I'm sorry everyone!
Okay, but then blame 95% of all animes shows for such fanservice.
In pretty much every post he wrote about Rinne no Langrange was a part of the fanservice, so yeah...
Well, I'm not really talking about how fanservice operates in anime as a whole, I'm just making a comment about it in this particular case. I haven't even passed judgement on it's usage, I'm just confirming that it is present.

If I wanted to pass judgement I'd say something like: "The number of male-gaze shots, revealing outfits and exploitative camera work within this title seems unnecessary considering the light-hearted nature of the material. It doesn't really add anything to the show and it's removal would make the show more accessible."

Fairy Tail 45
Gotta say I like the show much more when isn't the Natsu show. Lucy got a good fight with Loki, Juvia was awesome and Kana was crap as usual.
Too bad, it's back to the Natsu show next episode.

You like Lucy fights? I like Cana moments in the anime, her skills are nice, though Im only up to episode 24. (and a recent episode or two).

Natsu is nice...but do they still reuse his skill animations even at 45 episodes in?

Lucy isn't terrible. Up to where I am, her fights are less summon the right one to get an OHKO, but instead it was pretty well done. Though, it could just be due to all Loki.

I don't think they still reuse the same animations for Natsu. That or they cut down on the length of it where it isn't noticeable anymore.

The antithesis of hnnnngh.

I dont mind serious or plodding shows. Gasaraki was just fucking boring. I mean literally I cant get through a single episode of it without zoning out and falling asleep. It is so incredibly boring.

Oops I meant to quote something else.
But I didnt like Gantz because it was just a bunch of violence with no real point to it and the art is hideous.

Those character designs are straight up Ghibli.

The movies might as well be considered being made by Ghibli. They're that good.

I didnt like Gantz either.

That's because Gantz the anime sucks.
It's among my 4 most hated anime series which are not THAT bad (okay, Gantz is pretty bad, the worst of the four), but I hate them purely for having a huge fanbase that mislead me while I was an inexperienced anime fan.
The other 3 are Samurai Deeper Kyo, Hellsing and Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien.
The last one especially - second highest rated anime of all time on Animenfo (does anyone remember this site?), that shit really fooled me.

Rinne no Lagrange 02: Pretty standard as far as pilots rediscovering their motivation to pilot plots go. Still, it's hard not to get excited about this show. It feels like someone is actually having fun when animating this, either for the mecha or the cute girls. It's definitely more bodacious than Bodacious Space Pirates.

The mecha being CGI in airship mode and 2D in Gundam mode is weird.

I like Hellsing and KGNE.
Those shows are ok. KGNE is way too melodramatic though. I bought it as "Rumbling Hearts".

And yes, I still post on animenfo sometimes. I used to talk to Cadberry a lot and my roommate is still very active on that forum.

I remember them having Twelve Kingdoms listed as having 63 episodes. I waited forever for episodes 46-63, but they never came :(

My roommate has two versions of this series. Maybe three. however many releases there are of it. I have one as well. Its really really great.

I still dont understand how anime can be pretetious, or how someone knows when something is being specifically pretentious.

Because it feels like a misanthropic screed by a teenage hipster who thinks making unironic trash is ironic.

So in english you mean a show that knows it is fucked up shit and thrives on that notion.

A work is only as pretentious as its audience perceives it to be. That's why you have people who are practically guaranteed to "hate" a work person X makes because they've already made up their mind as to whether person X is pretentious or not, as opposed to person Y who's work they will worship no matter how crap the end product, because they're convinced that person isn't pretentious, but rather brilliant.

Sounds like the definition of a fanboy.

::adds "pretentious" to list of words not to mention here, next to EVA and K-ON and some others I don't remember::

I say it is pretentious because I think I would've enjoyed it more if I was very into literary analysis.

(Which I'm not, seeing as how Nise is already my AOTY)

I still wish 'pretentuitous' had taken off. It's like gratuitous, but pretentious, sort of like the amalgam of giraffe + graffiti for giraffiti.

"All of Yuasa's works are painfully pretentuitous."

Am I using it right?
