Dude, that's awesome! This thread needs more custom Lego creations! More creativity! Less kits put together per the instructions!!!
Here is one of my pride and joys. It is the Argo from Star Blazers (or Space Battleship Yamato for you hardcore anime fans). I put this together 20 years ago. Yep, that's right, this Lego model has been together for 20 years. It's moved from my mom's house to my ex-wife's apartment to my brother's house to my current house, and through it all it has never been taken apart. Star Blazers was and still is my favorite cartoon of all time. This is actually the fourth iteration of this model, I built three others in high school before I put this one together. My brother at one point had a Lego Andromeda from Star Blazers to go alongside it, as well as Desslock's command ship, but those have been "recycled" for a long time now. But my Argo still remains, and will most likely never be taken apart:
The Sydney Opera House is such an elegant structure, but this. . . is not. It looks clunky, like fallen dominoes. Not liking it.Not sure if anyone has seen, buuuut:

Honestly, not that impressed...Really sad that TLG opted to do SOH on a small scale like this.

I love it. I love mini scale models as much as the big ones. In fact I think I almost like mini modulars more than the regular ones. There's certain creativity and ingenuity associated with mini models that really clicks with me.
Microscale models are amazing:

These are my favorites to look at on MOCpages. They remind of Katamari, haha. Something about SOH just doesn't work with me.
Those architecture sets just seem like a rip off, all of the sets I've seen at stores are just a couple of flat pieces you could get with any real set with a better variety of pieces. /bitterpeoplerant (That Burj Khalifa thing is the definition of a rip off)
Thanks to leng jai I was able to find the set# of the set I've been trying to find for ages(6999) and it seems pretty expensive on ebay, is there any other places I should look? Will the lego store have sets this old?
I just discovered the whole lego digital designer thing with the design by me products. Only to realize the last orders they are taking are Jan. 16... Any one know if they have any plans to still support the software once the program is over. Or is this going to be left up to the Lego community?
Does Toys R Us carry the bigger sets in store? I went looking for the flagship today and struck out. The store I went to had a pretty large LEGO section but it was barren; just a few Star Wars and City sets. Didn't see the modulars either. How's the assortment at Walmart?

Have you guys seen pics of two of the Royal Joust sets combined? I like the normal one but I said goddamn when I saw this:
This thread is dangerous. After reading it, I ordered the Fire Station and Grand Emporium modulars. Wallet am cry!
You forgot Pet Shop!
Actually, I also bought GE and FB this week and my wife will kill me if I don't wait a while to get Pet Shop and Town Hall. I also blame it on this thread.

Nice.
wonder why the Grand Emporium is 30% more expensive than the Fire Station, even though the fire station has more bricks? Does the GE have larger bricks?
They were both $150 when I bought them last week.
On the note of Microscales and figures. Been thinking of grabbing that Star Wards Advent set. The micro ship figs worth it?

And the GE was cheaper than the FB where i bought em, 130 vs 140
Got the Imperial Flagship, though it cost me $50 more than if I had picked it up before it went OOP. Need to keep on top of that from now on. Here's a listing I found on Brickset:
10194 emerald night december 2011 (maersk train will replace this item)
10199 winter toy shop december 2011
10193 medieval market village december 2012
10197 fire brigade december 2012
10216 winter village bakery december 2012
10219 maersk train december 2013
10211 grand emporium december 2013
10214 tower bridge december 2013 (extended due to popularity)
10217 diagon alley december 2013
10218 pet shop december 2013
Personally, I wouldn't wait until November to pick up Fire Brigade.
This was lego trains in my day http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n7hzzD_eZhk&feature=related
Most of the track was single blue plastic beams, and you mounted them on 8x2 plates at either end to hold them at the right distance apart.
I had (should still be at my parents somewhere) the Precursor to that train: The Metro Liner. Aboslutely wonderful =)

Time to make some calls...Spent some time chatting with a Lego dude and he suggested anyone looking for the Imperial Flagship should just start calling Lego stores across the country. He said if they have one, they'll ship it to you. He also mentioned it had been marked down to $100(!), which helped move the left over stock. Great price for that set, so it's definitely worth the effort to make the calls.
Haha, that's insane. Is this usually done for resale value?
Holy shit, that bag build is amazing, lol.
Nah, it's usually more of a personal challenge, haha. If it were a resale thing, I WOULD do all five minis like this! It took me 8 hours or so working on and off.
