NFL 2011 Divisional Round |OT| Jesus cast flag merchants, rapists out of His temple

Actually, Skip cited a stat that nobody in the league has thrown more 15+ yard passes than Tebow.
I don't trust Skip when it comes to Tebow. Looking at his stats on NFL.com he threw 271 passes ,but completed 126. He had 25 passes over 20+ and 6 over 40+. Tom Brady completed 71 passes over 20+ yards, and that was tops in the NFL. Brady had twice as many attempts and three times as many completions. Brady is just killer on 10-20 yard throws. Skip could be right, but I doubt it.

Edit: I can't find the stats for 15+ yard attempts only 20+

I read somewhere else that they ran 21 times on 22 first downs prior to that. Don't know if that's true or not, but it wouldn't surprise me.

I believe, and they were so committed to it too, I felt like all second half they wound up in 2nd and 9 or 8.

TheFatOne,

skip could have been referencing attempts and not completions.

Saints are different. Best offense ever, drew brees is the greatest human in the history of the universe, sean payton isnt a drug addicted scumbag, jimmy graham played bball and had a tough upbringing, phillip rivers lost his virginity to darren sproles, katrina, unique culture!

You can make fun of "unique culture" all you want but that part is 100% truth.
As for the rest, statistically those things are true, but that doesnt mean they are unbeatable. It does however mean that you cant take them lightly or play less than perfect defense. You can hate all you want, but you had an equally great qb and offense before. You know ehat its like to root for a team like that. But you know what? WE BEAT YOU GUYS WHEN YOU WERE THAT WAY TOO. I am never calling any game a lead pipe lock and especially not this one.however your arrogance is pretty much calling for a fall. I just hope your team isnt thinking the same. But then again, we are fanatics with nothing more than stats and shit talk. They have to play the games. They know what has to be done here. If either of us knew what the fuck we were talking about we would be coaching.

For shame, no mention of Alex Smith small hands.

Ha ha, you're scared as fuck thinking about Tebow getting redemption in Satan's lair.

Responding to Lunchbox is not recommended!

I'm not really scared. The Patriots defense is so bad they'll play cover three all game. Having Tebow throw into zones will be LOLworthy.

however your arrogance is pretty much calling for a fall.
You must not have seen FMT post here that long. Unfortuantely, SF has had plenty of falls after numerous FMT pre-game rants over the years.

I dunno, all the Saints/Niners talk is reminding me of the Giants/Phillies from a few years back where everyone was saying that while SF had great pitching, there was no way they could contain the Philly offense barrage. Just getting deja vu - I hope its a good sign.

Coming down today off of that mile high... well high. I see that the Tebow debate rages on. The way I look at it is he still has to improve. He made some good throws and some bad throws yesterday. The thing that I feel was different is that he let the ball fly, less hesistation, and didn't look to go to the run immediately when he didn't have a play. Steelers certainly helped him out by trying to stop the run, and making him pass. Which as we all saw opened the door for some big plays off of Taylor's bad game.

I hope that he continues to improve, after listening to a little of 104.3 The Fan this morning Tebow isn't going anywhere.

Bandwagon continues to grow boys, but we all know who's been here since the beginning of the season.

Saints have never won a meaningful game against the niners. You guys have like 4 meaningful wins in the history of your franchise so.... Yeah

Yeah that's the one, I think it was about 50 odd yards or so? Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was a perfect ball, but for a deep pass, it was great.

I think we're evaluating the same pass differently, which is totally valid. There was no deep safety coverage so that ball should never be underthrown. It's the easiest throw for a quarterback to make. If Ben had thrown it, we'd be saying man amazing catch. Tebow threw it so it's a great throw. That's fine. It was a great play no matter who did contributed to it.

He absolutely threw some great balls. He even threw into coverage once or twice. He didn't really do both though.

That's picking nits. I don't expect a second year QB to throw lazzzzers into coverage constantly and wouldn't be having this conversation were it not for the hilariously erroneous assertions made by a newcomer to the sport.

Well, Satan is a better coach than Tomlin. But the Broncos are now playing with no pressure, so it could be interesting.

I love Skip so much. He's such a good refreshing change from all the idiot analysts on there. Stephen A is great as well and it's like you can't not listen when he's speaking, he's just a great talker. Skip and Stephen A. are such a good combo, like Siskel & Ebert.

TheFatOne,

It would be 246 attempts(Tebow) vs 540 attempts (Brady). How many of those attempts by either QB would have been passes 15+ yards? I would say looking at the numbers Brady would probably throw more 15+ yard passes simply because he had twice as many attempts, and Brady wasn't the number one guy in attempts it was Brees with 657. I just don't believe that stat from Skip at all.

Edit: See I wish I could find 15+ attempts.

Double Edit: Blah the above numbers would be for 20+ Tebow 271 vs Brady 611 total attempts. Man fuck 15+

The saints are pretty aware that they have to show up big.
I honestly dont believe that they think of themselves as unstoppable.
However, i also dont think that field will make a gigantic difference because if the best offense in the nfl cant play efficiently on it then what chance does a lesser offense have?
Again, if the saints were pure passers, like past years, they would have considerable difficulty,. However the can also run the ball. They have balanced, variable offense. They can try different plays if the original plan isnt working.

Both are dickbags in my opinion. Skip does not help Tebow at all. If it wasn't for him Tebow could likely go along and continue to develop without a blaring fucking spotlight on him.

Lol you arent running on us... Sorry

Huge congratulations to Romeo Crennel who is officially the Chiefs head coach.

What white guy did they interview before giving him the contract though? Racists.

Even the ESPN analysts

You're pathetic. Even the ESPN analysts just said it was a "perfect over-the-shoulder throw". There was a very small opening and he put it perfectly right into Thomas' hands.

Crennel is great. Scares me because he effectively dismantled the broncos in the last regular season game. Get him a good offense and the afc west has its hands full.

It's outdoors, you're fucked.

League issues statement on the Brees fumble/early whistle:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/08/league-admits-errors-on-lions-saints-fumble/

“Referee Tony Corrente ruled the play was a fumble and a recovery by Detroit,” the league said in a statement emailed Sunday night to PFT. “However, during the play and before Detroit recovered the fumble, another official blew the whistle believing it was an incomplete pass. Because the ruling on the field was a fumble, and the whistle came before the recovery, the play is dead because of the inadvertent whistle and the Saints should have retained possession of the ball. New Orleans would then have had the choice to put the ball in play at the spot where possession was lost or to replay the down. Inadvertent whistles are not reviewable.”

Yes, not to say that the whistle should not have been blown, but to say that it should have been Saints ball (which, technically is right). You can't make this up, LOL

It's pretty obvious to me that the Niners win this week. Everyone is expecting the Saints and their offense to roll them but the Niners' dominant D will give Brees fits and the offense's ball control style of play will milk the clock while getting Gored.

Man this is the worst shit ever. Why can't that be reviewed?

same with the Steelers fumble..I was so fucking pissed cause that would've probably ended the game right there.

Pretty sure they'll fix that next year though.

I think they interviewed three white guys, which is the minimum for the Eznark Exclusion rule.
