my glasses before I continue watching THE IDORUM@STER. I'll be with you guys shortly.

The best series is back on TV. Just plug it into my veins and never take it away.

Dat EVERYTHING.

Piano version of Kaerimichi at the end was an especially nice touch

Cardcaptor Sakura sub ep65-70

SKclCl.jpg

dat dream works

Finish off the Fi...I mean collectaton

Not bad, still holds up but I remember why I dropped it now, the clowreed arc is quite boring, the main reason to watch CCS was for all the different fably designed clowcard monster sakura was going to run into/fight/catch every week.

Tomoyo is creepy as fuck but she got style like her costume she makes for sakura.

Card captors is a good example on how you do a magical girl show, but would be even better if they tone down the clamp.

the has fab monster and costume design.

Sub vs dub
sub Sakura is clearly related to uguu~ and should do something about her asthma cause her wheezing is a bit distracting.

The voice in the English uk dub are an infinity time better, no uguu from sakura and everyone sounds lot better especially koro.

Definitely the silliest first episode of the season so far.

Why did they wait until everyone in the stadium was dead to act? Why was Hibiki safe until Kanade noticed her when everyone else in the stadium was brutally murdered? Why didn't she try to run away? Why was generic J-Pop the source of Kanade's power? Why did the monsters stop attacking when she went to help Hibiki? Why was Kanade suicidal about a random schoolgirl almost dying when she witnessed hundreds of people being turned into black blobs of nothingness? Was there anything about this episode that wasn't totally dumb?
I'm inclined to agree... Not a fan of the mood whiplash throughout the episode either.

What the heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck.
The head is on a living body!

Usagi Drop 5:
More adorable by every episode. Daikichi and Rin's relationship is just so tender and caring. It's such a unique relationship, and it really helps the show stay strong.I believe that this show could probably bring about world peace and stop crime if broadcast internationally.

THE IDORUM@STER 21:

One of the most admirable things about this show is how well it handles it's ensemble cast. This goes doubly so when you realize the structure of the games it's based on, where you only work with 1 or 3 idorus at a time, but for the purposes of the show, everyone needs to have time worked in for them.

One supposes that Kotori has fans too, so they squeezed in some time for her as well this episode after and during the tying up of some loose ends from the last episode. The main arc of the show is now over. I guess we're heading on to the denouement phase at this point.

For a show that rightfully should have been little more than an animated advertisement for the games, it has actually turned out to be something that stands alone as a very good show independent of the game franchise that it is based on. That's something wholly unexpected and yet wonderful all the same.

Bodacious Pirates 1

It was... well... a season opening set-up episode, what more can I say. The whole privateer angle is quite interesting to me, but why everyone's out to get the main girl is a bit beyond my understanding. Some of the gags were clever and goofy, but it the only really "bodacious" character was the rather masculine mother. Still, there's nothing I can really say about the show until next week, other than I really don't think I like Marika's voice acting. It sounds kind of singsongy and gives the impressions she's something of a simpleton. Let's see about next episode to see if she can get a bit more serious sounding.

Oh, and I quite enjoyed both the OP and the ED. The OP reminded me of a sort of moe version of Alestorm, and I can't really say I disapprove...

Michiko to Hatchin- last of it's kind

Sweeet now this what am talking about, an anime where I don’t need to be a brain dead otaku to enjoy.

-loveing the style
-guile theme worthy headbutt within the first ep
-done good job showing off how shitty the girl's life is

Looks like mangalobe was late in getting the memo that anime is dead and it's all about k-on clones.

Isnt she supposed to be? Only excels at flying.

Seems pretty sincere to me. I trust you'll be ridding yourself of it soon enough anyway, heathen.
I dunno, I will probably be changing avatars every week as long as Nise keeps giving me material.
as an avatar, for fun, but then that real pic thread popped up and I didn't want GAF to think I was actually some old grumpy Japanese dude. Or a man with fabulous hair.
Wait, is that second one actually Ikuhara when he was going through his Ruka phase?

Princess Tutu 15:

Happy news were not brought.
Interesting developments. This episode reminded me of the Black Rose Saga in Utena, pitting Ahiru against one of her best friends who has, up to now, has been uninvolved to the crazy shit going around. Add to that Mytho becoming the front bad guy himself and the revelations of the machinations behind the machinations. The real catastrophe is not that Tutu will never be able to speak of her love face to face, but that by rebelling against her fate she is still playing into the story of war and strife that's bound to kill Mytho. Such elements may not be anything innovative in the world of tragedies, but they are still heavy concepts or a show with such an innocent aesthetic.

Re: Pike: while she is not a very profound character I did like that comment at the end when she realises she doesn't really like Mytho. It came across as less of a joke and more as a slight moment of maturity, hopefully as a result of Tutu's words to her. She was given at least three different layers of personality in just these twenty episodes. While I do not dislike the fact that the show focuses on Ahiru, Mytho, Fakir, and Rue, it gives off a vibe that we are missing out on meaningful stuff regarding the rest of Ahiru's life. The format may not lend itself to a more Slice-of-Life approach, however. This show is very about "what's happening at the moment" like a play, functioning as a tool for the easier engagement of the audience to the main cast.

Technical issues arise again. There was a lot of still animation on this episode, and the confrontation at the end could have used a bit more oomph. The show has paid off with amazing dance sequences before. I just hope it doesn't cheapen out now that the dance-offs are starting to become a lot more dramatic.

Something fun I just learned: meg rock, the name I kept seeing pop up in all the song credits for Bakemonogatari, is in fact the alias of Megumi Hinata, performer of, among other things, Catch You Catch Me.

Wasn't Michiko e Hatchin before K-ON!?

Were you expecting anything else from Symphogear?

Amagami Plus 1: Poor Hanazono. Losing all his female voters because of porn mags. Then again why stuff as many of those as you would textbooks in your schoolbag if you'd want to have a chance at presidency. Kurosawa and her bunch should just run an old fashioned smear campaign. She's got connections or something right? Sae running for pres is, I suppose, the joke entrant (an absolute requirement in any high school election!).

Ayatsuji is still pretty cool while Junichi is still the same (dat photoshoot and bathing dream).

All in all, it's more of the same Amagami. As long as I don't get trolled to hell again when the time comes. Not enough Nishishishi.

Just imagine how fabulous his gravestone would be.
