the compatibility is exactly the same, but how about the remote play quality itself? better image quality? less lag? etc

Is it really? I haven't been able to play Killzone 3 or any other remote play compatible PS3 title.

I can play any/every PS1 title & mini that I have.

It is probably just the Vita running a video file and he is pressing the buttons for the sake of the feature.

I hadn't tried it before, as I have a smartphone I usually use. For occasional browsing I'll probably still use the smartphone as its always in my pocket and available (gaf is pinned to the start screen). But for longer reading sessions I might start using the vita as the increased width of the screen feels more restful for my eyes.

And Minna no Golf 6.

I thought Minna no Golf was only asynchronous - i.e competing and posting scores to online leader boards? Can you set up proper realtime online lobbies too?



edit: Shihiko (http://mingol.shihiko.net/?page_id=32) is saying he managed to get online with the Asia version of Mingol and the JPN online pass. Its a long shot, but that might open up DLC/online passes to be region free? Wonder if its worth risking buying a UK online pass and trying with mingol, or just rebuy everybody's golf in the UK?

I'm getting a wifi unit, am a little confused with this 'near' business.

Is it like the 3ds whereby you leave wifi on and the unit in standy mode when you're out and about to pick up high scores, items etc. Trying to work out if i'll be missing out on anything in comparison with the 3G device.

It does if you manually put it into sleep mode. If you just leave it alone and let it enter sleep mode itself it'll keep downloading.
