I want to go watch Brook's flash back right now. It was quick but beautiful. One of my favorites.

So does this manga have some sort of conclusion? It has been like 8 years since volume 2 and I doubt that the dude even cares about ending it.
Yeah it was clearly canned or just abandoned. I don't really mind because I think his efforts are better spent elsewhere, but what really is a shame is that he barely makes manga anymore.

It's actually funny that you mention this, cause it was just the other day that I was thinking that this is the quite possibly the most consistent of mangas when it comes to translations. To hear that one guy does it all himself is nuts. It's almost every couple days that a release hits, and sometimes even chapters at a time.
But as for the manga itself, yeah, it's incredible. So personable. So inspirational. I don't want to see it end, but I have to, and the ending is going to hit me hard. I can feel it.
If only Bartender got the same love, scans wise.

At the end of the first volume I dreaded the battles with lies could become boring, but the second volume had me rethink that. The battles are still pretty cool and engaging and the use of lies to fuck with the enemies is just as strong as it was in the first volume.
I also enjoyed seeing Utsuho falling for someone else's lies, and the way he coped with it. It was really laugh worthy.
Anyone else reading this?

Utterly epic chapter. Blue Pegasus was awesome too, Hibiki and Eve, and then Lamia Scale with Lyon and the wave magic user, Yuka. Oh and then guild with that cool guildmaster, Goldmine.
So many favorites in one chapter. Glad Mashima left it open to introduce an entirely new guild though, it would be nice if all the favorites got to work together to team up to defeat some dark foe this arc, even with Jellal to join in too. Gajeel should have shown up to take Elfman's place for Wendy.

We're in the very least in the arc where it's gonna take place so it very close.
Miura's comment about the God Hand is very interesting cause if valid it should mean that we're going to see the origin of each of the God Hand in the series sometime soon...which means, in the next year, which is good by Berserk time!
Miura also comments that he's practically keeping himself alive (which kind of falls in place with him losing a crapload of weight a while back) to continue to publish the series.

I've been rereading Thriller Bark because it's the second best One Piece arc after Skypeia.

You ain't kidding. Still, it's better than basically resetting the whole manga again, I guess. We get a bunch of little bumps in the road instead of a cliff to drive ourselves off of, if that analogy works.

Plastic Girl vol 1 END
I need to start reading more shoujo manga. They are all happy and fluffy and cute. Can't be worse than half of the other shit I read.
Maya had a lot of funny faces throughout the entire volume. This Pierre is truly a gentleman. He is always saving the day, his eyes alone makes girls faint, and he is freaking French. Dude is a master at picking up girls. Shoujo men really have it easy. The whole model agency crap was alright. Probably just an excuse to get more poses out of Pierre since the dude always come at the end to save the disaster caused by Maya.
Overall it was an enjoyable manga. I don't care much for believable romance plot in shoujo manga but this one didn't feel stupid cause it was so short. They were already kissing by chapter 3.

Out of curiosity, how does one define this? What makes something "believable" as opposed to otherwise?

They're totally unbelievable btw. They're just unbelievable in a different way than shonen. For example, in shojo the chick just gets a super hot guy despite being unassuming or possibly having glasses and a pony tail, and this happens relatively early, but in shonen the lead just accumulates a massive harem and never resolves it.

Found this to be quite good. It's a josei, and mostly handles the lives of two girls, one who has never had a boyfriend and another who has had some and is currently in a relationship with an university student, who starts off not liking each other, and after a certain situation ends up spending time together and becoming really close friends.
What i liked is the way the two girls were handled, their interactions and how that, little by little, made Yukari, the more experienced girl, start to change and, in the end, realize her feelings.
I also liked the character art.
It was a mature and touching story, and I suggest anyone who likes josei and never read it, to give it a look, since there's a scanlation for it.

Well I don't read that many shoujo manga so I'm not expert on this matter. But I find the whole "kissing is forbidden" shit or "the male MC is perfect in every way" to be unbelievable. I'd much rather believe the overly sexual romance manga like A Girl by the Sea over the other shoujo that treat holding a hand as a sacred thing and takes you ages to get a confession.
I was actually gonna read that instead but I decided to hold on it until I do my Usamaru Furuya marathon.
Oh it's actually a complete manga? yeah sure I will read it.

Why?
That is a tough one. Basically there are three types of shoujo, fantasy, fantasy reality, and reality. The main one to understand is the fantasy reality area. These manga are set in reality but are totally unrealistic. Sub-plots include gifted student facilities, everyone is billionaires, male MC is absolutely perfect, etc... If you read fantasy reality shoujo expecting realistic scenarios, you will only grief yourself.
There are a lot of recommendations to be made but if any of those areas bug you, then a lot can be crossed off. Sadly, I would say the reality shoujo is few and far between. Or at least leans very close to fantasy reality most of the time.
