Try adding these to your autoexec.cfg and see if you like it.

r_postmsaa = 2
r_postmsaaedgefilternv = 2
r_useedgeaa = 3

That's what I use. It's not perfect, but it's better than the default blur.

Thanks dude, I tried those settings you have and to be honest I didn't dig the little aliasing left on screen and somehow I honestly like better the blur I had before vs the clarity+aliasing it gave me afterwards. But besides that, those have to be the best settings to get rid of the TAA I have used. Anyway thanks again man!

I gave Crysis 2 a quick spin yesterday. Amazing going from Skyrim to that, having Crysis 2 look ten fold more impressive and run so much better. Even with shonky DX11 effects pushed out the wazoo my performance is considerably better than Skyrim, and Arkham City. I really gotta give Crytek props for that one. As dodgy at the tessellation looks at times, it doesn't hinder my performance anywhere near as much as some other games, and usually looks better too.

That's what I was thinking too. Batman AC had DX11 and honestly it didn't look better and performance was crippled to hell. I haven't tried Skyrim yet but a friend of mine says that if it wasn't for the mod community and the performance mod, Skyrim performance is awful too.

Props to Crytek anyway... for their engine at least.

Take some shots with the particle effects mod for C2 and MALDO of course...I've been trying but having some weird issues with Minus. My computer keeps crashing when I try to upload pics for some reason.

The in-game settings are pretty sparse. I had to turn post-processing off for the demo to work, black screens otherwise. I also didn't bother with Radeon Pro for either of those screens.

I should post this screenshot here ay?

I'm working on a big collection of Skyrim screens at the moment, with big variety, and I was going to hold out and do a big upload all at once at the end of the week, but I just had to put this one up.

One of my best IMO.

Looks like he's running software renderer maybe?

You should change your FOV to a 16:9 appropriate one:

WSGF said:
Go to \SteamApps\\half-life\valve, and open autoexec.cfg. Add this line to it:
default_fov xxx
I recommend 100 for 16:10 monitors and 105 for 16:9 monitors (default is 90).
Widescreen resolutions are selectable in the ingame options screen. You need to set the "Display mode" to "Widescreen," and then widescreen resolutions will be selectable.
This game is Hor+, dependant on your FOV setting.

It feels a million times better from a gameplay perspective.

AT LAST!!! Another game gone from my backlog! Great game, weird story but entertaining as hell. Reminded me a lot to Killzone (except for animations) which was a FPS I had fun with.

Anyway, great game, but not as good as the 1st ones, but still fun game... and pretty with mods.

Blurry shots up next hehe:

And that's it!!! No more Crysis 2 for me for a while =D

Good game, it's fun but not even close to the fun I had with the first ones. Definitively above average FPS campaigns.

Anyway here's the full album if you want to check it out, but it doesn't have that much more pics than what I posted here: Crysis 2 Folder

I've followed this thread and it's predecessors for a long time, but I haven't been able to post until today. Just wanted to say amazing work and thanks for all the incredible screens. I wish my poor computer could pull off stuff half as good as these!

We've been over this before. No downsampling below 1080p seems like a happy medium. I doubt a lot of 1080p users want to scroll all the way to the side to see our gigantic 1600p shots.

I have a 1920x1200 monitor, if it's that big of an image I either just open it in a new tab, or I have a greasemonkey script that auto scales the image so it doesn't matter to me
