Gantz seemed like an exercise in emotional torture (I haven't read the manga so I can't say if that's better or not).

The Gantz manga feels awesome when you first start it because it feels like its building to something awesome but then it never does and the plot point they just spent dozens of chapters on is dropped for something completely different. Then you realize there is never going to be an explanation for any of the crazy shit that happens because they don't have a clue where this thing is going.

So a serialized trainwreck? Glad I avoided it.

In more important news, I didn't know there was a (good) Aria spinoff:

So basically, if someone doesnt agree with something in an anime, it is pretentious?
I've seen it used more times as verbal 'ammunition' against other people's opinion than not, because... sincerely... can we really say things like "pretentious" at everyone? Where are the universal measures?

pretentious (comparative more pretentious, superlative most pretentious)

1. Marked by an unwarranted claim to importance or distinction. Their song titles are pretentious in the context of their basic lyrics.

2. Ostentatious; intended to impress others. Her dress was obviously more pretentious than comfortable.

- wiktionary
Using some online dictionary rather than a real dictionary? How pretentious.

Dogs regularly try to rape people, horny little bastards.

Hey cajun, Ergo Proxy did have one thing going for it: Pino. One of the most :cajun characters ever. I actually found her obliviousness to everything around her pretty tragic and one of the only things Ergo Proxy did right (whether it was intentional I'll never know).

You know a one episode show thats really fun (but is entirely composed of amateur CG)?
Cat Blue Dynamite. Look it up.
It is a 70's style exploitation action show starring a blue catgirl and cheesy 70s one liners, musclecars, disco, afros, plenty of violence, and a sexy villain.

Also, I just read this short artcile and found it interesting because I totally bought into all the gimmicky stuff that used to come with boxsets.

It's only like 71 minutes long iirc. Although if you fall asleep, it may feel longer.
It may be 71 minutes but it felt way longer than that.

Like how time can flow differently when you're in an english class than when you're in a math class.

Everything in Ergo Proxy was intentional, of course it wasn't all good.

Angel's Egg was kind of a grind for me. I actually did fall asleep during it, but that was mainly because I was living on 5 hours of sleep daily that semester.

Rinne no Lagrange 02

This show is just fun, and that is fine by me. It's just plain enjoyable for me to watch.

Also I loop the OP for hours on end... Like at least 6 hours every day, and I don't get tired of it. I have no clue why, but I can't stop listening. When the OP single for the first half releases, i'm gonna have my friend in Japan get me a copy. I love Megumi Nakajima's voice.

It makes up for it with symbolism.
I read an analysis where the angel's egg symbolized
the girl's innocence (read: virginity), and then the guy breaking it with his sword is, well, you know.

Kind of like T&A.

Bro-fist. That blend of funk/house is my kryptonite. I actually thought it was Kanno at first, but read the credits to see that it was Rasmus Faber. I do feel like he used Kanno's compositions from Frontier as a starting point for Nakajima though. They worked so well for her.

This is fast becoming my favorite this season. Instead of an wangsty boy, we're given a
genki girl with a mystery on her ass.
