You guys who marathon long ass anime shows, how do you do it? what is your work schedule/school schedule like that you can devote many hours to this? Or do you watch a couple at a time?

I used to back in 2006, and back then it was when I marathoned alot of shounen like Naruto and One Piece. I also marathoned Ranma 1/2 and Prince of Tennis etc.

Now it's just, stay ontop of whatever is out for the current season, and when that dries up watch the backlog.

Such a shame, I didn't discover Urusei Yatsura back in the day, now it mocks me with it's 195 episode mountain. T_T

There's something I really like about anime from this era.
If you look carefully at the frames, you notice stutter. Its not cg-perfect. there are little mistakes and glitches in the art and framework, but you can tell that a lot of love went into animating this.

IIRC, all CLAMP anime adaptations were done by Madhouse until Angelic Layer, which was Bones.

I was just reading reviews of Nelvana's Cardcaptors dub edited version and it kind of has me raging. I knew they fucked it up but only now I realize how much and why I'm never ever touching that version. So glad I don't have to resort to that shit.

Because her thing is helping people, so she's helping these people too, just in a job (sport) with slightly higher stakes. I mean, that's why that scene of her saving that drowning person at the beginning was there, I think: to show her attitude and explain why she'd be willing to help.

After what was said in Episode 2? That's hardly the reason anymore personally.

You're on the right side. I think the negative reaction to the movie is understandable, considering how important the original movie was to many fans, so much so that simply being the original film again is some kind of crime.

You can pretend that there's no dub for the sake of your sanity, but unfortunately, yes, there is. I wouldnt have a problem with just a dub, but its no faithful to the original. It changed a ton of shit like DIC did with Sailor Moon and that completely ruins all intent the creators had for the show. When your dub changes the very structure and personality of the characters, you've FUCKED UP.

I do have to disagree a bit about moe in particular, though, as cajun was saying -- moe in particular isn't always about sexualization, really. Or rather, even though it is, a lot of the audience doesn't see it that way, and there are somewhat valid cases to be made either way on the issue. Overall I do think they are sexualized, yes, but to very different degrees depending on which show you're talking about. Like, I don't think something like K-On was entirely designed to be as you say. "cute" and "sexy" aren't the same thing.

So I was reading earlier that Sato Tatsuo has said there will be no romance in either Lagrange or Pirates, but rather they will focus on friendships. Wtf, I mean these shows seem like perfect opportunities for some heavy yuri romance.

If the friendship is anything like in Episode 1, we're good.

That seemed like a place the anime could have really expanded on, since it was a match between two elite players. I'm glad we have the Golden Pair stuff over with, though. Next week should be awesome with the Captain matches.

In my rewatch of Naruto (8times, 3 times for Shippuden) and Bleach (3 times now), Id just watch as soon as I got home (5pm) and go until midnight or so, and weekend from 8am til midnight.

For Reborn, its just five episode a week.
