Birdy The Mighty: Decode 3

Sad episode with the little clip at the end. But this is fun, and I need to build a solid foundation of fun before I watch School Days apparently.

Summer Days 6

I fucking hate this show, what a stupid thing :(

Makoto,
go get hit by a train :(

YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS SAIKO :(

Katsura :(

I'm sad. I shall continue tomorrow.

I check up on AnimeGAF, and everyone is watching School Days?

.... I approve.

Though, real men watch it in one sitting. (and immediately follow it up with ToraDora!)

Major School Days Spoilers - Fellow bandwagoners, do not read!

(Un)fortunately, I know about the Nice Boat thing, but I don't know the details of who/why. On the plus side, it's actually ramped up the tension for me because I'm jumping at every shadow, so to speak.

A ticking time bomb is only scary if you know it's there. And it's even worse if you're not sure where.

spoilers tuned to your knowledge level, circa this post:
This is actually how I watched the show, and I still feel like I got pretty close to the full effect. Honestly, I think the only way I was able to keep watching the people in this series treat each other the way they do was knowing that it was going to happen. By the end I thought I had a hunch as to who, but.. I guessed wrong. Good times.

School Days 12

When I shed a single tear near the end of Code Geass, I was worried that I still had emotions. Fortunately, my good friend GAF didn't miss a beat before providing me with just the right remedy. Now I know there's nothing inside.

That's exactly what I did, but considering it's 7am and I have work later, I won't be following it up with ToraDora. Nope. Nothing to do but lie in bed with my thoughts and wait for sleep.

That actually sums up my experience quite well.
I thought Kotonoha was going to go on a rampage at school. What actually happened was so much worse than that.

I'll have to read all the spoilers for School Days to make sure I don't go and waste my time watching it.

Edit:

The plot summary was enough.

Wow, I'm glad I never subjected myself to that. The frightening thing is, that show easily could have been fucked up even more than it was. My eyes remain clean.

[Ano Hana Onegai Teacher edition ep. 02]

Love traingle established. Gee, I wonder who'll end up friendzoned? :P

So I was going to check out a few anime and I wanted some opinions:

FLAG
Flame of Recca
Tatakau Shisho

I've only seen about 10 minutes or so of the first two and noticed that FLAG looks like a cartoon not an anime, and Recca seems alright.

Phi Brain is getting a second season! Yes! I hope its also 20+ episodes.

The anime studio Sunrise announced on Wednesday that a second season of the Phi Brain: Puzzle of God (Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle) television anime series has been green-lit. In the second season, the story continues to revolve around the Orpheus bangle and Phi Brain, but the puzzle battles heat up. The new season will premiere on April 8.

Love line actually. Pretty much everyone character likes someone who likes someone else.

It warms the cockles of my heart to see so many people experiencing School Days. It's not even my birthday and yet I'm getting all these presents!

Oh! Edo Rocket 19:
Akai really lost his shit. It's the buildup of what's been happening with him for awhile now, so it was interesting to see, and I thought his scenes with Seikichi and Ginjiro delved into his reasons in interesting ways. This episode had some really great comedic moments, and everything in the story seems to be coming to a head.

daily lives of highschool boys - 2

Nago is awesome. Love the disgust on her face. Needs more literary girl.

It's not a great show, but it's enjoyable enough. Also fond of the OP--it feels like an intro to a battle shonen.

You guys who marathon long ass anime shows, how do you do it? what is your work schedule/school schedule like that you can devote many hours to this? Or do you watch a couple at a time?

I usually try not to watch too many episodes of a single show at once. It might take longer to finish/get caught up on something, but I generally find it a more rewarding experience when I don't just burn through something really quickly. Marathoning shows by watching a number of episodes in one sitting just doesn't work for me anymore. Not only for schedule reasons, but also because I find that I get burned out on something too quickly.

Flame of Recca has one of the best realized instances of the Shounen formula ever... in the manga. The anime cuts out a bit including the best character in the series and ends in a typical "read the manga" way. It isn't bad and seeing some of the better early fights animated is cool, but as an adaption, it's filled with wasted potential.

Thats why its taking me so long for CCS. I watch a couple eps in a row, then go do something else.
I have the rest of today and two more full days off to reach my goal of episode 40, so I'm not gonna push it.

I haven't really "marathoned" something in quite a while, for the same reasons mentioned by KuwabaraTheMan. But when I did in years past, it was usually on a weekend when I had nothing to do. I recall watching something like 50 episodes of Inuyasha in one shot back in the day.

With a regular 9-5 (or 6) style work schedule, I've found that I have more free time than I did even in college, so finding a few hours to sit down and plow through something isn't that hard if I really want to do so.

Thing is, I am supposed to have a fucking awesome schedule of 7/7. work 7, off 7, so I should have loads of time to watch. but right now we have a shortage of manpower and I have put in countless extra days over the last year and a half. Im glad to be employed and all, but I did join after being told I would have that schedule, and with all the stress involved in this kind of work, I could really use the 7 days off after 84 hours on.

It took me 4 months to do 49 episodes of PGSM. I could never really marathon a show with work/school/life taking up so much time.

Right now, I watch 3 episodes a day of something while I jog in place. Maybe that isn't quite as intensive as legit marathoning, but I can knock out a 90 episode show in a month.

In the past, I was more obsessive with stuff like this. Ended up doing like 140 episodes of One Piece in 9 days, which back then was all that was available translated. I think that was during some kind of vacation in high school, so it's not like I had any commitments and barely had a social life, so it wasn't that hard.

CCS 30

Great episode.
How does CCS keep such quality with this many episodes?
It is just cuteness and good writing the whole way through.

I didnt know that
clow cards can get injured.
As the episode goes on, you realize that Sakura has to capture the card, but
Rei uses the little creature Dash
(which looks kind of like a Pokemon), to
run her footraces
.
The
big track meet comes up
, and Sakura has to
decide whether to let Rei run using the magic or to do the ethical thing and catch the creature, which could end up making her lose the race
.
Its simple, but effective.

One episode a day, but if I get too busy by school, I try to watch 2-3 episodes a day on weekends to make up for the difference

The problem with a lot of long ass anime is I will get burned out by them very fast if I rush through the episodes, so I'd rather watch very slowly than catch up quickly.
