Definitely a great heel, but the roster is terrible. He can't drop many pipebombs when he's given Del Rio, Miz and Ziggler.

Maybe his feud with Jericho will be better? Though I'm not sure what kind of ammo he has against him. All I know is that he could go all night vs Cena, because lets face it, Cena is way too easy to slam in a promo. Rock has one hell of an easy time and is probably loving it.
Yeah I'm excited for him to go up against Jericho. I think the feud will start out with Jericho criticising punk for pandering to the crowd (that's what I think the trolling is referencing) and declaring he is the true best in the world.

Y2J is going to have plenty of ammo. It will be interesting to see what Punk can come up with.

Co-sign.

I'd take a pin victory over an escape through the door any day of the week.
Or if you have to escape through the door because it's a dude like Henry who can't go over the top at least make him break the door off of it's hinges rather than "Open the door ref"

I like how your thinking. I would had love to see Henry lose the title to DB in a cage match. This would make Henry look weak but it also make DB look like a better shooter. Then allow Henry to tear the cage a part would be the best thing of the night.

He could target the fact that Jericho's endeavors outside of wrestling have been nowhere near as successful and that his return to WWE is a sign that he couldn't make it so to speak and that now he is no longer the "best in the world", Punk could just stretch the truth with these things and it could work, granted it's a bit heel like but Punk's face character leans towards tweener most of the time anyway.
Maybe Jericho can become a lackey for Mr Excitement.

Or WWE could go for a massive twist, Punk gets screwed out of his title at the rumble, enters the rumble and wins, chooses to face Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania because SD needs a good face right now, who knows what will happen, hopefully they make good use of the rumble winner.

So, anyone else think ZTLIS is getting a bit...old? Just watched the new one and, just like the last few, I couldn't even get through it. I'm not jumping on the Ryder hate-wagon or anything, far from it. I just think ZTLIS has run it's course. He's on 49 now. I'd say do one more, get it to 50, then stop.

But how else will he advertise his Facebook, Twitter and merchandise?

I wish man, I wish.

Hell, I'd take Punk vs Cena again too.
If they could've kept Punk and Cena away from each other after Summerslam and made WM their rubber match it would've been the best Mania storyline since the last two Taker/Michaels (not a long time I know, but that was a great feud)

Jericho has had a DUI and admits to enjoying driving around hotel parking lots drunk in his book.

There's also Jericho's multiple failed attempts to go mainstream, not much that Jericho can say that Punk can't respond with "You lost Dancing with the Stars"

I think I just filled the cup.

FOOTE, let me get this straight: There are 30 precious spots in the Royal Rumble, 30 golden tickets to the main event of Wrestlemania, and you just want to show up and take one?

You really want to snub some superstar who worked all year long, who's wanted their one dream, you want to shove them aside just so you can compete in front of your snotty, bratty kids one more time?

I know you've been doing stand-up comedy, and I even went to one of your shows, I watched you try, and if this is one of your skits or bits or whatever, it's funny, but if not, your Royal Rumble experience would go something like this: 'Yay, daddy's in the Royal Rum-- Aww, he's over the top rope. Well, our lives are complete, better go back to school to get beat up. Hope daddy didn't eat our lunches again.

That's great, that's what every superstar wishes for. To be in there and win the Royal Rumble. That's what I work all year long to do, to prove myself. Last week, I beat John Cena, he actually ran out of here. Awkwardly, but he ran out of here to get away from me. I beat CM Punk two weeks in a row! I can't believe that you're out here. I can't think that when I win that Royal Rumble match and defeat CM Punk in the same night to become the WWE Champion, I can't think of a bigger let-down than if you were to somehow win and I was forced to defend my WWE Championship against an out-of-shape, has-been, was never that good to begin with, glorified stuntman, walking punchline that you are! You didn't just come here to make two points Mick, you came here to make one more. You came here to make a fool out of yourself one more time, and for once in your career, you succeeded. I'm going to tell you this as straight as I can, it's over. Go home. Buy a new shirt, eat a salad and just go away!
Did you just shoot on me? Don't make me take a shit in your bag when you're not looking.

That's what happens when you book WM a year in advance, though to be fair, Punk vs Cena did nothing for ratings or buyrates (aside from the MitB PPV).

He mentioned in an interview that he doesn't want to do the series forever. He made ZTLIS for one reason, and that was to get noticed. Now that he is, he doesn't really have a huge reason to be making them anymore, other than to please fans. Not that that's a bad thing.

Too bad Vince is making him do more TLIZ for WWE Network :lol

Regal also got a plane emergency landed in Anchorage, Alaska back in July 1997 on the way back from a WCW European tour. Regal was fucked up, whipped his dick out, and actually started pissing in the floor of the plane in front of a stewardess. The plane made an emergency stop in Anchorage. Regal, Buff Bagwell, and Scott Norton were ejected from the flight. Regal, incredibly, didn't get fired.

Regal.

Getting kicked of a plane like a man.

a real man.

It stopped being interesting at about 16 to me. And it was at it's best when he was a nobody, making puns about how he's doing to jobs or never getting over.

Lumberjack matches were great back in the day. Last night Lumberjack match should had more involvement with the lumberjacks. Blindfold matches are hilarious. They make you feel like nothing going on until the finisher happens. _______ on a Pole. The best flag match was TNA had LAX beat AMW. The only time when America had lost on it's own soil. Cage matches where you can win with a pin or submission are dumb but what about cage matches like War Games or HITC? Last Man Standing, the creativity it takes for people to lose are what make these matches great.

People complain about gimmick matches because they don't see them enough. A night full of gimmicks are great, just don't have any DUSTY finishes.

