Steroyd is an adult. He can make his own ill-advised decisions.

Unlike the poor children who have the misfortune to wander into this thread and are pointed in the direction of School Days.
That was the message of Penguindrum: invisible children only want good anime to watch. AnimeGAF is a Child Broiler for such misguided souls.

Machiko to Hatchin ep2
Just what I needed a nice breath of fresh air , something really unique that isn’t about highschool kids doing animu stuff.
-superb pacing, excellent production value and a nice soundtrack

Machiko to Hatchin ep3
It’s like someone in japan watched one of my favourite movies “City of god” before making this, the town looks like Rio de Janeiro.

What style, her wardrobe must be huge.

Fun fact: very, very few episodes of shows aired on Adult Swim have ever been given a "TV-MA-S" rating. This is one of them.

Yeah that felt like they ran out of ideas of what to fill the last 2 minutes of the episode with.

The way things are going, he will eventually start spelling 'Genesis' correctly!

Reg, YGPM.

Under these circumstances I should get self conscious that I'm spelling genesis wrong, but screw it I spelt it wrong 21 times before might as well go the whole way.

Neon Genisis Evangelion - 21

Rei sure didn't hold back as a kid.

Enough with the talk on terrible shows like Eva (why would any sane person marathon that show?), it's real talk time.

Sailor Moon 35

Wow. That was some Serious Business™, I like the fun, wacky antics that Sailor Moon provides, the kind that makes me feel like a 12 year old girl but it was really awesome to see the show take itself seriously from the start to the end of this episode. There was a TON going on in this episode, maybe more so than any other episode up to this point.

The second opening to the show finally makes total sense now, it was certainly a bit odd when they first debuted it a while back.
Serenity has some ridiculous powers, too bad she doesn’t really have full control of them yet.

Gotta say I feel bad for Rei, there was a brief moment where she realized that her dream of
husbando Mamoru is now completely dead. How could she possibly compete against DESTINY, with Mamoru and Usagi. Or is it Endymion and Serentiy. Whatever.

Queen Beryl might honestly be the worst queen ever. When you are already on the losing end of battles it really makes no god damn sense
to decide to kill one of your stronger soldiers just because you’re salty, especially when said warrior is lovers with another one of your strongest soldiers.
At least that scene provided one of the more Truly fabulous stuff.

The show suddenly gave me a headache, like I was watching Noein all over again.
All that talk about 2D / 3D makes my head hurt unless we’re talking about waifus.
It certainly drove home the point everybody other than Ami is an idiot.

And speaking of other shows I felt like I was watching Fate/Zero episode 1-2 all over again. That was some crazy info dump Luna provided all over my screen. I think I got the gist of it but that was a ton of information at once to digest.

The highlight of the episode was definitely the firehawk12 moment. Where Rei decides to
slap some sense into Usagi and then proceed to chew her out with all kinds of name calling and insults.

Then there was Kunzite. He might have been mad. The way he
soloed all the other girls with basically no effort was boss.
But of course he can’t be too much of a boss,
Serenity decides its time for some untz untz untz, and busts out the grooviest light show ever with her silver crystal pogo stick.

But of course the one big mystery from this episode is just exactly what happened
to poor old Tuxedo Mask? Is he dead? Is he being molested by an old raggedy queen? Has he turned to the darkside?
There is only one way to find out of course.
Well put. It's always nice when the show executes on the more serious plots.

Yeah that felt like they ran out of ideas of what to fill the last 2 minutes of the episode with.
Evangelion episode 20 spoilers:
While the animation was indeed very cheap I think it put up across the idea that Misato is an awful parental figure very well.

Amagami SS Plus 1

Wouldn't be Amagami without the fat girl being sorely neglected. Someone call me once they get around to the new sex hair arc.

Persona 4: The Animation - 13://Being a magical detective girl may be hazardous to your health

Awesome. An episode containing pretty much entirely anime-original content, though it seems to be only part 1 of a mostly S.Links-centric story, this part told from Nanako's perspective. I mean, from Magical Detective Loveline's perspective! "I'll fill you full of holes!"

Most of the episode is a series of vignettes which will be presumably explained in the next episode. A few highlights include: an awesome cameo from Naoto encouraging our young magical detective girl to continue with her case when she feels it can't be solved, a hilarious sequence where Yu is leaving in full military gear with a case used for "Explosive Fishing", and a pretty great little sequence with a slightly hammered Dojima.

