Did they ever get around to releasing the BD's for Dennou Coil in Japan?

Gokujyo from what I read of it is about this one girl's quest to become the most popular slut in school. In her way are girls wearing clothes.

So it's like b gata h kei except the girl will only get sluttier as the story progresses?

edit: according to mangaupdates, it's a yuri fanservice show. ಠ_ಠ
sounds amazing. day 0

How creepy are we talking here?
Peeking-while-changing creepy or sniffing-used-idol-underwear creepy? ... or worse?

The games are somewhat ingenious in that you can play them perfectly normally if you want, you can behave professionally and raise your idols and support them and whatever in an entirely innocuous way. Alternatively, you can be very perverted and hit on them ceaselessly and grope them during the sequences where you have to touch them. For the purposes of the anime, Producer-san is entirely innocuous, which is likely intentional as I outlined during my previous post. He was actually pretty innocuous in the Relations manga as well.

Anyways, in terms of how you act, the game leaves it entirely up to you, but you can guess how most of the otakus in Japan who play these games behave.

Since I can't read a word of Japanese, I honestly don't know what the hell I'm saying to my idols during conversations. They probably think I'm batshit insane because I'll pick the normal option in one part and then the perverted option in the next part without even knowing what I'm saying to them.

Also, I didn't realize this before, but during conversations with Ryuuguu Komachi, you can touch them wherever you want as well when asked to do so. Iori is FUCKING HILARIOUS if you touch her DFC, I mean, this is Rie Kugimiya we're talking about, the sudden onslaught of tsun if you do it is worth feeling dirty afterwards that you touched Iori's DFC.

Brave 10 1

What are girls doing in my sengoku period.

Besides that, the action didn't look too bad. I am interested in how the other people will fight. I also hope the priestess in distress doesn't end up always using her life ending powers all the time.

Hirano what the hell are you doing here? Shouldn't you be off killing Zombies. Unless...

Oh shit!

Rinne No Lagrange 1

An overabundance of gratuitous fanservice and mechas
suplexing
mechas. Honestly, what's not to like?

Okay so it's not perfect but this first episode's pace felt very energetic, which when handled right, comes across as pretty darn enjoyable. Consider me interested.

In a show full of hnggg, that really was a cheap shot by CLAMP.

I'm sorry, all I see are manhands.

The show does come across as a tad more enjoyable when pictured against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse.

That was funny. Camera Kid was pretty funny, and Capt--like a boss, lol. I'll be dropping this now though. I don't care for the general direction this adaptation went in. The reliance on visual gags, instead of the hilarious writing the vn had really takes away from everything.

Tis true! It's the last refuge for the delusional anime fan. That's why things that cover their pervesness up with a "story" are so popular, those who believe they're against the perverse get to fool themselves into thinking that while some people may see the show as perverse in some degree that there's actually a story being told and those who like the perverse enjoy seeing people justify the perversion they're watching. Once a show actually crosses that line it's got to lose some fans as it's no longer bait for those fans that like to believe they're morally superior and they'll recognize it as such.

See, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Bakemonogatari, whatever My Little Sister Can't be this Cute is in Japanese or any show where the cast is initially introduced by having the main help them to some degree just for them to now stick around later even though their time in the sun should have ended. I guess that's most anime. Anyways, yeah, that's my theory. Much the same as yours except the intention is different, it's not that it's less interesting it's that it takes away our plausible deniability and we can no longer pretend that underneath the harem trappings on the surface there's some real shit going on because, well, now there isn't.

I have no idea what the fuck you're talking about in the first paragraph, but in the second I don't think it's reasonable to place SZS on that list as they're explicitly zero-dimensional characters summed up by their name who are in it for situational comedy and eye candy.

In a couple of episodes it turns to a focus on action, actually -- it doesn't stay harem comedy. For several episodes starting at ep. 8 it particularly focuses on action, with Momoyo facing off against the group of villain girls (the lead one in particular).

I actually thought it got weaker at that point though, I think the anime's better at harem comedy than it is action... I didn't really like ep. 1 that much either. I kind of start losing interest in the action episodes and after ep. 9 struggled to keep watching the show. The harem-comedy eps are mixed in quality too, but slightly better overall than the action ones (with 6 being my favorite episode, I think).

Oh, and the less said about the series' "ending" the better... though I will admit, it was kind of funny in its stupidity, it is stupid overall. :lol

I'm giving it another ep or two, yeah.

It's actually different from what I've seen. Very different. But I think I see how the anime starts off now. This seems to start from the 'bad' end of Momoyo's path, which
has him getting turned down on the river, and then adapts the 'true' harem route where every girl in the dorm wants a piece of him; a path I don't believe you can even play until you beat every path;
a path I probably won't even play, if its this silly.
That's pretty much right, yeah, it starts
after Momoyo rejects him, and focuses on how all four other girls like him in their various ways (blue hair the most obviously, for sure) but he ignores them because presumably he actually likes Momoyo the most. The plot moves a little bit from there later on, but that's the core of it, yes.

But the majority of the game isn't even about romance, for the most part; it's there, of course, but doesn't even come in till the very end of whichever path. It gets on with some serious stupidity then, but its actually a surprisingly good slice of life/comedy almost all way up to that. like Genshiken, but incredibly crude.
Slice of life comedy? Certainly not the anime. Maybe a bit in the manga, more so than the anime anyway, but still, I'm not sure if I'd use that word, no.

Anyway, does the game have action like the anime? I mean, at least a third or more of the episodes are focused on combat. I presume at least some of that shows in the game too...

Also, given that the game's an H-game, I'd think that there'd be a romance aspect at some point... there are hentai scenes with the main five girls and like four or five others too, right?

We've been through this already. RnL doesn't have that much fanservice
compared to the Aika animes!
Does anything, though?

Poor Saori. They won't let her be Romeo :(

I'm liking this show, the artstyle is joy to the eyes. I'm still sort of conflicted about how the kids seem to be remarkably mature about the matter of Transsexuality during early adolescence, but eh..

Great stuff, for some reason pretty underrated.
Too bad the manga never had an international release, the art style looks tasty:

The good old time as women look like women and not like cows or petite little boys.

Just one more day until the truth behind AKITO is revealed. I can feel the hype.

I can't believe people are just glossing this over. For on the 12th day of January 2012 a familiar force shall arrive to claim what is theirs, once again Code Geass will be the savior of anime.

Nobody's glossing over anything. I think everyone's just wondering what Code Geass will be like without Lelouch, Suzaku, Kallen, C.C., Nunnally, and in fact the entire rest of the original cast. At best we would get cameos from Schneizel and Cornelia when they came by Europe before going back to Area 11 to tangle with Lelouch & Co.

Are you still excited now?

uhhh... what?

the funny thing is even if you cut all fanservice stuff out of Agent AIka you have still more great stuff than in almost all animes.

Are you going to watch Aika R-16 and Aika Zero?

I remember Sunrise making all those Gundam OVAs without Amuro or Char. What were they thinking?

Before going with side stories for Gundam, we got several sequels using different members of the original cast in various ways, from main characters again to minor side cast or guest spots. I think that Sunrise jumping straight into side story material without first stablishing the Geass universe with at least one other mainline direct sequel might be a mistake. As it stands right now, Geass is way too focused on the figure of Lelouch and some other main cast members. That's why the reaction to this side story has been general weak. In the end, it'll basically need to stand up on its own strengths, making the whole Geass tie in pointless.
