Ano Natsu de Matteru 02:

I'm really enjoying this show's artwork and animation, and the characters are delightful and have good chemistry, even if there's nothing particularly earth-shattering here (hey, if it ain't broke...). Remon is the wildcard who makes things even more interesting (the best scene in this episode by far was her giving everyone drinks that looked suspiciously like Midori Sours). The only thing about the episode that felt really "off" despite the fact that this show is no stranger to fanservice was the very brief bit where
Mio was in her room talking to Kanna on the phone. I don't know many girls who even in their room just lounge around naked and holding a big teddy bear...

But ultimately when a show has me thinking "The episode's already over?" at the end, it's doing right by me. I shall continue watching.

OH DEAR GOD
tiny Sakura

HNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGG

also Tomo-chan is a horrible actor.

Oh yes, this is one of my favorite episodes! It's so adorable! ^^;

with 10 years the first marathon and with 14 the pilot license for mechas
Except, and that's something the ANN guys didn't get either, you don't need to know fuck all about piloting anything but maybe a toaster to control Vox. That's the basic idea. You don't really pilot that thing, it pilots itself. You just have to provide input. Madoka didn't make Vox do a German Suplex, she thought of a German Suplex and Vox performed it. At least that's how I understand the concept.

It's finally heeeeeeereeee

yeah, of course! and the thing was for the longest time even in auto-pilot mode.

It was more a comment about how young the heroes in animes and mangas are.

Isn't Madoka rather old by anime standards? 17 I believe? And yeah, that's still too young and I still want the early 90's back.

Chihayafuru 15:
Chihaya's made a powerful enemy this day. I did think it was kind of funny how
the queen seemed way more worked up over her than Sudo, despite Sudo taking more cards. I guess even the queen realizes that Sudo is just too awesome to become rivals with.

Of course, Taichi remains awesome.
It's a shame he lost, but he still got to show his biggest strengths, and now he and Nishida have even more motivation to get stronger.

Forgot about that, but that scene caught me off-guard as well. I'm glad it was short.

Onto disc #7 of Sakura.

This disc came with a postcard of Sakura wearing bunny ears saying Happy holidays. Jesus Christ Nelvana, are you trying to kill me?

[Gintama 85-96]

There's just...so much...Gintama.

Well, at least you now know what hair growth formula to use when you go bald.

As long as :Cajun doesnt get misconstrued like moe does.
It is when :Cajun becomes defined as pedo that I draw the fucking line.
Nobody likes their name defiled by misconceptions.

This is the internet, it can have a mind of its own so it's possible. Though I don't see that term leaving GAF. Outside is where it would get tainted, not here.

Edit:

Anyways, onward to watching the Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou OVA's again tonight. Hitoshi Ashinano really leaves you wanting more when it's all said and done. If only there was a full anime series. There's so much about that world which would make great discussion here.

Brave 10 2
Yet another what are girls doing in my sengoku period show?
Action wasn't bad. Didn't care for the talking bits.
Didn't need to hear SAIZO! so much either.

Can anyone explain the story of Aquarion EVOL?

I watched the first two episodes and have no idea WTF is going on

Girls and Boys kept seperate? Or is that only in the school? and why?
Those robots? Did humans make them? Whats that stuff about reaching god status?
Those invader people.
Humans with special powers?

etc...

The Daily lives of Highschool Bros 2

The punchline on the equipment joke was so good. Show of the season continues to be show of the season.

Sakura has a dopperuganga

It was knocking down magazine racks and shit like a pissed off Gaffer. BAD SAKURA CLONE!
She also has a really dedicated brother.

So do you agree that the first ep of S2 was somewhat disappointing compared to much of the first season, or not? (Also, did you watch the OVA episode released between seasons one and two?)
Yeah I would agree that the season 2 opener wasn't as good as pretty much every episode of the first. I can give it some slack as a reintroduction episode.

I did watch the OVA a little earlier today. I did expect it to be a Kokoro centric episode and in that it delivered fully. Quite an enjoyable interlude between seasons.

Aim for the Ace 2:
Man, Kyoko is a bitch. I felt really bad for Hiromi. I like Hiromi a lot so far. She's got some spirit, and there were some really emotional moments. The last few minutes of the episode really got to me.

I'm so glad I'm not a girl. Guys are nowhere near as bitchy and vindictive towards each other.

Have you watched the first series of Aquarion? You probably should before watching Evol

Rinne no Lagrange 2

Definitely weaker than the first episode but the pacing was still energetic enough that it didn't feel like a chore to watch. This Madoka is also quickly becoming my favorite Madoka.

Bodacious Space Pirates 2

Despite some rather nice mother and daughter bonding scenes the bodaciousness is still nowhere to be found. Even though the show is nowhere near as bad as its title would imply I'm gonna give it one more episode to impress me before I bail.

Nah I havnt and I've read that it wasnt that good so I wasnt going to bother.

one of the main reasons it wasnt good was because there was no real resolution to it, this is the continuation 12000 years later, so I reckon you kind of need to watch the first season

Princess Tutu 17

I never realized
fabulousness
was aegis against all things but one's self.

Princess Tutu 18

Adventure element is so well done in this but yet another
downer ending
.

Good episode, not as strong as last week but this show still sits on top. The Queen is still hitting a nice mix between scary a likable, which is exactly where you want to hit when she's set up as a rival for Chihaya. Otherwise things went as expected, but the execution here is great. The one thing that stood out was the last track as the episode wrapped up. I think it's new, or at least one of the tracks that doesn't show up as often, but it's really phenomenal, and it almost carries the show as it wraps things up.

I guess I will, if I end up finishing it. I just finished episode 3 and it's pretty good so far. Should I avoid the first movie?
If you've seen the Gurren Lagann movies, they're both basically like that.

If you haven't: the first movie is pretty much the first half of the series in condensed form with no real changes, and the second half makes some pretty big changes, that I personally liked for the better.

Daily Lives of Highschool Boys 2
tumblr_lxyyihS6gB1qm3v42o1_500.jpg

Scary story one continues to be my favorite of the "skit series," with Tadakuni always telling the best. I like some of the side cast, Karasawa needs more screentime.

Oh! Edo Rocket 18:
Whew. Great episode there. Ginjiro was only in a little bit of it, but he still remains awesome in every scene he's in. I loved the silent scene of him leaving; it was very well directed. Seikichi and Sora's reunion was great, too. The dialogue was very well written, with both of them expressing themselves in ways unique to them, and unveiling more about what they were thinking without actually coming right out and saying it. Just a real example of how to write sparkling dialogue. Then...evil cliffhanger.

I think I'll finally watch Summer Wars when the Sharks game is over.

Have you watched Evangelion yet?

I'll watch the second one then
, assuming I finish frontier
