When do the new episodes of Mirai Nikki and Last Exile air? I need my psycho stalker fix.

Mirai Nikki first airs on Sundays so there is a new episode tonight in Japan.

Last Exile airs on Fridays, but the simulcasts are a couple of episodes behind so I don't know where you're up to.

Durarara 08
What the heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeck.
The head is on a living body!

Endless WTF questions, the reason I like shows like these.

Usagi Drop 5:
More adorable by every episode. Daikichi and Rin's relationship is just so tender and caring. It's such a unique relationship, and it really helps the show stay strong.I believe that this show could probably bring about world peace and stop crime if broadcast internationally.

You have no argument from me on that one.

I could see Usagi Drop being quite well received out side of Japan. Unfortunately broadcasters would have no clue how to market it.

This season we got a shitload of Kugiloli shows.

Shana III
ZnT F
Recorder
Kill me baby
Gintama'
Persona 4

I believe it's been stated before that Kagura does not belong on that list.

Wandering Son 01

Classy.

For all the hot-blooded, crazy stuff I tend to watch, Wandering Son is about as understated a show as I've seen. There's conflict, but things feel pretty peaceful.

I like it. It takes its time, but it doesn't waste time. I'm curious to see how events develop.

It feels like a similar kind of show to Usagi Drop. I wonder if that'll remain true.

I know I watched Wandering Son, yet it feels like I never watched the first episodes. Must have something to do with the fact the anime is supposed to drop you in the middle of the manga story with no back explanation.

Long-running shounen are, like outside the scope of this thread, for some reason.

Naruto has finally left filler. I found some of the filler to be enjoyable this time around. Believe it or not, they actually made a good Konahamaru episode. I'm still baffled by that one.

I think he means that we're all creepy nerds.
everyones avatars suddenly got amazing

I suppose my avatar is creepy when you know what it represents. While I've been tempted to switch back to Ginko I'll stick with Shogun for a bit longer.

Machiko to Hatchin ep2
Just what I needed a nice breath of fresh air , something really unique that isn’t about highschool kids doing animu stuff.
-superb pacing, excellent production value and a nice soundtrack

Machiko to Hatchin ep3
It’s like someone in japan watched one of my favourite movies “City of god” before making this, the town looks like Rio de Janeiro.

What style, her wardrobe must be huge.

The sheer style of the art in those screen caps you posted have piqued my interest.

"Just what I needed a nice breath of fresh air , something really unique that isn’t about highschool kids doing animu stuff." That sentence pretty much seals the deal (assuming I can find a legal place to watch it).

Gurren Lagann Episode 14

Just started 14, show is so fucking good! Just keeps getting better and better. One question though, how old is Nia supposed to be? She is weirdly sexualized for how young she looks.

Pretty much what others have said, "welcome to anime, it's better not to think about it".

Gurrenn Lagann put hair on my chest.

I've having to change my thoughts on Gurrenn Lagann being the epitome of manliness. A better description would be it's a shot of pure testosterone and an equal amount of adrenaline. That would put hair on any boys chest. If you want manliness, watch Sean Connery as James Bond.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - END

*golfclap*

While I haven't watched NGE, I have watched the ending in another show.

Edit/Addition:

Episode 11 should be up Monday on Funimation.

Don't get excited by Michiko to Hatchin. It starts off strong and interesting but the ending was fucking awful. Best thing about the show is the art and the opening. The depiction of those parts of Brazil was good but I'm disappointed that they decided to just skip some of the non favela looking parts.

In Japan, THE IDOLM@STER Blu-rays come packed with CDs which include all the music from the show, including all the songs heard in whole or part in the episodes. These CDs aren't sold separately, so you need to buy the episodes to get the CDs. Why am I not surprised by this turn of events.

What? No. The BDs come with CDs featuring remixes; the OSTs, which are mostly super-expensive single-releases for Kami Summer and Jibun Restart and Yakusoku, are sold separatedly. They get more money this way, actually.

Or you could buy those tracks individually on itunes for 100 yen, right?

wwww

I remember people bitching in /a/ that anime-related DLC was all more expensive than usual; I think it's like 1800 yen per song.

And yet, I'm looking at iTunes and seeing all these 150 yen anime songs.

Idolmaster songs are also not sold on iTunes btw.

So I'm going back to my childhood and watching Dragon Ball... haven't seen it for at least 14-15 years now... and I definitely don't remember it being so perverted. Was it massively edited for TV audiences? Haha. On a similar note, where can I find DVDs of the English version of Sailor Moon? That would definitely be a blast from the past...

On eBay for crazy prices no sane person would want to pay. Alas, the license holders for the show presently have no desire to allow any kind of English release of the show to materialise.

Dammit. :( What about something like this?...

http://www.sailormoondvds.com/Sailor-Moon-the-Ultimate-Complete-Uncut-Collection_p_9.html

I realize this is a bootleg, but in the absence of any official release and with the copyrights in limbo, I am assuming it's not illegal to purchase? It seems like a well-done bootleg, at any rate. Seems like a decent price for everything, too, I think.

