Bob Papa you mean? Papa is fine as the radio announcer, yeah. He sucked on Thursday Night Football. I disagree with you on Banks though. I think he's a pretty solid analyst when he's calling games. Far from a homer as he's more than willing to shit on the Giants when they play a poor game.

Just curious as to what comment specifically set you off as I'm not listening to WFAN at the moment.

He probably just said the Giants win by a touchdown. The Legendary is tissue sensitive.

Not doing any work today. Painful sitting at my desk.

The spawn of hell and they're not even trying to hide the fact.

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled is convincing the world he didn't exist. Your secret's out, satan worshipers!

They should both have black eyes. It would complete the image.

Also, Herzlich is the only Giant not practicing today. Bradshaw, Ware, Ross, Grant, Webster, Tuck and Osi are all full go.

Has Herzlich gotten any snaps on defense this season?
Yes. He started one or two games when Boley went down with a hamstring injury. His first start was the second Eagles game as the middle linebacker.

How is Spags a genius again? b/c I can tell you his defenses weren't very good in STL. Now you can say that's a talent issue (of his own making), and I'd say "no fucking shit!" Dude had Jim Johnson pulling the trigger in Philly, then when he got his shot in NY, he had an incredible defensive line. You're kidding yourself if you think he'll solve whatever issues there are in ATL. You need talent there, not Spags' shit ass schemes

Hell, McDaniels is probably a better coach/staff guy than Spags. McDaniels may have just coached one of the worst offenses in history, but he did have some success w/o Brady in NE, and a little success in DEN initially. He just can't adjust to changing circumstances. He kept thinking NE's OL was somehow going to materialize in STL, no matter how many QBs he got knocked out.

But he clearly has an eye for offensive talent, and I'm not including Tebow. Spags has no eye for defensive talent. Lauranitis is okay, but who gives a crap about a 4-3 MLB?

From reading the Atlanta Journal-Constitution sports, the Falcons are likely to go after Mike Nolan and Steve Spagnuolo. Could be a bidding war with the Eagles over Spagnuolo.

Nolan is a 3-4 guy while the Falcons are 4-3 but one of the posters said Nolan ran a 4-3 at Washington before he was DC for the Jets. Also, he did so well with the Broncos running a 3-4, maybe the Falcons would switch. Abraham may be leaving. I wonder if Ray Edwards could work in a 3-4.

No matter how big of an asshole McDaniels is, I think he'll eventually get another shot at a HC position somewhere in the NFL. No one cares if you're an asshole as long as you're successful and he seems to have a skillset that can be successful given how much more important offenses are in today's NFL.

McDaniels turned Kyle Orton from an incredibly shitty Bears QB into a top 10 QB in one year. Then he and the team imploded. Too bad he can't draft defensive players for the Patriots.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been granted permission to interview two up-and-coming assistant coaches, according to league sources.

The Bucs are set to interview Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer for the team's vacant head coaching position and also have been granted permission to interview Carolina Panthers first-year offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinksi.

The Zimmer-led Bengals posted the league's No. 7 defense this past season and rode the unit's success to a wild-card berth. The Bucs twice witnessed the difference Chudzinski has made in Carolina in his first season there, as the Panthers hung up a combined 86 points in two wins over the Bucs this season.

A source with knowledge of the situation said Thursday that Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips has pulled his name out of contention for the Bucs' head coaching spot.

I love this, I've seen this play a 100 times but it's always been the NFL Films version.

His helmet impacts are better appreciated in slo motion though.

Damn that is awesome in slow motion.

NFL's hardest hits: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&NR=1&v=hCTyEmvvZJo

Everyone of those hits would get a flag in todays NFL. Even though the Eagles are not in it I cant wait for tomorrows games. Go 9ers, and go Tebow!

As a Niner fan, i'm really nervous about our chances against the Saints. Niners D have made a couple of backups look good this year.

If I were Fangio, I'd tell me Secondary and LB's to take flags for illegal contact and PI's all day. Make them run it in the endzone. Give up the yards and not the points. As long as Brees doesn't get into any sort of rhythm. Make nothing easy, turn it into an ugly game. "Give them nothing! But take from them everything!"

Other than that..."Any given Sunday (or playoff Saturday)", "This is why they play the Games", and of course... In Harbaugh We Trust.

Go Niners!

Even with all the hoopla, fuck the Broncos/Tebow posts, and Pats fans guaranteeing 3 TD blowouts, this is pure gravy at this point. Even at this stage I won't forget this season. To go from 1-4 to 8-8 and the crazy way it happened will cement this as one of my favorite seasons to be a part of. It's nice that all the expectations to win are squarely on the shoulders of the Pats. The Broncos should feel zero pressure because according to just about everyone they aren't supposed to be here.

If Chud leaves, he better at least stay away from that black hole in Tampa Bay...he'll get chewed up and spit out in two seasons since the owners are hoarding all their cash for their soccer team.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Pats lose. The -14,5 spread is insane, and everybody gives them the win already which worries me, hope the players stay focused and start off well tomorrow. It will probably be way too close for comfort.

The spread I feel is reasonable considering the results from last time. If anything all I'm hoping for is a good game at this point.

Anyone know what the spread has been for the last 2 Pats home playoff games?

Chud is a pretty awesome coach. He was great when he was at Cleveland and I always wanted them to try him at OC.

The Broncos got outscored by 81 points on the season.

They aren't supposed to be in the second round of the playoffs. Not sure why you think they should have a shot against the Pats based on how they've played.

You're right, they've had some luck getting here. Pats should win and decisively. Pats are more healthy, have a better offense, and are at home. If the defense holds up, then it should be an easy win. Ravens are about the only team left in the AFC that could manhandle them. If Houston gets there they might have a shot. Who would you guys rather face?

Nothing against you, but the Broncos are one of the few AFC teams that have consistently beaten the Pats since Belichick became their coach. They annoy me and that 2005 game still haunts me.

Houston and the Ravens could both win. Suggs destroys the Patriots and I'd rather not face him. The Pats defense is just what Flacco needs to become a Super Bowl quarterback. I'd say Houston. They have a rookie quarterback who relies on the run.

I moved to Boston the first week of 2006. Getting to troll Patriots fans in Boston the day they lost to the Broncos like a week after I got there is still one of my favorite memories from my three+ years there.

I know it's not personal. Past is the past and those were different teams. According to old records Denver should have won at home, but as we saw Pats still have the advantage of being the better team.
