After watching the PV, I can see what 7th was talking about in regards to the other mechs looking pretty terrible.

But that trumpet was perfect and the action looks really fast paced and interesting.

Guity crown ruined code gease for me, watch ep 1 of Cg then watch GC ep1 felt like I watched the same shit(both bad but gc being worse), I had enough of “in world where japan has been taken over, a highshool kid meets a mysterious girl who gives him powers” for a life time.

Unable to watch code gease after gc.

But yes, I'm a 5 year old girl. ^_^

Fascinating stuff.

The CGI in Akito actually looks very good. The problem is that it still doesn't look anything like the 2D drawings, especially in motion.

The question though, is what 2D drawings we're comparing it to. All the Akito mechs seem to be basically designed with CG in mind. If you're comparing it to Code Geass TV, sure, it looks very different in technical style, but I think that's what they're going for too. They want to differentiate the show from Lelouch of the Rebellion.

I'm talking in comparison to the same PV posted just in this page. Every time it jumps from a shot of the characters doing dramatic posing to HOLY SHIT BALLS MECHS ACTION I think I am watching an ad for a Code Geass musou game with cel-shading. Which would be batshit insane awesome!

Oh, yeah the mechs definitely stand out from the characters. That's not a great thing, but I can deal if the action is really well directed. There's definitely a contrast between the character animation with the detailed hand drawn backgrounds in the first part of the PV, and the crazy CG celshaded mecha action in the second half.

One thing I'll give Guilty Crown credit for, is how they make Shu somehow worse with each passing episode, it takes a certain kind of talent to pull that off.
Evangelion managed to do the same, but it tried to keep the viewer with it by matter of... shit, I don't know. Shinji was annoying but at least he was an interesting character. All Shitty Crown promises is more harem antics.

Dropped.

All I ask from anime studios is consistency. Choose either the CGI or the 2D; otherwise it breaks whatever illusion I can get of immersion (lulz) from your cartoons!

And it's a shame too, considering the mecha animation in Code Geass was already very good.

Well, they did make Another Century's Episode: R. Too bad that was From Software, I would love for Koei to make a Code Geass musou game like the Gundam Musou series. We know they can do fabulous from the Dynasty Warriors franchise.

Yes... yes I agree. Code Geass is a very... immersive series... indeed.

Gunbuster 6

dat last episode.
12,000 years later goddamn. Interesting choice to make it black and white mostly, it was sick when it switched to color at the end. My heart swelled at "Welcome Home." :P

Truly a great finale. What a strange, sentimental (yet fanservice riddled) show.

Recorder and Randsell 02: This Kugiloli doesn't sound a lot like a Kugiloli.
I imagined I was V.V. and it was kinda boring. :(
I actually wanted to be Nunnally so that Lelouch could have his way with me.
It's not like I could see what he were doing anyway.
Ok, you're definitely not a hipster if you change your attitude based on the flavor of the week. How about 'Bandwagon Monocle'?
The joke was that Code Geass was mediocre, dude.

Don't fall off the wagon while doing all that backpedaling.
I've never backpedaled on that! Code Geass has really mediocre writing and characterisaton. It's just that everything else about the show is very good. Excellent in fact.
Isn't the feeling the most important part anyway? ^_^
I wish Lulu were braver. :( He keeps on touching only my legs because he's afraid I will find out.

Level E - fin

Like a boss. This series went through a serious slump during its middle, and I mean serious-to-the-point-of-dropping-it-serious, but I persevered, and like a good soldier was rewarded. That ending made it all worth it. Mind games. Mind games. Mind games.
It's surprising that such a short show can have a real drop-off in quality, but there you go!

There were some clumsy adaptation choices... I kinda understand some of them ("it's animation, we need some action! a chase, for example!"), but still...

So much so I unitentially dropped it, and never came back to it. I need to rectify that.
Similar story with Occult Academy now that I reminisce.
I wouldn't say there's anything to rectify there though...

Sket Dance 40

I like the new OP a lot. Seems like there's gonna be a focus on Tsubaki's relationship with Bossun and that may tie into his backstory. This episode does seem to be foreshadowing something with those 2.

He's the one that made me add the category.

You know what, I'm just gonna make a key to describe the classes since a few people seem to be confused.

Class S: Super Monocle People: The quintessential elitist. Often use phrases like "lowest common denominator", "you have bad taste", "this hurts my eyes", "anime is dead", etc. Will nitpick the most insignificant details and expect everyone else to be bothered by it too and if they aren't, those people's opinions are no longer trustworthy. Prone to looking down on others for this reason and believing they are almost always the one in the right.

Ex: "What, you like (X Anime)!? You have terrible taste and are probably a less than stellar human being all around! You must have dropped out of grade school if you think this has good writing or is of acceptable quality in any way!"

Class A: Fake Monocle People: A toned down class S. While still noticeably elitist, they are a bit more forgiving of others who don't agree with them. They are still unlikely to trust that person though.

Ex: "You like (X Anime)? Damn son, you should probably get an eye check and/or an education. Here's 5 bucks for a library card, so go read or something."

Class B: Refined Retina Displacement Theory: On the border between Monocle and Mustache. Still have their own brand of elitism, but it is more subdued and may not be immediately noticeable. As it is a broad category, the levels of elitism will vary greatly.

Ex: "You like (X Anime)? I guess that's fair, but damn... Remind me not to take recommendations from you 0_o"

Class C: All around mustache club: Mostly friendly and non-confrontational. Won't go out of their way to insult the tastes of others and will usually accept the different people like different things. There may be some latent elitism that will show on occasion, but for the most part they will be just as happy ignoring a tastes scuffle.

Ex: "You like (X Anime)? Well I don't think it's good, but we can still be friends. Let's have a snowball fight!"

Class D: Boys in Dresses Boys in dresses.

Moustache 4 lyfe!

My take on the fake monocles were people who try and act monocle, but cant really pull it off and everyone just looks past it.

http://geass.jp/nunnally/

Nunnally in Wonderland announced! Some time in 2012 they will be releasing a book+blu-ray (and book+DVD) package which contains a 40 page storybook along with video footage featuring an original story in the Code Geass universe. It features Nunnally and is inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Takahiro Kimura is overseeing this project.

This is an equal mix strangely inevitable and thoroughly bizarre.
http://geass.jp/

Here's a summary of upcoming Code Geass products:

- Code Geass: Akito the Exiled (Anime)
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Stage Play
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Musical Play
- Nunnally in Wonderland (Storybook)
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Pachislot
- Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion Social Game (Mobile game)

There is one more panel for something not revealed yet, but I'm reading from the people who were at the event that they announced a movie project for Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. It is not known if they are compilation movies or a remake or something else at this point of time.

Dear lord. How we've gone from 'zero Geass' to 'six Geass' things is too much for me to handle

Chihayafuru 12:
Man, Chihaya's sister sucks. But she barely has any screen time, so it's all good. Taichi is still awesome, of course. The teacher got some decent characterization in this episode, too. I like the scene with her secretly observing the club. Harada is also amazing, of course. Now I'm looking forward to seeing the tournament.

Anyway here are more details on various shit:
[...]- Akito the Exiled looks pretty high quality, in the trailer they showed. The mecha action is pretty much entirely CG (stop, don't run away!) but it looks VERY high quality and extremely detailed and fluid. The character animation (not CG!) looks great to.o[...]

After the things you've said about Rebuild's CG animation I don't know if you can be trusted.

Yeah that CG does not look good at all. I know, youtube quality and everything, but still.