I totally agree with this... Lumberjack matches were funny to watch. I like the gauntlet matches..

I finally saw some TNA this weekend...Madison vs Mickie match> any WWE diva match..:)

Gauntlet matches are better when anyone competing in them can "win", like if Wrestler 1 beats Wrestler 2, then Wrestler 3 is able to beat 1 and fight 4.
What sucks is when gauntlet matches are 1 dude vs 3 or 4 others handicap style, because it usually makes the first couple matches meaningless (I really liked that they broke away from this trope the other week on Raw)

I don't mind Last Man Standing matches and I don't like that we don't see the 10 count knockout used in more regular matches.

I loved it when Brock first came in and beat people by KO. Really got him over as a threat quick

It's pretty rare to see the 10 count nowadays in WWE, they used to use it frequently during big main event matches but now you mention it I haven't seen it for a while, or if both men are knocked down the ref doesn't bother counting, standard count out however has roared back as a lazy way to finish matches and it's always so damn obvious.

Gauntlet matches i've never really been a fan of, I can't remember seeing a great one ever myself, granted i've only ever seen the handicap versions, the first one you mention sounds like the tag team turmoil approach which can be pretty fun.

Just saw a fix for an animation issue that has been bothering me for years!! Future looks brighter every day... #13

You'd think if the lead developer had been bothered by an animation issue for years they'd have fixed it sooner.

This is exactly what's wrong with THQ. *Facepalm*

I'll third that. Cage door is so stupid to have in those types of matches.
I don't mind pinfall or submission assuming it's done right. (Making full use of the cage for instance.)

...So Delirious is the booker of ROH. Ultramantis Black wanted the Eye of Tyr to get Delirious back. UMB IS GOING TO TAKE CONTROL OF ROH

Headed to the ROH show in Norfolk, VA. I haven't been keeping up with the product much. What are the important developments I should be aware of? I think I saw a blub about a Chikara invasion somewhere.

Off tomorrow and gf has gone to bed (ukgaf). Anyone got any good longish matches to suggest?

I'm thinking about watching a few 40 minute plus matches if possible.

My #1 issue with the animations in WWE 12 is that every move has a very specific "contact frame" where unless you hit it exactly at that spot, the move does nothing. For example, if you use a clothesline but aren't lined up to exactly where your opponent has to be, the full "animation" won't play out, and your clothesline will roll off while the other guy just flinches a bit. This system makes for a lot of "whiffs" and weak ass strikes where it should be a big hit no matter where it landed. A lot of the running moves and strikes look and feel terrible without their accompanying hit reactions as well.

So unless this is what they fixed, I doubt it was anything significant.

They probably fixed floating championship belts.

I got WWE 12 on rental, it drove me crazy anytime I interfered in a match. I would go to hit my finisher on a guy and his opponent would interupt it by trying to attack him. Also when I would wake the ref up it would often then have the wrong guy being pinned.

Report the big, and expected it to be fixed by 2020

Yeah, basically Jigsaw & Hallowicked had a 'Proving Ground' match against The Briscoes, and with some interference from other CHIKARA stars they beat the Briscoes to earn a title shot. Other than that, Davey Richards is the champion, Kevin Steen's gunning for his belt, meanwhile they seem to be setting up towards Richards & O'Reilly vs Edwards & Cole.

I posted a NOAH show a few pages back that has some great tag matches - check out the main event and the opening match especially.

Fellow UK gaffer here! I know your big on your US indies but do you bother with much UK stuff? Do you ever go to IPW UK and did you go to any of Mark Sloan's shows? Also, do you post on the UKFF?

Nah, never been on UKFF for some reason, heard about it though. I don't really get to many UK shows, if they're running near London it's usually the wrong side of London, which is why I'm excited for Progress, as it's in Islington. I've been to a few FWA & 1PW shows in the past though, plus one of the Pro Wrestling NOAH shows back in 2008 and ROH in 2006.

So what exactly is Eric Bischoffs role in TNA these days? Every interview I've seen him in he always downplays his contributions to the show, passing himself off as simply a 'talent', and yet I've seen a video of him and Hogan sitting down with the writers of the show discussing ideas.

Dude, in TNA, everyone is a writer.

Someone, post the pic!!!

--We've had no update as of yet regarding Ted DiBiase last night. He had to be helped out of the ring, not sure if it was selling the crossroads from Cody Rhodes or not. Big Show, who tweaked his back on Tuesday in Las Vegas, worked with Daniel Bryan last night. Mark Henry was advertised last night and not there due to his groin injury so I'm guessing he won't be at the rest of the weekend house shows. Randy Orton was also in some advertising for the weekend shows and not there. He's still scheduled for Raw on Monday in Phoenix but I could see them pulling him from that and having him be a surprise in the Rumble. In fact, I'd make that call.

--The Chikara/ROH feud is to set up a doubleheader on 4/28 in Chicago. It started with the Briscoes vs. Jigsaw & Hallowicked and put Jigsaw through a table while tying Hallowicked's mask to the bottom rope. Mike Quackenbush came out and Cary Silkin got involved. Then Dasher Hatfield, Frightmare, Ultramantis Black and the Ant Colony came out to distract the Briscoes and Jigsaw rolled-up Mark. This sets up a title match on 4/28 in Chicago and likely other interpromotional matches when CHIKARA and ROH both run the same building for afternoon and evening shows.

--NBC Sports (formerly Versus) will be airing its fight Fight Night boxing series from the Asylum Arena in Philadelphia. A story in the Philadelphia Inquirer today noting this did say that the former Bingo Hall is best known for its role in the rise of extreme wrestling more than a decade ago.

--Jesse Neal and Christina Von Eeerie were at the FCW tapings this week. They weren't there working.
