It's like the features drifted apart while the head stayed the same shape.

The main thing that's weird to me about that OT pass play by Tebow is that it was a perfect spiral located at exactly the right spot. All season and for most of that game he threw ducks up there that were behind or above receivers, not allowing for YAC.

I don't know why you want a tag so badly. It's generally a negative thing.

Except for mine. Mine is fucking awesome.

In unrelated, Tebow news:

Greg Aiello said:
It was most-watched game of season, most-watched Wild Card game ever w/42.4 million viewers, & most-watched TV program since Super Bowl XLV.

Somewhere, Goodell is busy plotting with the referees upon the script to get the Broncos to the SuperBowl.

God's will, obviously.

Part of the season, I'll give you that. Most of the passes in the Steelers game bar a few, were quality passes that did allow for YAC. He still throws the occasional duck, but they are becoming more rare.

WTF, didn't see this posted about Michael Philbin (stolen from BBI)

http://www.jsonline.com/sports/packers/40400607.html

According to the criminal complaint, Michael Philbin, who was 17 at the time, hosted a party at the family's Sonoran Court home near Southwest High School on Aug. 21. The Packers flew to Denver that day to play the Broncos the next evening in an exhibition game.

One of the victims said that after she passed out from intoxication, Michael Philbin "performed an act of sexual intercourse against her will," in the family's living room.

The second victim, who also admitted being intoxicated to the point of passing out, alleged that after Michael Philbin helped her to the bed in the master bedroom, he undressed her and "performed an act of sexual intercourse on her without her consent."

Wow.

I just have to get lucky, and do something that's not intentional or obvious.
As long as it's not "banned", or "Leader of the Falcons Bus"

Oh, it's gonna happen.

Mark Chmura etc. etc.

There I said it before anyone else could.

Yep that sounds like your new tag to me!

During the course of that game, I was saying to the other people I was watching the game with how weird it was that Tebow would have this string of 3-4 wounded ducks before firing off an occassional perfect spiral to a receiver with the right amount of touch and accuracy.

I honestly do feel that having a full offseason to work on his mechanics with the coaching staff starting at OTAs is going to do wonders for Tebow. Not saying that he's going to become a Top 10 QB overnight, but he should bump up his comp % above 50% at the very least next season.

Man I am so happy Hue was fired, I think I liked Tom Cable more than him...

I don't recall the particulars, but Jackson was basically busy stabbing Cable in the back the whole time he was there. The only thing in particular I remember was that Jackson recommended to Cable that he bench Campbell, knowing full well that Al would go apeshit since Campbell was his "prize" FA that year

The press conference was amazing. Dude can't figure out people might be mad about trading one, potentially two first round picks for Carson Palmer. Team doesn't even have a draft pick this year till the 5th round.

And I thought Bears not picking in the first or second was bad.

I'm not one to belittle the dead, but I'm a bit confused. What exactly is the difference between "an act of sexual intercourse" and "sexual intercourse"?

*insert FMT joke here*

according to a contemporaneous news article i looked at there were used condoms found. perhaps he only smacked her around with his protected member instead of engaging in sexual intercourse.

yeah. not much sympathy for that kid, especially considering how slight his sentence was. i also can't believe how he iced his dad's team on the eve of this Sunday's game.

I thought Oakland was getting some compensatory picks for Nnamdi, Gallery, and/or Miller. Those might be in the 3rd-4th round range.

Yep. Mario took heat off others. Antonio Smith had a monstrous 4 games before Mario went out. Teams were doubling him free up the DE on his side.

Antonio Smith has been one of the most consistent pass rushers the entire season, even without Mario. When mario was in Smith was getting sacks as you said cause mario was getting doubled. Now he tends to push the QB in the directon of someone else and they get the credit. Could you imagine if Mario were healthy, with Watt stepping his game up and everyone else playing how they are? Rotate Barwin, Reed and Mario to keep them all fresh. /drool

The criticisms of Mario are valid, imo. But surprisingly this year he took to Wade's 3-4 much better than I expected and he appeared to be on his way to a strong year.

That said, I think Foster is obviously more important to this team.

Yep, exactly... Just look at how well Tate did in the early going when Foster was out. If given a choice, I'd go with Mario.

musn't watch many texans games.

