I can't say much about the show beyond what I've already expanded. I guess I could comment how not a single episode has been wasted on filler? . Even greats like Card Captor Sakura have their one or two throwaway episodes. I don't think I could skip any in Tutu without feeling like I missed something.
So I take it it was Fakir's powers what killed his parents? The episode wasn't too explicit about who the shadows on the ground were during the flashback.

fight between Fakir and Raven!Mytho was incredible, although the overuse of panning shots took some of the tension out from it.
