There's something about the story that really doesn't work for me. The set pieces are great but the overall flow of the story just seems too segmented from the previous two games.

Well apparently they come up with the set pieces first than make the stories around those.

So that makes sense. Still love it though (well, I liked 1 and 2)

That second quarter broke their backs. Pats are healthy this time, are at home, and can score fast enough to make it hard for Denver to catch up. They are the better team on paper, and showed it in the last meeting. Turnovers were a big part of that but looking back the Pats defense stepped up and forced them irc. I think Denver's best chance to win is to bury them from the beginning and not look back. A close game doesn't favor them in this match up imo.

It will all depend on how the O-line plays. If they can keep Brady standing up and we don't see any hits like the Dumerville hit the last time around, Brady should play a good game. I'm expecting the D to suck again, so Brady has to score 40 points.

I love the set pieces this time. I am also playing in 3D and this is one of the games that I feel it adds the most to. To the people that played Batman AC, does it pick up at some point? I loved AA but I got AC and only played like 5 or so hours and got really bored. The city feels to samey or something. I really liked all the variety of locations in AA.

Yeah I played for 3 hours and am in the same boat. I chalked it up to being consumed by Skyrim. I'm starting over again to see if it grabs me a little better.

I loved AC, second best to only Skyrim this year for me personally. Loved the story and the villains in AC, it never stopped entertaining me.

I was banned last week so I have to make up for it:

This must be though for you Tabris, only 2/3 of your teams are still alive.

a) What you talking about? Colts won the Suck for Luck championships 3/3
b) I'll be cheering for Ravens up to AFC Championship then I just cheer for my true team, I don't want them playing my Giants.

Speaking of Skyrim, I dunno what happened. I just stopped playing one day and never went back. Oh well, I got 60 hours out of it, $1 per hour of gameplay is my sweet spot.

Not that this applies to you but it reminded me of a post I saw on the gaming side

Some guy was ripping that Star Wars MMO and saying it wasn't innovative or doing anything that WoW hadn't already done and was just okay. That he wasn't going to renew his subscription beyond the free month, even though he had maxed out two characters and put in 300 hours! It was so terrible he played an average of 10 hours a day.

I've never played an MMO and haven't got to Skyrim, but it always cracks me up when people will put huge amounts of time in to a game and then say it wasn't anything special.

So if the Pats manage to defeat the Tebows and the Ravens manage to defeat the Texans. Does that mean you will root for the Patriots in the AFCC game?

Ohh... I could never cheer for the ugly Tom Brady and the New England Cheaters. That's a hard one. Maybe I cheer for Ravens and hope Flacco gets injured during the game (that would probably be a good thing for the Ravens though). Ehhh, NYG can beat Ravens, so I'll cheer for the Ravens up until the end.

My wife always gives me a hard time because I put like 130 hours into Oblivion and I always say how much I hate that game.

At least you are basing your hate on actually playing the game extensively. It's much worse when someone puts a minimal amount of time in and declares their hate, without giving a game a shot. I could see if the game was a shitfest and unplayable from the get go, but if it's a playable game you sometimes have to dig in and hope that it gets better later.

I saw someone on the gaming side get nailed for that just the other day. They were going on about how horrible KZ3 was and someone pointed out that they only had like 1 or 2 trophies in the game. It is so stupid to me that people will go around slamming a game they have barely even tried. There are so many games that I have wound up loving that I didnt like when I first tried them.

I actually just bought two 3D glasses through Amazon (100 bucks) so I'll check that out. Was surprised how nice the 3D in SotC was.

I just don't feel good about this game because of the last few seasons. I think the Pats will start slow on offense again, and will lose because of that. I think the Pats defense will be better against the run in Chung/Spikes are healthy, but they still won't be able to stop the run consistently.

I'll be missing the first quarter today. :(

Either way after all the nonsensical talk all week, I'm still hoping it's a close/fun game.

Well this is a tough game for Pats fans, b/c as Simmons said, there's not much upside. But really, it will probably be over by halftime

On the other hand, that little shit McDaniels can't lose. Win and he gets to keep going in the playoffs. Lose, and he keeps getting credit for the talent he drafted in Denver, ignoring that said talent didn't prosper until he left. Dude is made of teflon

Also man it sucks having to work today. I am going to miss the early game today, and most of the Pats game.

Edit: I'm going to make my pick. The Saints will win in a blow out 21+, and Brees will still be playing late in the 4th.

The clueless Denver sports radio guys spent the week calling us saying that we have more to lose, Tebow is a top tier QB, etc.

Hearing them again would be the worst part of a loss for me.

What does Denver have to lose? Squeaked into the playoffs with a neutral record 8-8, in the worst division in football this year. We are lucky to be here, period. Like I've said over and again, as well as some of the other Denver fans in this thread, we are just enjoying the crazy train and anything beyond this point is icing on the cake.

Pats on the other hand have a winning record, are the first seed, and definitely have expectations of an AFC championship game at the very least. Add into the fact that have been knocked out early in the last few years, and you can see that they are the team that has expectations to meet.

I'm not trying to pull one over on you, it's just easy to lose sight of the fact that the Pats are not underdogs in this game by any means.

I'm not saying we're the underdogs. I'm saying we both lose an opportunity to the AFC Championship. Simple as that. If I were a betting man, then I would tell you Denver has more to lose just on the fact they are currently overachieving at the moment. I don't think Denver is a slouch, but certainly ahead of schedule in terms of where this team should have been. So you might not see this team in the post season anytime soon. I'd just be enjoying the ride.

Patriots? As long as Brady is around we are still going to maintain a level of success. Just business as usually around here.

Either way I know I'll be happy with this season. It answered a lot of questions that lingered throughout the season.