I know AnimeGAF usually hates anime, but from fans of Prince of Tennis, how is the new show?

I love the older stuff so much.

If you liked the older show, you'll probably enjoy the new series, too. I'm a big fan of the series, and looking forward to more of the manga being animated. The first episode was pretty solid.

I bought the official releases of Season 1 and 2 when they came out.

$99 and $149 respectively, right out the gate. They vanished off the face of the earth a week later.

I also have the Pioneer sets of 3 and 4. I actually like the way they did it more than ADV's.

I don't know about the rest, but those Stars DVDs seem legit.

I never watched the old series, even though I always wanted to. But I watched the episode of this new one and all of these guys look old enough be at least seniors in highschool, what the hell is with this middle school crap.

If your only knowledge of something comes from 4chan, I suggest it's best not to express it at all without fact checking to avoid serious embarrassment.

Symphogear 1: Mecha magical girls fighting things while singing stuff. I approve. Nana Mizuki'd! Kind of reminds me of Ga-Rei Zero with this opening episode. Also monsters are so polite these days. Letting the heroes have time to do their character drama rather than just poking them in the back.

Kill me Baby 1: 4koma's going to 4koma. Mildly amusing enough. That ED dance is pretty addictive though.

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi 1: This feels a lot better than pretty much every episode in the 3rd season. Things just seemed to flow better in every way. A good return to the show after a lackluster cour.

Yeah, the characters have always looked a lot older than they actually are. There were even a number of jokes about it in the original series (such as Tezuka getting mistaken for being the coach at one point). I'm used to it by now, but it did perplex me early on. Especially when you have characters who are supposed to be Japanese middle schoolers and are six feet tall.

Copyright infringement, as I understand it, places the onus on the vendor, not the purchaser. So although it would not be illegal for you to purchase these bootlegs, it would be for the seller to sell them to you or to have made them in the first place - of course they're bootlegged, the Stars DVDs have English subtitles and they have multiple copies of everything.

The rights aren't in limbo - they're just back with Toei, who will have licensed them out to ADV and Geneon in the past and which will have now reverted because their licenses have expired.

Yeah, I felt this way too, what with the
decoy protagonist dying.
Also felt similar in tone.

I've heard rumors that they're planning a re-release with a brand new(true to the original) dub.

Nah, the ending is pretty solid and in-line with the rest of the show.

The favela parts are the coolest looking, visually, in my opinion. I liked how it kept that sort of gritty look to the show by having everything take place in those kinds of areas

This isn't the first time I've seen this either, Ichigo is supposed to be in middle school too but he looks like he's in his 20s. I don't understand why this happens, if the creators wanted to do something with children and shit what's stopping them? I mean most anime protagonists are barely past puberty and look the part anyway. If they want to make them look older stop bullshitting and make them the age they look like.

I mean I understand the whole show was going for the gritty underworld and poor area theme, but I would have liked to see a really big and modern city make an appearance to show contrast which didn't happen. Also it doesn't look that good in real life, but neither does many of the things portrayed in anime such as big boobs.

End of Evangelion

Anno.jpg
But Evangelion is pretty light on real symbolism, which was the point of my piece.

The ending is the only logical thing that could have happened in that show without having Michiko and Hatchin be filled up with bullets.

Maybe if you want to perpetuate stereotypes. Hatchin completely disappointed me.
She's not allowed to
become a single mom
now? I thought that actually made her character a lot stronger. She had always been an independent type of girl, and the way it was presented it made sense that
she would try to enjoy her kid while waiting for Michiko to get out of jail. It's a nice reminder that she has moved on and has made her own mistakes, but that she's still human and make mistakes, albeit not on the same level as Michiko.

Bodacious Maid Pirates 01:

Um... Kuroneko? I think you're on the wrong set. All that late-night programming and doujin writing must have hurt your eyes 'cause you're wearing glasses now. And you seem to have had a slight growth spurt since we last saw you. o_o Can we expect to see this new height in the 2nd OreImo season? :-P

Anyhoo, the show. The artwork was nice and the animation acceptable, if nothing special. I guess I was expecting something called "Bodacious Space Pirates" to be a little more... I dunno... bodacious? That's the problem ultimately with this first episode. There just isn't enough "umph" to carry it through. And um... yeah the whole "legal pirates" bit is kind of an oxymoron so that's dumb. I get why they did it (the girl is supposed to be "innocent" and not a criminal so they have to come up with some bullshit reason for it to be "legal" and thereby okay for her to take over, etc.), but it's still bullshit. And last I checked the rank of Captain isn't usually a bloodline inheritance, usually the 1st mate becomes Captain if the old one kicks the bucket, yes?

I'll give this another episode since I find the artwork agreeable, but so far it's not living up to its name. :-/

Yes she was always independent as a child but to me she seemed level-headed and a bit mature for her age. The ending completely threw that out the window.

anyone know what anime is used in this clip? looks pretty & slightly depressing, a combination i enjoy!

5 centimetres per second.

That's right. If anything Ezlac is judging all
single mothers and saying they must have done something wrong!
