Resident Evil 6: Bro-Splosion Announced, Nov 20 PS3/360, PC Later, PR/Trailer In OP

I was on board till I saw Chris stick to a wall and peek out to shoot dudes who were shooting back.
Why? Cover systems are NOT a bad thing. When used right, they can add a lot to the game. This certainly doesn't seem to be a standard cover based shooter by any means, so I wouldn't worry yet.
 
Why the hell is it Leon and Chris again? Bro motherfuckers are boring as hell and overused as it is in the numbered entries of the franchise. I'd much rather see Claire/Jill/Rebecca/Barry, it's ludicrous that not one of them aren't featured in one of the 3 character slots. My only hope is that Wesker comes back given them not wanting to mix things up because he's the only one in the 'main' RE cast that's amusing in any way, shape, or form.

With that said the trailer's amazing for an announce trailer, I'm always annoyed when they feature no gameplay at all and there's a tonne shown here that looks awesome.
 
Looks terrible. RE5 was bad enough. Disappointed. Looks like MGS Rising, with zombies and leather jackets.

Because they are the best characters in RE, and everyone knows it. I wouldn't mind some Barry, but he's a coward.

mix in enemies that can gank you out of cover for good measure. proper shooting around corners would improve RE5. so there.

Anyone know if capcom has said anything about the puzzels or if there are even going to be any? Will they be hard like the original games or easy like in RE4?
 
Looks like some elements of the old Resident Evils and the more recent ones. I'm down.

I was hoping to play this sooner than November though.

It looks fun as hell. As long as the Leon parts of the game give me some slower, darker horror I don't care how much action there is. The games starting with RE2 had elements of action anyway. So RE having action never bothered me, in fact I welcome it as long as there are enough horror elements.

I mean, seriously? I'm RE fan since the first PS game and still a fan after RE4. The character here just do something they should be able to do since the first day of joining STARS.
 
Why can't they use EVERY main character from the classical series instead of adding crappy mercenaries no one cares about?

And Chris again? With a fuckload of action, gears-of-war sections? Really? Fuck you Capcom.
 
The fact that I can finally move around while shooting is the only real improvement I could even ask for. Everything else looks great. You really get the vibe that there is an intense, edge of your seat state of emergency going on.

Yes, it is action packed, but I am still having to shoot my way through hordes of infected abominations with tentacles and such exploding out of their faces as they try to surround me. The fact that they have finally made the gameplay more modern is only a plus. I sure as hell am not about to boo what looks like the best playing game in the series. I can see horror and action here. A blend of both with better gameplay suits me fine.
 
Keep the gameplay continuity (items etc.) with the characters and I'm all in. RE to me is about killing monsters, watching you health/ammo, and finding items in non-linear environments. Doesn't have to be open world, but just don't lead my down a hallway for the entire game and i'm happy. Don't care if it's action or horror, but if it's both then fuck yeah.

Because that's not what I want from a Resident Evil game. I mean, if it does that stuff well, great! But when it opened up with zombies in a ruined city, it felt like a kick in the teeth when Chris (basically) roadie ran and went into cover.
 
Zombies, Leon, and fake Raccoon City look great and remind me fond days with Resident Evil 2.
Everything else though remind me why my copy of Resident Evil 5 is still unopened.

Yeah, this. I'm personally really excited about this slide mechanic, could make the combat really interesting.
