I feel like Tears for Fears is going to have a new tag soon.

GAF, decide what I'm going to watch next: an episode of Birdy or Brain Powerd.

I'm not duckroll, but:

That's for starters.

Those are all great, absolutely amazing a few of them, but to compare tv series to tv series--crossing out the Shinkai and ghibli--I don't think that what P.A did with Another in those shots posted on the last page looks any worse than the the MPD, or Bunny Drop shots there, a little better than the Bunny Drop shots even. Just different. But this is where I'll back up too, because I don't exactly know the pros/cons to doing what P.A is doing vs what Brains Base did(MPD). In terms of output efficiency, cost cutting, etc...etc... if there is even a difference.

It doesn't really have anything to do with cost cutting... Usagi Drop and Penguin Drum just have better background artists and visual designers. Like I said, there's nothing horribly wrong with the first and third Another shots, but the second one is bad. It just looks like an ugly, boring CG elevator.

Any good recommendations for 2011/starting in 2012 anime which are similiar to Minami-ke and Hidamari Sketch?

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is an original magical girl anime with character designs by the creator of Hidamari Sketch.

Wouldn't it have everything to do with cost-cutting, in most series' cases? The choice of CG, or not. And be fair. Selective shots prove nothing, really. Both MPD and Usagi drop had their fair share of horrid moments too, just speaking visually.

You know, 5cm is probably the worst
NTR
i've ever watched. I wish I could unwatch it somehow.

I'm still not sure what that word is supposed to actually mean but I hate how people keep using it to mean any unrequited love or even imagined unrequited love. As if disappointing shippers is as bad as actually cheating on your significant other.

This season is coming off as one of the worst for me in a long time with the only two shows I have been able to get into being Highschool dxd and to an extent Brave 10. Watching Aquarion now and it seems like it may have some potential. Too many shows with cute girls and flashy colors for my tastes this season. Another was so-so i guess.

Well, to be fair it is a regaulr elevator. I imagine the only guy around with good looking, 'normal' elevators in Shinkai.

Well since he liked the show I assume he did not deliberately pick bad shots of Another. And no, PA Works uses CG for all of their backgrounds. It's a deliberate choice, not cost-cutting.

MPD does have some bad shots, mostly due to CG work. Usagi Drop, not really, there's some bland moments, but nothing obtrusively bad.

cheating on your SO is one example, yeah. it's a general term for when the viewer gets a feeling of jealousy. In this case
We watch as the dumb protag loses his lover as time goes on.

Edit: Regulus put it in a better way than I ever could

Sounds dumb. NTR is dumb.

Yet so very funny.

I don't see how them just doing it for all of there BGs means that its not a cost cutting measure, but that's interesting anyway. I'll go ahead and concede since I'd have no real clue what I'm talking about past this.

Here's FAKKU[nsfw site,]'s description of it, which is pretty much what netorare is.

Netorare (寝取られ), also referred to as NTR or cuckold, is a genre where the intent is to cause an emotion of deep jealousy or distress in the reader. A direct translation of the word results in the definition "having your lover taken from you" or "to have something taken from you while you sleep". This is often accomplished by having main protagonist's loved one seduced away from them, with or without their knowledge.

It's fine for wanking off, but when it's used for cheap tears in movies like 5cm it kind of pisses me off.

Still dumb and your continued attempt to apply it to 5cm Per Second when it doesn't even make sense befuddles and angers me.

I agreed above about how it's sillily similar to modern Japan, but it might have been pretty cool with real pirates too, yeah. :) I liked the episode anyway though.
My problem with Bodacious Space Pirates isn't that it is similar to modern day Japan, but that they spend too much time establishing that their world is similar to modern day Japan with a few gadgets here and there. World-building doesn't have to rely on putting every unimportant detail at the forefront, especially when it robs the script of whatever small momentum it has.

Main protagonist is in deep love for like a decade or so with a girl who moves on, finds new love and marries some other guy. How am i supposed to feel other than getting NTR'D?!

The whole point of the movie is that the main character
is so obsessed with the past and his dreams of the future that he forgets to live in the present.
How you missed that and interpreted it as
"look at this failure lose his chance at love! Doesn't this sexually excite you?"
is beyond my comprehension, but somewhere along the way you made some serious mistakes.

Oh, but you see, Shinai's story here doesn't lend itself much credibility in that regards. I mean, I understand the motive behind the story and what the moral is. But.

It's a bit ridiculous that the protagonist (after moving) doesn't visit her if he's so deeply in love with her. I mean, okay, i'll accept that text messages don't really get their feelings across to each other, but japan being as small as it is and railway transportation being so common there, there are just so many things wrong with a story that credits itself to being "realistic"

I don't think that's a problem. Long-distance relationships rarely work. Well, I actually know two couples where it did, but most of the time, it doesn't. And even a couple hours trip is a long-distance relationship.

Well, that's one way to look at it I guess.
I'm mainly trying to support my reasoning because of the weeks of heartbreak I suffered after watching this movie, though I would say there's a degree of truth to my argument

Ano Natsu de Matteru 1: This really is like Onegai Sensei. Also, more proof that a virgin guy will do anything for a girl who looks his way!

People mentioned Super 8, which makes perfect sense, but of course, I'll just mention that the camera bits are a bit like Tamayura. It's like they're trying to class up the standard magical girl love triangle formula anyway.