This episode is the first part of 2-part arc concerning only S.Link material. It will probably be full speed ahead to the story's end after this.

Oh, right, a new OP. It's going to take some getting used to, as the first OP was so memorable and enjoyable. The ED is the fictional OP for Magical Detective Loveline.

Whaat, THERMÆ ROMÆ is only 3 episodes?

There is a movie in the works so I guess this anime is just to tide us over til the movie release, but still...WAAAAAAH I love this manga! Please let there be more later!

How is the animation in Nisemonogatari? Like, is it passable, or 'don't bother, wait for the BD'?

I'd say about 70% of the time the animation is really quite good. 10% of the time they use long shots so that they don't have to do as much facial animation and 20% of the time they use stills/blocking and other devices to get around doing any animation.

Of course sometimes it's weird and creative. For instance, when Araragi is talking to a girl on the phone we don't the girl talking but when she speaks the leaves on this tree move like they're caught in the wind.

Gurren Lagann Episode 14

Just started 14, show is so fucking good! Just keeps getting better and better. One question though, how old is Nia supposed to be? She is weirdly sexualized for how young she looks.

I'm not sure, 12? Isn't Yoko supposed to be 14? GAINAX, keeping it classy.
Huh? What's the story there?
I only saw the BD version.
The BD version added Nadeko being violently assaulted by the snakes.
I'll survive. *coughs blood*

Oh no, that's the always fatal 'coughing disease'!

Nisemonogatari 1
Ahh Nishio Issin, how I miss the bantering in Bakemonogatari which is now back in Nisemonogatari. Hiroshi Kamiya is awesome and the segment between Araragi and the snail is hilarious.

She's supposed to be the same age as Simon, so... 14 or something?

No, wait, Yoko is 14.

Stein's Gate 1-4

What the hell is happening.... it will get better as it go on right?

Everything are moving so slow, I am afraid by the time I got to the point where they explain everything in the beginning, I won't remember what happened in the beginning. =/

Yes it will. It's not really as slow as something like Shiki either, I imagine you'll have no trouble keeping up.

Utena 26
The confusion continues. Who know's what and why, and what the hell is going on?

Also that
car
sequence gets me every time. So fabulous.

Steins;Gate end

Tearing up so much right now. What a great ending. I was actually expecting
Okabe to sacrifice himself completely so his past self could be happy with Makise after certain events happened, but I'm glad that didn't happen since it would be too damn sad.

This was an amazing show. What started out as a silly minor time travel theory show ended up as an intense, dramatic and heartwarming sci-fi thriller. Okabe went from an amusing troll to one of the most sympathetic anime characters in recent memory. The rest of the cast is also very likable, each having their own vices and troubles that make them quite sympathetic as well. The way
Mayuri became a major focus for a while
was really something I loved. No character felt undeveloped with the possible exception of Daru, but even he got some good development. I suppose
Braun's story arc
feels a bit incomplete, but I'm honestly cool with that.

Any complaints I have are completely overshadowed by how masterfully well done this was. The directing, story, art, animation; it was all great. I really did not expect to like it so much, but man am I glad I picked it back up after watching the first episode on release and then shelving it with the intention to drop. Now that would've been a major mistake.

Gotta gather my thoughts before and if I decide to do a big write-up, but this is definitely going to affect my 2011 list.

Yeah :/. I actually felt a bit uncomfortable at some of the Nia scenes :P

They show her boobs in the second movie.

Carnival Phantasm 2-8, Ilya Castle Special, EX

I thought these were absolutely hilarious. I would be much more of a Type-Moon fan if it was all comedy instead of the serious business they usually are.

You all really just let him sit back and marathon Eva like that? You guys are sick...

Okay, so, Shinkai can do action and explosions, yet he still somehow made Hoshi wo ou Kodomo.

Now I'm even more disappointed.

If it doesn't involve cats he just doesn't care enough.

Those clouds are going to waste, someone tell this man to make a solatorobo movie, if he wants he can change everyone to cats.

Solatorobo_red_the_hunter_art1.jpg

Am not sure if it's going to be any good but am sure it will have some damn nice clouds.
