That's what made the punch awesome. We know Ging is supposed to be this "1000+ Kamehameha waves fired at him at once dodging dead beat", so him supposedly getting hit by a surprise attack from Leorio of all people was a great moment. And the look on his face when he got hit...it WAS priceless. Eh well...they'll be other good moments like that since there's no fear of a hiatus for a while.

Isshin would just be the "green" character to re-introduce the rest of SS characters to (cute in cheesy Bleach Begins title sequence).

I'll admit, by comparison to the others, he's boring... but there's potential to resolve dangling bits that will never be addressed at this pace (what's the real story behind Ichigo's mom, how did he meet Ryūken Ishida, why did he use his final move).

Besides, maybe a year is all he needs to think of something that continues the story beyond this current arc... hypothetically speaking of course, if he's taking a break to develop story.

Too tired to read HxH and KTR, will read tomorrow. I, for one, am looking forward to see if Kubo can bounce back from what he obviously was trying to scrap as soon as possible with this latest arc. The Fullbring arc had plenty of potential, and even had some shining moments, but ended downright horribly. No good. But, I think this break can be a sign that he hopes to better plan things out from here. Hopefully he'll stick with some core characters and develop the overarching plot. My hopes aren't sky high but I don't expect to be disappointed either.

It will be interesting how a medic can fight in the front-lines. Hopefully she will not be as weak as "strong" female characters featured in Bleach.

It was curious though that she was basically exempt from all the people getting screwed up by Aizen during his trolling times. During his first betrayal-ton revelation, during the Hueco Mundo arc, during his ending big fights--lots and lots of people getting screwed up but only Unohana basically came out from all the ruckus unscathed, hahaha.

I skipped some parts of the volume because it was getting me down. The story about Jeanne d'Arc does this to me. The thing about Yvette was also another depressing factor, and Pierre's decision in regards to Jeanne was disappointing (though he was pretty cool in regards to taking revenge earlier).
Given the more or less grounded in reality stuff, the end for Jeanne is what it is, so I expect a failed attempt at freeing her and shit.
The manga is good and well drawn, but it depresses me.

Neither are true and are merely limited by Kubo's writing ability. Chad is a fantastic character design that was introduced as being the most badass motherfucker to ever roam the Earth and served as the manly man in a manga of twinks for a good while in the series. Not only is Chad manly as fuck but his power is badass too, as is his dedication for his friends. You simply don't get that type of dedication from anyone else in Bleach, even Ichigo, who goes into fighting fully know and well that he's going to win all the fucking time. Chad goes in knowing that he'll lose, and that's admirable and what true friendship and being a bro is about.

Being nondependable is completely different from being a failure. Chad is very dependable, as you can depend on him for being by his friend's side all the time. When Chad loses, he picks himself backs up like a true bro would and just moves on, brushing it off and continuing to help his frinds. If Ichigo gets defeated, we spend an entire arc of Ichigo whining about it as he gets trained in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber or something as equally dumb with no regard to what's happening to his friends.

No but seriously this chapter was just so fucking awesome. Finally I'm interested in the Toriko story. I've never been a big fan of the God stuff, but this chapter feels like an introductory to something truly great and epic. Hopefully the Gourmet World will be just as great as the Strawhat's entering the Grand Line. This chapter really feels like a new start.

As for the content itself, it seems the president is capable of using haki or some shit. I wonder if that'll be a new type of power.