Tate is slower and can't outrun defenders. I would pay...Foster because he's been so dirty cheap for the Texans for both pro-bowl years so he deserves some kind of increased pay.

Mario can take a bit of a hit since he is semi-injured all the time.

Yours is the only team in football that that makes sense for.

No. You're not thinking clearly. Where is your need? Think about what you gain with Mario coming back versus what you lose if you let Foster walk.

Texans D with only five games of Mario:

2nd in Yardage allowed
4th in Points allowed
6th in Sacks allowed
2nd in QB Rating against
4th in Rushing Yards against

There is not much more room for improvement, all of that was done with only five Mario games.

Arian Foster across the last two seasons:

2,840 yards on 605 carries - 4.7 YPC
119 receptions, 1221 yards - 10.3 Avg

He's an elite receiving threat out of the backfield, #1 in the league. I'd sooner take my chances without Williams than without Foster.

Further consider what the Texans have been. Whether it's Schaub or how their offense is run, the RB is heavily featured in the passing game. Steve Slaton had seasons that featured 50 and 44 receptions. A player as dynamic on offense as Foster doesn't come around often.

(I almost pointed out that in his three big production years, Domanick Davis caught 154 passes, but that both hurts and helps my argument)

I like a Browns fan that still comes around during the playoffs. Clearly, you must be rooting for the Ravens, right?

It burns me that about a year and a half after I picked this horrible team I found out the Ravens were the Browns and got stolen.

I should be the one bitching about Joe Flacco and his shittastic throwing arm. :(

The only joy I get lately is trolling my friend who is a Bills fan. It hurts him more when it comes from me a Browns follower.

But no I won't be cheering for the Ravens.

I would give zero dollars to a running back. To me the decisions is doin sign Mario or not. No chance I give Foster big dollars.

I agree. Runningbacks have an incredibly short shelf life. For every Emmitt Smith there's Priest Holmes or Larry Johnson (sorry KC fans).

So there's $0 worth of value between Terrel Davis and Olandis Gary? b/c that is what Foster is. He is the best one cut back since Davis. People look at Tate's YPC and think he's a suitable replacement, but he's nowhere near as good.

What you don't do is pay RBs Peterson or CJ1k type money. But what the Bears were offering Forte was completely reasonable for what Foster's value over replacement would be versus the certainly he'll blow out a knee in the next 4 years

Eh, he's played two years. You could give him a three-year deal without any worries.

You don't draft RBs early, but you can pay them when they're still young. They have families to feed!

Ok, obviously zero dollars is an exaggeration. I was very vocal in my desire to sign Brandon Jackson this past season. I would sign him for an appropriately low dollar amount, slightly above another back. While he may be great, I don't think the marginal value of one back over the next (especially given durability concerns) warrants a significant investment.

Running is neat. Receiving wins games.

Yes, your team is one of the few that could get away with it. Who needs a running game when your team has Rodgers, Brees, Brady, Flynn, or Peyton (pre-injury)?

ZBS or not, he is an elite running back. I don't pay him Chris Johnson money (6 years $56 mil) , and I don't pay him DeAngelo money (5 years, $43 mil). Something that makes sense for both sides that is in the 3 or 4 year range. He showed he could come back from a severe hammy injury to be effective.

Well big plays win games, and big plays are most easily achieved in the passing game. And don't mistake my point. I'd never pay him big money. But he is great in their zone scheme, hits big runs, pass protects well, and is the best in-space receiving back in the league save Sproles.

The gating entity on that offense has always been Schaub.

The problem is that I have the feeling that's exactly the kind of money he's going to want considering the production level. It's a tough decision but it's painfully obvious neither of those two names were worth those contracts. I had this argument with a few buddies of mine that swore up and down the Giants should have paid the bank to make sure they held onto Bradshaw...(thankfully Reese runs personnel, not them).

Update:

mortreport Chris Mortensen
Legendary Cowboys line coach Hudson Houck retires after 29 yrs; Bill Callahan (Jets) wll replace him. #ESPN story up soon.
#NFL32

Also, it appears likely that Aaron Ross WILL play against the Packers. He's already passed all of the concussion protocol tests.

Foster > McCoy > Sproles as receivers. Announcers just slob Sproles a lot more because of return duties.
