why buy the 32gb stick with the first edition? the only reason to get the bundle is because the deal of getting a 4gb stick, game, and case for 50 bucks is good. why have a pointless 4gb stick if you have the 32? i bet little deviants will drop in price pretty fast too.

i say get whatever standalone version you want and the 32 if you really want the 32.

because we want it a week early?

Check the gallery. It looks pretty classy. Tempted to get this for the case and flip the game and mem. card.

...that is actually pretty nice, I might not need to import a Hori case after all

I still don't feel any excitement for the Vita, let alone get it a week early. I guess the hype will kick in when the first editions finally come out and I get my games but no way to play them until the 22nd

I feel the same excitement as I did with the 3DS. I was more excited when it launched in Japan and people were showing it off for the first time than when I actually got the thing since I already knew what to expect.

This could've been remedied by a worldwide simultaneous launch but I guess I shouldn't have really expected that to happen.

US Vitas are locked to AT&T, it seems that you can't use SIM cards from other carriers

This leaves the HK Vita the only one without a carrier lock I guess. Don't know about the EU though.

Australian models have a preferred carrier (Vodafone) but any other SIM card is usable.
Ok, so to sum it up:
US - AT&T (Locked)
Japan - docomo (Locked)
HK - I have no idea (Unlocked)
Europe, namely UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, France, The Netherlands - Vodafone (SFR in France) (Unlocked)

If by homebrew you mean emulators and stuff yes.

If by homebrew you mean running UMD isos, or Vita game dumps. No.

Awesome, might have to pick one up at launch now. It'll give me something to do while waiting for games to drop from their rediculously high prices.

Any links to sites that have the stuff?

I don't believe any of it has been released to the public. But that Wololo Magic guy and the Half Byte loader site probably have it covered.

Thanks for the heads up, checking it out now, seems like some pretty cool stuff already happening in the Vita homebrew scene.

As long as they stay within the PSP emulator I honestly don't care. Vita has enough problems it has to face without Vita actually being hacked.

After watching the tested guys check out the Vita at CES I'm kind of interested in getting one when it comes out in the US. I haven't been following this stuff too closely, so are there any big reasons why I shouldn't?

I'm pretty pleased with the hardware specs, but some have been complaining about the lack of a video-out and the price of the proprietary memory cards. I can't think of anything that would make me want to wait for a system revision.

Those don't seem too bad. I don't really care about video out and the price of memory cards is kind of a bummer but not really a deal breaker.

I am completely new to this,

Can Vita play every PSP game on PSN?

Where do I find a complete list of PSP game available on US PSN? And the price would be nice.

(I can't get on PSN right now btw)

That MNR news is weird. I didn't play the original online, (played the shit out of the SP mode) but it seems like a ridiculous oversight. I'm wondering if it's misinformation somewhere along the line?

Also, turns out I have an acquaintance that works at our local Sony HQ. Getting the 7.1 headphones for £20 (instead of £70) and I'm going to see what price she can get me on a Vita... fingers crossed! ^_^

Who is this?

EDIT: Just read that quote properly, clearly not a misunderstanding. Ghosts/leaderboards are cool though. :/

I just checked PSN website and add these PSP to my wish list.

Can some kind dude tell me the price? I don't have access to PSN.

Gran Turismo
FF Tactic
Papapon 2
Super Stardust PSP
Chrono Trigger
Romance of Three Kingdom
Tactic Orge
Split/Second
FF IX
Little Big Planet

With that list, why no Ys or Legend of Heroes. Ys Ark, Oath in Felghana, 8, and LoH Trails in the Sky should be on any RPG fans PSP catalog.

I got Patapon 2 for less than $10. I think it's part of the Platinum series or whatever it is called. The new Super Stardust Delta for Vita is only ¥1000 in Japan which will probably translate into $10. The PS1 port of Chrono Trigger is plagued by very long load times. Try to find another version to play instead. PS1 classics are generally $5.99, except for Square's RPGs which are $9.99.

Tactic Orge - $19.99
Split/Second - $19.99
FF IX - $9.99
Little Big Planet - $19.99

Done.

Well, in Canada, we get the first edition bundle on the 15th, including the 4GB memory card, Little Deviants and case, but with the WiFi system (not 3G) and a free copy of Uncharted Golden Abyss for $299 (thanks to Best Buy)... so getting the 32GB memory card at the same time and keeping the essentially "free" 4GB card as a spare or for use with another account so you can play imports actually makes some sense... but it's the getting it a week early thing that's really driving me, of course
(I would have paid the $50 just for that - shhh... don't tell Sony!)

are we expecting a patch to provide PS1 compatibility at launch, or will it take a few months? I fancy replaying MGS.

I play my PSP and DS sporadically, but I really feel like I am going to play the vita a lot. Laying in bed playing hot shots online just seems amazing in my head lol

My big hope is that the Vita browser will be adequate for me to use it to browse the web also.

The screen is big enough for me I'd think, hopefully the functionality is there. If so, the Vita wil be used very often by me.

Chrono Trigger
You're waaaay better off getting Chrono Trigger on DS if you've got one. The super lag in the PSN version makes it the worst way to play the game. It's a great game, sure, but the PSN is terrible compared to any other version -- slower battles, long load times every time you open the menu or enter a building/new room, ugh. =/

Tactic Orge for $20?!? Count me in! :) There are so many games I can't wait to play on my Vita next month. Even outside of the Vita titles that coming out, there's still a big cataloge of PSP and PS1 classics that I can't wait to play :)
