I find the weirdest things from Reddit's anime board sometimes.

Case in point: a blog post explaining why things like the "Ichika no ecchi" video can so addictive for some people.

Utena 31

There have been hints, but nothing explicit. Now I just don't know what the hell is happening or why. When I wake up tomorrow, I will watch the rest of it all.

Okay the ten minutes of Nyanners eating watermelon is weird.

Steroyd marathoning Eva and you finishing Utena is like Christmas all over again.

What animeblogs can you guys recommend? I only visit RandomC, Hashihime and stumbling across j1mone's blogs . I want something with more anime insight and more seiyuu info.

I admittedly dropped the show very early, but most of the dialogue in those first three episodes seemed incredibly redundant and/or superfluous. I can't imagine most people followed Bakemonogatari because of its character dialogue, at least considering that first arc.
I think many others including myself did.

Yeah, it's basically a radio drama with wacky visuals to keep your attention. And stills and/or selective blocking when they don't wanna actually animate even the random art installation bits.
Yep.

I know AnimeGAF usually hates anime, but from fans of Prince of Tennis, how is the new show?

I love the older stuff so much.
Too early to say with the 1st episode being what it was. Just watch the 2nd episode and decide for yourself then. I'm expecting a relatively similar experience to the 1st series at my detriment.

Sankarea voice casting revealed.

Ryohei Kimura as Chiharu Furuya
Maaya Uchida as Rea Sanka
Yuka Iguchi as Mero Furuya
Sayuri Yahagi as Ranko Saōji

Seiyuu info always used to be hashihime - I don't know whether Kaoru Chujo still posts as much on the performances as he does on idol videos or whatever.

What kind of insight do you mean, though? Production processes or narrative analysis?

You all really just let him sit back and marathon Eva like that? You guys are sick...

It took you that long to figure out everybody here has at least one screw loose?

Wait? School Days is a good show? I thought that was just a running joke.

It's a running joke.

I'm off to watch School Days then! (Yes, this is the fourth time I've put Sailor Moon on the backburner. Judge me.)

Not going to judge you but you just made a terrible mistake. A really terrible mistake.

Where are you in Sailor Moon now? I've made up all kinds of reasons to dodge watching it and I think its just instinctual. Started playing Record of Agarest War, watching YuGiOh, Valk Chronicles, started a Star Ocean 3 run and a Xenosaga Ep I run...

Don't worry, we won't tell sportsGAF. Your waifus are safe.

On episode 37 right now. Obviously I am hardly marathoning this thing. For me putting this on marathon is like like eating too much cotton candy, most of the show is incredibly formulaic and episodes that aren't are actually the weaker ones on average.

But all in all it's pretty good, I'm enjoying this way more than I figured I would considering it was recommended to me by people in here.

I couldn't recommend School Days at all. It's not a good experience at all unless you like to hate yourself.

Well, at least the AKG K701's are a good pair of headphones. (personally rockin' the AT AD900's here)
They are but they are a waste without a decent, proper setup behind them because it's practically necessary with how hard they're driven.

In Japan, THE IDOLM@STER Blu-rays come packed with CDs which include all the music from the show, including all the songs heard in whole or part in the episodes. These CDs aren't sold separately, so you need to buy the episodes to get the CDs. Why am I not surprised by this turn of events.
It isn't anything really new the last 2 years.

It's like music.

No, really. Think of the most catchiest song/beat and how addictive it was listening to it repeatedly.

But I do hate myself.

And I kinda expect more from myself after marathoning LOGH and that mess called rahxephon

It's formulaic, but it plays with its own formula. Some shows do the same exact thing entirely straight over and over without so much as a gag.

Unless I'm misunderstanding these amazon.co.jp items, apparently you can buy the CDs on their own?

Of course they're still like $40 each, but that's par for the course.

Completely true and the show also tweaks the formula here and there enough to make it not completely stale.

But it's fair to say that at least half the episodes I've watched so far have been a "waste of time", in that they have done nothing at all to drive home the plot. But really the fun, wacky antics of the show is at least on par, for me, with the central storyline the show has been slowly (and I do mean slowly) building up to.

Yeah, using the K701's without a good amp is dumb as hell.

I'm pretty sure it is considering I've listened to a number of tracks on youtube.

Maybe I'm dead wrong, but I thought it was going to be a multi-CD type thing.

Yeah, but those antics are half the fun so it all works out.

Of course, this isn't quite as true in earlier eps because the show runs on character interaction and it's not until Ami and Rei are onboard do things get going in that area. Later things improve with Makoto and then you have the best of them all, Minako.

Did the Pengiundrum OST ever come out? I want those vocal tracks bad. Now.
If you are mostly interested in the vocal tracks, then this CD album is your best bet (http://neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=33515774&postcount=691):

It's not like there was a 'scene missing' in the original version. It just feels that lots of parts of the conversations were trimmed or removed, a long with certain shots which really help to set the tone of the episode. Of course, it still contained glorious verbal beatdowns of Saber, which is what everyone really wants. It's all about talking heads anyway.

Sure there was. The entire Tohsaka/Kirei scene was missing!

Actually, the OST CDs for the show don't come with the BDs at all - the BDs are bundled with completely different content. The first disk came with a CD featuring Jazz arrangements of iM@S songs, the second drama CD, the third another arrange CD, and the forth is coming with the DVD of the live-action GeroGero Kitchen.

The OST CDs (of which there'll have been about seven of, including the CD singles, by the time they are finished) are only sold separately.
