Blazer Drive:

Due to this post, I will start this manga. I enjoyed 666 Satan... until the tourney/timeskip. where I just couldnt stand to follow it any further. It was Claymore'd. But I'm definitely a fan of the less known younger Kishimoto.

I wouldn't bother reading it unless you just want to follow his work. Not only has he started on a new manga this month, but this manga ended about 2 years ago at around chapter 34 (very early) and the final chapters still haven't been scanlated after all this time.

ouch.

I've been meaning to go and read 666 Satan. Does it really get that bad? I had stopped around ~30-40 chapters in for ... reasons I can't quite remember.

It was good for the most part, then a time skip happened and the series seemed to lead up to a one chapter BS ending. Besides the ending it wasn't that bad.

Blazer Drive was pretty good though I'm not sure where that ending came from. I actually wish it went on a little longer.

On another note, I just finished all 38 Volumes of Samurai Deeper Kyo. Surprisingly good manga aside from the over reactions to killer aura and the sudden surges of it for come from behind wins.

Rental Magica vol 5

Lapis was creepy cute. Ichika acting all pissed off and badass when told
Ady was killed
was pretty cool, though his reaction when learning that wasn't true was even better.

Misora Class volume 2

Better than the first volume, but still totally retarded. The mom is a mix between a caring mother and a completely manipulative bitch.

Legend of the Strongest Man Kurosawa vol 8-9

The Japanese Batman

Kurosawa certainly came up with a complex plan to stop the middle school punks from constantly attacking him. It did involve a lot of luck since getting the owner to work with you is very risky. Plus the owner was such a cheapskate for only giving coupons. Oh and priest Kurosawa was hilarious.

Kurosawa breakdown in volume 9 was tragic. The poor guy regrets his life :( And then he started chilling with hobos and now got himself in a fight with a biker gang. Dude just nevers catches a break. Though I don't think it will be a tough battle. He got his own army plus Nakane should be there as backup.

Good enough for me. I've dealt with terrible endings before and this probably won't be the worst of it.

I enjoyed SDK despite the flaws but, seriously, there's so many come backs that it's ridiculous. How do you even feasibly have five in one fight?

That's about my only big beef with SDK. There's literally no training or learning new techniques (for the most part). It's just "I believe in myself or over came a personal issue, MOAR POWER!" which is stupid and awesome at the same time.

On the other hand, the characters are pretty good and the story itself is actually fairly nice too. I also liked that he had some female characters that fought and were fairly strong.

She. Don't know why, but always figured it was a woman before I actually knew based on the Code:Breaker art.

Oh, well. That would explain why the manga is such fangirl bait with all the of the guys.

Dresden: Well, obviously? It is manga published in Shounen Magazine. Story is long though. I do have a few problems with the way the author handled that now that I think about it.

It's rather astonishing that it went on that long; was so confused to find out it was nearly 40 volumes in length. Unfortunately, every extension felt rather artificial, though. Oops, your
body is in another castle!

Really? i heard the MC was basically one shotting dudes for a while (though to be fair that was supposedly the anime).

Maybe i will check it out one day.

Now you know how I feel about Kamen Rider Spirits.

And how I feel about Tetsuwan Girl.

this is why i try to not read anything "new"

plus you can blame God's Beard for Tetsuwan Girl :P

Ippo

Saki is doing well. Poor old model. He's doomed.

Karate Sometitlethatiswaytoolong Kohinata no Minoru.

He's going to beat up that kid with the head gear from King of the Hill.

Bakuman

...Why the fuck is it only one of them? Just next quarter two Jump manga will become anime (both of them not even being that popular). This makes no sense.

Animate both. Come on.

TWGOK

I still think the best way to do this would be to revert whatever happened rather than making them forgive him

Oh well, maybe he could use the Vintage attack to look cool

TWGOK

I imagine this is the real "shit just got real" moment of this arc. Also, this Vintage chick is giving me weird evil/fem Katsuragi vibes but I have no real way to rationalize that. This is gonna be great.

There is a conspiracy going on to make Chitoge the best girl and as part of the Onodera Brigade, I'm not liking that.

I don't even know why people make teams, when it's writen in stone that the main girl going to win(the tsundere if you don't know).

Not saying much but the one shot is better then crappy weekly manga verison.

Jump Special New Year's Pages?

