Definitely surreal going from a low budget 80s anime to a sequel from the early 2000s that seems to really like CG. At least the character models are shinier.

It doesn't really feel like this is taking advantage of the OVA format at all. I mean the animation is better, but there's barely been any action. Hope that changes soon. Definitely interested in the 108 douchebags of Hades.

Regardless of the quality of the competition, Rinne no Lagrange is, at least so far, a good show. And it is not the only new one this season. (Personally I'm finding myself partial to Natsume S4.)

[...]There's a real stark sense of isolation in just about every scene of the show so far, like the characters are the only ones who live there despite the appearance of a modern city. It's kind of weird, but perhaps there's some sort of truth in it, considering how emotionally isolated everyone seems to be from others.
