is it native vita res?
We're all lost after the Japanese Vita thread was closed for no apparent reason.More pics of random things.
Why aren't you guys posting this in the US thread? I thought that was the main thread for now.

and the lack of online multiplayer in Modnation Racers kills my desire for that title dead in the water.

Damn, as smooth and as good as that looks, I may have to get that. With cross platform online it basically seems like a no brainier.

Vita - the line up from now and for a while is pretty crazy - i just wonder if they'd spread the "launch titles" out a bit more they could have had more focus. Not that i care!
this week : Wipeout - Stardust
next week : Tales
2nd Feb : Ragnarok Odyssey
9th Feb : Gravity Daze , Sumioni
16th Feb : Good people die, Fifa, Lumines
March : MLB THE SHOW
March : Ruin
March : SF x Tekken
Apparently Silent Hill and Resistance in there too?
wallet is going to be significantly slimmer after this (+3ds games , but that's not for here!)
SF X Tekken is in march!? Is that NA as well?
Wow, that load time is ridiculous. 38 second. How is that even possible on solid state media?
Took 5 minutes for me and I'm using Pocket Wifi.![]()
I'm in work so I guess it's time I took a bathroom break.![]()
no idea for NA, and the list i was looking at might be wrong.
Isn't it 400mb?You downloaded 4GB in 5 minutes on a WiFi connection!?
I'll remain hopeful! That would be pretty sick. Already planning on HSG and Lumines at launch, SF X Tekken a month later would be great (but not for my GPA).
lol, N64 and Mario 64 came out just as i was hitting my final year project deadline and revision for my final set of university exams. Tough times.

All that awesome takes time to load, it's awesome decompression tax.
Ask Ridge Racer 3D that.
I agree with this. If Vita games are going to take any serious amount of time to load that system's chances of success are drastically slashed. I'm at the point of hating load times and start-up screens on home consoles; on a mobile platform that's just totally unacceptable. I should be playing your game in under ten seconds from deciding I want to.

At 38s that better be some amazing compression. How big was the demo?
you are seriously confused if you think studio liverpool is incompetent. At 38s that better be some amazing compression. How big was the demo? Edit: 404MB? that's crap. It hardly justifies those load times.
That's just sad, Takao. If you're going to go into fanboy defence mode, at least do your homework first. 11 seconds vs 38 seconds. Whist neither are ideal that's not even with the same ballpark.
But no, go on, it'd be silly of us to discuss the shortcomings and bad design decisions of a game without having to turn it into some sort of fanboy war.
I'm pretty sure the long load times are the fault of Studio Liver Pools own incompetence/bad priorities and not a fault of the system itself. Assuming the cards can be read at a sustained speed of at least 30MBps (which is hardly unreasonable) and 128MB of the system RAM is reserved for the OS and sub apps, then the longest load time possible for data that does not need to be compressed or procedurally generated is 17 seconds. I suspect the Vita cards are actually much faster than that, though.

Even the best of us are incompetent in some ways.
The loading times are pretty ridiculous, but it is absolutely gorgeous. It's strange though- this is the only demo I can't get to work on my US PSN account. Just switched accounts, and it seems like it is tied to the JPSN store. Other demos like Virtua Tennis, Gravity Daze and even Dynasty Warriors are not like this.
Jesus Christ, what an absurd thing to say.
So a studio working with fairly new hardware and having difficulty getting around hurdles = incompetent? How's it feel up there on your high horse?
Gents, this is the one open Vita thread - can we try not to shit it up too much?
Isn't it 400mb?
It's 400 odd MB not 4GB.![]()
I'll try not to. Shitting up this thread isn't my intentions.
According to the Wipeout's review in Famitsu, loading times are long in the final version as well. The load times are bad in the demo?
This isn't the final version, right?
I'd say all you need to do is ignore the issue long enough and it will inevitably get really bad. But like others said, this IS a demo, those are hacked together almost by definition...Luigiv said:To get load times that excessive you have to work for it.
Whatever it is, they need to share it. Much better advert for the system than the others we've seen so far!I wonder what kind of post-processing 2048 is doing on the screenshots for them to not allow OS level ones...
Image dimensions match, or do you mean if the game itself runs at that resolution natively rather than upscaled?is it native vita res?
I think he means the latter.Whatever it is, they need to share it. Much better advert for the system than the others we've seen so far!