I noticed during the break/this week that a couple of Jump manga scanlations had a "single special page" at the end of them for the New Year/Golden Week. For example, Bakuman 162, and Toriko 170 (the Na Wa Mata Noburu scanlation of this chapter also included the Hunter X Hunter page with Yuusuke from Yu Yu Hakusho in it). Did all the Jump mangas have these pages?

TWGOK Ayumi's internal monologue thing confused me, she realised she acted differently ? Not entirely sure where this'll go.

Bakuman I really didn't like this chapter ... It might because I have a headache, but it was so difficult to read.

It makes sense in terms of unnaturally extending Bakuman's length since it sells well.

Also, why doesn't Ayumi notice the oddness of a fucking chick living in the mirror?

I learned if you are going to read something obscure, make sure the fans are dedicated and a bit crazy.

Bakuman

Why is this manga so stupid? Oh yeah we can only pick one of our top two most popular new manga to be animated. That's really smart.

These lames attempts to extend the length of Bakuman aren't even creative anymore.

It's about choosing which one will take Crow's place in the timeslot.

The worst part is that they will probably animate Reversi yet it will be the newly introduced girl and not Miho who gets the main role.

Really? What chapter did it start going downhill?
You can't really pinpoint it to an exact chapter since it's a long process of adding more useless shit to extend the length of the series. Though you can say the chapter about PCP getting anime was the highlight of how dumb this manga is

Oh fuck, this shit better not happen. I will rage if it does

Doesn't really make sense though. That means both series will be animated either way. I guess they can make it into a timeslot battle even after he marries her... but then, there's not really much you could do to change a timeslot once it was set. The timeslot isn't really a thing.

Wait a second... they might decide to decline an anime just because it's in a worse timeslot than Zombie Gun.

Well fuck. Now I think this is pretty likely.

Actually, not really. That whole body thing stopped around Volume 8-9 and then it only came into play at the end. it spent 30 volumes on the story arc and that thing was only mentioned a few times. that's kind of the problem I have. The story itself is entirely centered on long arc which is nice for continuity but it's just one freaking arc. Woof.

That's pretty early on and it stops being like that after Vol 6-7 or so. I'd say SDK's fights aren't as good as they could but but they're more than enough. Perhaps at the same level as Bleach (note, I don't think Bleach fights are particularly good most of the tmie). The author relies too much on a few things to fuel the fights inbetween the techniques.

Legend of the Strongest Man Kurosawa vol 10-11 END

These last two volumes were so epic and the final fight was intense. Kurosawa convincing the entire hobo army to mobilize was awesome. Even his plan was too complex with the rolling fire, the spears and not to mention the crane thing which he didn't even bother using. I wanted Nakane to fight more, but he wasn't the focus of this fight so it's understandable that his only role was just beating the crap out of Miki.

And god damn it, that ending. So fucking manly.
Why did Kurosawa have to die? :( Life is so unfair. At least he died among his friends.

Overall, it's a great manga. So many awesome moments, so many hilarious moments and intense fights. The art is meh, but who cares. It's not that much of an important criteria when it comes to manga either way for me. It's one of these rare manga where I don't pay the attention to the page count of the volume while reading cause I'm just concentrated on the story.

After I finish Honey and Clover, I'm gonna move on to Gambling Emperor Zero. Should be expecting great things.

Apparently, Fukumoto confirmed that he didn't. Kind of weird considering the implications. Maybe that invalidates the end, maybe it doesn't.

Eh, true. I guess it really was just that one super long arc after
Nobunaga
. Something about the 20+ volume mark just felt awkward in the length to me. General surprise that it took 38 volumes to get to where it did. Not that I didn't enjoy it but when I first found out about the length, I was really confused at that fact. Was a fun ride, though.

Whaaa? Seems to me he is just appealing to the fans cause the manga kinda made pretty clear that he did. Either way I don't think it invalidates the ending since Kurosawa still
realized that he got what he wanted all along, friends that are there for him. I'm just gonna go with him dying and pretend Fukumoto never said anything.

The ant spread was really incredible. Went straight into my favorite moments folder.

Did you read Buraiden Gai? I did a while back and it was pretty crazy too

Yeah I read it a while ago. It was pretty cool manga and had another epic final battle. I didn't like Gai as much as Kurosawa, but overall the scenarios he was involved in and the prison ward were both fun.
